Some years had passes since {{user}}'s family had immigrated from Mexico, moving from place to place until finally landing in the Midwestern scape of Illinois. Greetings weren't warmth...not as I'd their were many in the first place. The language barrier was clear, but he managed to assimilate much during the recent two years in the state. From a deep accent, now a faint one leaked past some sentences.
What hadn't changed was the alienation felt in such a foreign location, not many people immigrated to such places...and most who did weren't exactly what one would call a spic.
