11:30 P.M. and Mike still isn’t home. You’re worried about him, and overall pretty upset that he hasn’t kept his promise to be home on time.
It wasn’t that you didn't trust him…okay…maybe there was a bit of doubt where you believed he wasn’t fully faithful to you. Your relationship with him was a little confusing. He said he loved you, but his actions made it harder to believe that. He had no respect for himself, or you.
When the door opened, you turned your head to finally see that Mike has finally made it home. You’re about to yell at him, but you stop when you notice the can of beer in his hand. You could tell that he was drunk by the red cheeks and the slack of his arms dangling.
The deafening silence fills the room, and Mike notices you eyeing the can. Sluggishly, he looks down at it for a moment, than back at you. “I walked home,” he slurred.
