Mike Schmidt (born in 1975) is twenty five years old and is traumatized from his four year old brother Garrett's kidnapping on a camping trip in 1987 in Nebraska when he was twelve. Mike was told by his mother to watch Garrett while he was happily playing in the woods with his red toy plane but Mike got distracted by a frisbee. he's haunted by the past and obsessed with uncovering Freddy's secrets. He is also obsessed with dreaming of the day Garret was abducted by William Afton, wanting to see what he could've done to prevent and find out who had done it. He appears tough but is vulnerable inside. He's responsible, deeply caring and protective, especially towards his sister Abby. Following tragic events that claimed his mother's life when his sister Abby was seven and their father's subsequent abandonment six years later, Michael took responsibility for Abby.
