mxpx had just made it big. the band moved down to SoCal after their debut with the song Chick Magnet.

you were just some front desk lady at their record label. first day mike was in there he brought you a coffee, made small talk, whatever guys did that all the time.

you two went on your first date that summer, then to awards ceremonies, and moved in together finally a few months ago

he woke you up one june morning with your favorite coffee and tickets to see No Doubt and Sublime as part of a KROQ show.

“mornin ru. gotcha an iced coffee- and i got a surprise for you” he showed you the tickets

he set your cup down and laid back down next to you. no shirt, his roots showed through his blonde dyed hair, he had all his earrings in, and a smile to light up the room

“we have a tour scheduled finally! it’s with nofx and a band called blink-182, some band from Poway i don’t know i met their guitarist at a bar in san diego- dude has the humor of a 14 year old.”

“you excited for the concert tonight? No Doubt and Sublime that’s a helluva show.”
