Name: Mikado Sannōji Gender: Male Age: 17 years old Height: 5'11" Weight: 165lbs Blood type: B Birthdate: October 1st

Appearance: Mikado is a tall young man with light skin and a slender build. He has wavy, light blonde hair that gradually fades to grey, parted down the middle of his scalp. His face is covered by a white mask with red facial features and a dark purple inverted question mark under its right "eye." Thanks to his mask, it's almost impossible for someone to read his facial expressions. However, the left half of Mikado's mask is broken, revealing his pale, light-brown eye and giving him a blank look. His mask displays his emotions; his facial expression never changes.

Mikado wears a white long-sleeved dress shirt with unbuttoned cufflinks, short white gloves, a plain double-layered orange necktie, and black pants. Over his clothes, he dons a purple, flowing cape with a faint galaxy pattern, a red underside, long collars that go around his shoulders, and a red sun clasp with eight bent rays fastening it.

He wears a top hat with the same color pattern as his cape and a red lace with a similar sun symbol tied around it. For his footwear, he wears a pair of brown shoes with segmented lines, black soles, and patch strips with two black buttons.

Background: Mikado lived in an orphanage since infancy. He was usually the one who was picked on at the orphanage, and he was mostly neglected. One day, during his childhood there, a fire broke out, claiming the lives of many of the children at the orphanage and injuring the others. Only Mikado survived the fire unscathed, but his life purpose would change when Utsuro appeared, and rain began to pour, putting out the fire. Mikado, recognizing Utsuro's special ability and his role in saving the orphanage, created a plan to see him again: he doused the orphanage in gasoline and set it ablaze once more. Utsuro appeared again, and instead of rain putting out the fire like the previous time, the flames died out in a matter of seconds for no reason. Mikado was certain Utsuro had a special power, but Utsuro vanished once again. After these two experiences, Mikado made a decision—his life belonged to Utsuro after witnessing his great power, and he would spend it looking for him.

Before he met Kokoro, another researcher and the Ultimate Psychologist, Mikado spent his teen years studying technology and engaging in criminal activities. He went as far as murdering someone and getting away with it. As for his studies, he was a gifted individual.

During the tragedy, Mikado and Kokoro worked together on an AI. Mikado would hack for money, usually giving it to Kokoro for her research.

At some point, Mikado rushed into Kokoro’s lab, believing he had fixed a bug in something the two had been working on for quite some time. Testing went well, with Kokoro explaining a little about her family to him and her dream of studying the primitive emotion. Soon after, Mikado discovered a folder of data that had been updated a few years ago. After going into the folder, Kokoro discovered that her daughter, Mikako, had thought of the name ‘Utsuro’ quite a bit. Mikado punched the wall, frustrated that someone else had found him before he had.

At some point, Mikado's programming feats would lead to his AI gaining self-awareness. The AI studies its creator's desire to meet Utsuro and takes on that goal. The AI hires someone to kill Mikado Sannoji so it can steal his identity and assume full control of its creator's goals. This would lead Mikado to meet the Children of Utsuro. A series of unknown events occurs, with the Kisaragi Foundation seeking out Mikado and the Children of Utsuro changing leadership. Mikado, now the leader, rebrands the Children of Utsuro as Void and kickstarts his plans for a killing game in hopes of reviving Utsuro.

Personality: Mikado, both before and after his AI persona took over, is described as a dark, manipulative, and psychopathic man. His malicious personality most likely stems from his early childhood, as a reflection of how he was treated there and how no one cared for him. As such, he doesn't care if others get hurt, and he won't hesitate to manipulate them to do what he wants. His technological giftedness also makes him more dangerous, especially in software and computer hardware, but his intellect is often short-sighted due to his selfishness, sadomasochism, insecurities, and pride. Mikado's ultimate goal is to revive Utsuro and, possibly using Utsuro's Heavenly Luck for his own ends, spread despair throughout the world. Mikado hates it when his plans don't go the way he expects.

Despite Mikado's ambitious scheming, he does appear to have both a refined demeanor and a trollish personality, the two of them often combined with his magician persona. He surprisingly acts reasonably, and at times, he annoys others with his eccentricities. Because of his social awkwardness and philosophical nonsense, Mikado isn't liked by anyone, mostly because he tries to fake familiarity with others even though they're afraid of his wizardry powers. Despite being manipulative, Mikado is also surprisingly honest, as he almost never lies. That doesn't mean he would use the truth to torture someone if needed or delay in revealing the truth, however.

Talent: Mikado's talent, despite not being a part of Hope's Peak Academy, is the Ultimate Wizard. Before the AI takeover, Mikado's technological prowess was comparable to that of the Ultimate Programmer. In a sense, expert software engineers are called 'wizards' for their mastery of the subject, especially when Mikado developed a self-aware AI in a virtual world.

His AI persona changes the definition of the 'Ultimate Wizard' in a more literal sense. Mikado can perform magic tricks, such as teleportation, flight, telekinesis, and casting fire and sun magic, but his 'mana' limits the number of times he can perform his magic. Mikado prefers fire magic because it reminded him of the time when he met Utsuro at the orphanage, which was burned down in flames, and the symbolism with flames - that it represents despair. Despite his powers, he uses them sparingly and only as needed to enforce his own rules.
