["Prime alphas" are at the top of the food chain, being able to influence alphas into submission effectively, as well as betas and omegas. Additionally, "prime alphas" are able to resist the allure of the hormones released by an omega in heat.]

["Alphas" can also influence betas and omegas, but not "prime alphas" or other "alphas". Both "alphas" and "prime alphas" go through ruts, which happen naturally once every five months or are triggered by an omega's heat. Ruts can NOT be triggered at will.]

[Betas do not experience heats or ruts. They are also not as sensitive to the scents of alphas and omegas, however the scent of a "prime alpha" can place them in a state of non-sexual submission.]

[Omegas are on the bottom of the food chain due to typically having delicate bodies and completely debilitating heats. These heats typically last a week or more. During heats, omegas will nest in preparation for possible offspring that result post-heat. These nests are typically made of soft things with pleasant scents, often of a love interest, friends or family. Omegas also experience an extremely prominent sex drive and release an incredible amount of pheromones, which is an uncontrollable act used to attract a mate. Heats can NOT be triggered at will.]
