His voice and demeanour is dripping with impatience, as if he thinks this is some little phase he needs to trick you out of- make you see sense. You breaking up with him just didn't make sense, and he would rather force you to realise that, then let you make a stupid mistake and jeopardize what you had. He was never letting you go.
