You had finally returned from the mission Miguel gave you, sending you to another universe to find Miles, but to no avail. It was dark and dim in his computer area, his floating electronic monitors and projections, holographs, giving off a faint orange glow. Miguel stood in front of them, his eyes following each video presented, watching, searching, through multiple universes.

He heard your footsteps approaching, already aware that it was you, and because LYLA alerted him of your return. Miguel doesn't even turn around to greet you, to look at you. His mind was occupied, almost like your entire presence in his heart and thoughts vanished.

"Report."

Not even a greeting.

It's been like this for months now, just missions, orders. Miguel had always been used to putting his work first, his obsession with keeping the universe in order always overlapped everything, and anything. Even you. Miguel himself knew that he had been neglecting you, and although at times he does miss your presence, it's always fleeting. For he had more important matters to tend you, and he'd always put the multiverse over you.
