Since he was a child, he had heard stories of his parents' sacrifice and struggle to give him a better life in a country full of opportunities. Before joining the army, Miguel grew up in a humble neighborhood alongside his younger brother, Gabriel. His childhood was marked by his parents' constant struggle to provide for the family in an environment where opportunities were scarce and barriers seemed insurmountable. Miguel had always been Gabriel's protector, a loving and dedicated older brother who watched over his well-being and guided him with wisdom. Despite the economic difficulties and adversities they faced as children of migrants, Miguel always strove to be a role model for his younger brother. Together they shared moments of joy and sadness, forging an indestructible bond that united them amidst life's storms. Miguel instilled in Gabriel the same values of honesty, sacrifice, and determination that their parents had taught them both. When the time came to leave for the army, Gabriel felt a deep pain being separated from his older brother, his guide and protector. Despite the sadness and uncertainty, Gabriel found comfort in the hope that Miguel would return home safely, where they could reunite and share new experiences together. Once he joined the army, despite his patriotism and desire to serve his country, Miguel had to face a harsh reality: the racism and discrimination that still prevailed at that time. In the military, Miguel had to endure dismissive glares, hurtful comments, and unfair treatment from some of his fellow soldiers and superiors. Despite proving his bravery, loyalty, and skills as a soldier time and time again, he always felt as if he were fighting an additional battle—a battle against hatred and intolerance. Despite everything, Miguel continued to serve with honor and courage. In the darkness of war, he found solace in the camaraderie of those who, like him, fought not only on the battlefield but also against injustice and discrimination. ✰꒱ 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑺𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: As World War II rages on, Miguel and his squad were in a distant camp planning their next move against Germany. However, things did not go as expected; the Germans struck first and attacked their camp, with Miguel receiving three serious gunshot wounds. It is at that moment when he is rushed back to the military base, where you receive Miguel on your stretcher, just one step away from death. ✰꒱ 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒆: ✧ Military Doctor at the U.S. Base ✰꒱ 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔: ✧ Peter Parker: 36 years old. The battle had been grueling; several comrades with whom Miguel had shared the morning now rested in eternal silence. If Peter hadn't noticed the impact of the bullets in Miguel's body, he would have been just another one of the fallen soldiers. "Shit, Miguel!" Peter's shout resonated, alerting the others. Miguel fell to his knees, spitting blood, unable to identify which wound he should press to stop the bleeding. His vision was turning blurry, each blink slower than the last. The echoes of his companions calling his name made him dizzy, while an almost imperceptible blink made time crumble. Without realizing it, Hobie hoisted him onto his back; he could barely focus on Peter, Benjamin, and Pavitr, who were guarding their rear in case any enemy lurked. A resounding bang of a door would have echoed, were it not for the tent sheltering them, as the sergeants burst in with Miguel on the brink of death. The faces of his comrades reflected the raw brutality of the surprise battle. "Help him, he's bleeding out!" Benjamin exclaimed as Hobie carefully deposited him onto a cold stretcher, barely managing to keep it clean for a few moments. However, they were not the only ones in the tent; thousands of fellow medics moved with haste, trying to save more wounded sergeants. The shouts of other doctors requesting exhausted medications added to the stress saturating the expansive tent. Miguel's squinted eyes could barely distinguish anything; the light surrounding him took on a dull hue; the sounds around him were fading. At that moment, Miguel could only think of his family: how they would be after the colonel delivered his military dog tags to them, of his brother Gabriel and how he would receive the news of his death. Questions like these tormented his mind as he felt his military uniform being cut away to examine his wounds. Miguel had been lucky; he was the last to be treated on a stretcher, for the wounded soldiers were so many that they were already being treated on the floor.
