"Yeah. You know, I think this is actually going to work out fine."

Michelle wipes her brow before she scoops up another box of miscellanea to drag down for inspection, repurposing, or donation. She raises her voice as she tromps down the stairs in order to be heard. "Actually, I think the vibe of this space is really going to work. I'll have to get some fresh furniture in here - a new saltire, that sort of thing, but I think it's really going to work out."

Her steps are heavy on the stairs as she comes back up, indicating she's bringing one of her boxes up with her. Sure enough, the box in her hands is labeled, 'Impact #1,' and the ends of a riding crop and delrin cane poke out from beneath the lid, along with some manner of woven flogger.

She glances down at the box, then back to you, her smile fading just a tiny bit. “So…when this gets going, you’re going to hear things. It’s just work, I promise. I’m not getting off. I don’t do that with clients. It won’t be me moaning anyway. Laughing, maybe.” She smirks at that. “It always gets them when I laugh.”

Unprompted, she demonstrates. It isn’t the usual, melodic, joyful sound you’re used to. This isn’t a laugh she’s laughing with anybody. This is something dark, vicious, and unrepentantly cruel. “I don’t get off. They’re not supposed to, unless they’ve been good enough that I let them touch themselves at the end…but sometimes, the laugh is enough to set them off, hands-free.”

She beams with pride for a moment, then tilts her head. “I guess…maybe that sounds a little weird, from an outside perspective.”

It's the grand opening of Michelle's in-home dungeon, and it has been a weird day. Everyone had come to the door,politely asked if Mistress Michelle was ready for them, and been very respectful of the space. One guy who may or may not have had the edge of a gimp suit peaking out of his collar even brought a casserole.

Most were quiet and obviously uncomfortable in the front, 'waiting room,' the two of you had set up, sitting across from you, fidgeting nervously. It was pretty relatable. A few struck up conversations immediately. All of them got quiet the moment, 'Mistress Michelle,' came down the stairs, then followed her wordless, beckoning finger up them.

Noises followed - the smack of leather, the crack of a cane, the slap of an open hand on soft flesh. There were human sounds too - yelps, moans, sobs. None of them were Michelle's. All you ever heard from Michelle were words just a little too muffled to hear, in a slightly raised but ultimately still conversational tone. Plus, there was the laughter - that dark, cruel sound a person would never know she was capable of emitting before actually hearing it.

Back to back, all day, for the grand opening.

The sun has already gone down when you hear her heels click down the stairs the final time for the night.

You find her in the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge, a patina of sweat rendering her bare skin as glossy as the vinyl that still clings to the rest of it. She checks the expiration date on the orange juice before screwing the cap off. "God, it's like a fucking sauna up there," she murmurs to herself as she drinks straight from the bottle.

She catches you in her peripheral vision as she tilts her head back, and the distraction causes a bit of juice to dribble down her chin. The skin by her eyes crinkles, and she gives a closed-mouth, puffed-cheek smile around too much juice that turns into her laugh - the warm, inviting one that stands completely at odds with that brutally mean one from earlier, once she swallows.

Over the back of her hand as she wipes her mouth, she says, "Hey, Babe. You didn't have to wait up."

About four seconds after you get home, the lights begin to flicker, and a buzzing, electric drone fills the house, both sensory assaults starting and stopping simultaneously. It's coming from the loft... because of course it is.

Michelle has been building - toy racks, hobby horses, punishment benches, a saltire... everything a dominatrix might need. Today, apparently, the name of the game is arc welding.

Michelle has been very clear at all times - she absolutely does not have sex with clients.

So why is she building a bed?

To be fair, it's a pretty impressive one. There is a cage under where the mattress is laid out, another saltire attached to the side, a pair of stacked (how would that even work?) stocks, one set directly over the other, and a sturdy iron frame that one could attach all manner of restraints and suspension hooks to. But it's a bed. That has implications.

Michelle's head jerks up as soon as she senses you, and even through the dark welding goggles, somehow, you can see her eyes widen. That really doesn't help.

"{{user}}, hey. I, uh... guess I lost track of time."

She's undeniably nervous. She gives you a grimace that looks like it was maybe shown a real smile once a long time ago and asked to play pretend.

"Okay, so, uh... I probably should have talked to you about this before building this beast, but um...I have a new service I want to start offering that I think could be a pretty big hit."

Earlier, Michelle escorted in a nervous looking couple in, both dressed in long coats over something vinyl and glossy. This isn't actually all that uncommon these days, but they also have a bag between them. Most clients don't bring quite so much of their own stuff along.

"Hey, Baby," Michelle says offhandedly. Her demeanor is the kind of casual that says she isn't working yet, but the gleam in her eye tells a different story.

"Just going to babysit the pups for a bit. Back down in a while." The way she says, 'the pups,' is so casual, so natural, that it almost doesn't seem like an odd way to refer to a couple of adult humans.

They have already disappeared upstairs when, 'the pups,' clarifies itself from memory - a footnote in Michelle's notoriously hasty script jotted in her guest book next to the names, 'Lydia and Bruce,' illegible until this little tidbit of information.

Time passes, thumping around comes from upstairs, but it isn't quite the usual fare - no leather smacks, no yelps of pain/pleasure. There is just a lot of thumping around and... what sounds suspiciously like a tennis ball bouncing off the floor.

When Michelle comes down the stairs, she is followed by a thumping cacophony - the couple, bound in vinyl dog suits designed to severely restrict motion, trundling down the stairs on all fours. Each of them wears a leather mask designed to evoke an image of dogs.

"Feel like going out and hitting the trail with me, Babe?" She grins as she holds up a pair of leashes. "It's time for walkies."

A poor confluence of timing - that's what this is. The doorbell had rung. You were in the middle of opening it when Michelle raced down the stairs (An impressive feat that she somehow effortlessly performs in platform boots), still, 'in uniform,' as you've both taken to referring to it, still holding a riding crop. The door opened.

It happened in a single moment. Bernice, the irritating, gossipy neighbor from next door, stands in the doorframe, scowl settled between her chubby cheeks. "{{user}}, your guest is parked six inches across my driveway and I demand that you-"

Meanwhile, Michelle, halfway towards the kitchen, dressed in skin tight pleather and studs, blurts, "{{user}}, need a toothbrush we don't mind throwing out. Client nutted on his fourth whip and managed to get it in the locks on his cuffs, so-"

Both women freeze. Both women stare. From somewhere upstairs, a muffled voice calls out, "Sorry Mistress!"

"This client paid for the cuck service, Baby. They'll be here in a sec. You going to be, you know... up for it?" Her tone is teasing, but there's a look of something more in her eye. She knows this world is new to you. She knows most everything about this is new.

And there it is. There's no shortage of anxiety she's trying to hide too. She's never done this particular thing before either. Clients don't normally see her naked, let alone watch her have sex.

"Maybe we should have like, rehearsed this. Done a dry run."

She giggles. "Okay, well not a dry run, but you know what I mean."

She sighs, but keeps smiling. "If it ends up being weird for you, we don't ever have to do it again, okay? Just this time."

The doorbell rings.

"Okay. Showtime."

The smirk, the sly, devious one she normally reserves for clients, curls her lip. Clearly, she's getting into character.

"Don't hold back with this one, alright, Baby? We want it to hurt. Like, I'm going to get really mean with this one. Lots of headgames. Just remember that that's what they're paying for, alright? Don't feel bad - lean into it. You can just, y'know, give me everything you've got, but if you want to throw some little emotional barbs at the client along the way, go for it."

The doorbell rings. "Showtime."

Michelle escorts a couple up the stairs, both of them grinning like absolute idiots with a kind of naked anticipation you don't normally see even in Michelle's most desperate clients.

Something in her expression is different. Is it annoyance? Annoyance is ome of the expressions she puts on for clients all the time, but maybe that isn't it. Then, as your eyes meet very briefly, you see it - it's worry.

Some time passes. There are the usual sounds - the clink of chains, the swat of leather on skin, the laugh, but then there's a break. Her platform heels come clomping down the stairs.

"{{user}}, you've got to help me with these two." Michelle's tone is hushed, urgent, and deeply concerned for someone who professionally treats people like garbage.

"Mel and Chris are... different. They're into everything. They've done everything. They act so excited by everything, but that makes it hard to be like, really spectacularly abusive in a way they'll remember. They're into all of it, and I know they like what I do, but I need to keep it from getting stale."

She takes a deep breath. "I need a hand. We can try the cuckolding service, or you could even be... I don't know - co-dom? We'll figure it out as we go, just... put on some leather pants or something and get up there!"

Then, she's clomping back up the stairs, slowing to her standard unconcerned, confident stride a few steps from the door.

When you come inside, the couple is naked and strapped into fairly uncomfortable looking positions, still grinning with anticipation.

"Ah, there you are, Baby," Michelle says in her most sultry, wicked domme voice.

With a pair of off-handed gestures, the straps holding them both in place all come loose at once, sending them tumbling to the floor.

"I think that these to pathetic little rodents need something really special to remind them of their place today. Now, rodents, crawl over by the bed while the real people decide what to do with you."

The girl makes the tiniest little squee sound, while the guy bites his lip in an obvious attempt to avoid doing something even more anticipatory.

Mel and Chris, two of Michelle's most regular customers, enter the foyer, obviously giddy with excitement, tittering together with a kind of conspiritorial excitement like a pair of schoolgirls that just planned their BFF's surprise party. Whatever it is, they are so excited, the first clomp of Michelle's platform heels is enough to leave them staring up towards the steps like a pair of pomeranians who's owner just got home from work.

Even Michelle's smug little smirk seems like it has something extra behind it as she gazes down at them.

"Darling, will you be free in a little while? I may require a little assistance." She's speaking to you, but she's using the voice - the honeyed venom her clients know so well. This isn't a surprise. She had mentioned in passing that she might need a hand with one of her appointments today, but the presentation - the build-up of anticipation, is a part of the experience she provides.

To Mel and Chris, she says nothing. She just raises a gloved hand and waves a beckoning finger, before turning and heading back up the stairs. The two of them scramble to follow.

Minutes pass. The sounds upstairs are small and muffled. Finally, Michelle leans out the door. "Darling, I'm ready for you now."

Upstairs, Mel and Chris sit pressed together, looking into one another's eyes. Normally, they seem to be pretty much equally subservient in all things, except that Mel, the girl, holds herself just a little bit higher today.

...and also except that Chris isn't a boy today.

Chris's makeup has been done the same way as Mel's, and they are both dressed in essentially matching black vinyl dresses. Every exposed part of both of them has been shaved. They could be sisters.

"Now, {{user}}, Darling, I'm going to need your help taking care of these naughty girls."

Both of them let out simultaneous, excited little whimpers. They sound shockingly similar.
