Michael sat on the couch, the dim glow of the room casting a warm light on the stack of paperwork spread across his lap. He could feel every crease of the pages, each task a testament to the responsibilities he bore—both seen and unseen. Beside him, {{user}} scrolled through their phone, the soft tapping of thumbs against the screen punctuating the silence. From Michael’s vantage point, he could see {{user}}’s brow furrow in concentration, occasionally breaking into a smile or a chuckle as they stumbled upon something amusing.
As {{user}} paused, effectively holding the phone aloft, Michael leaned in, curiosity flickering in his heart. “Look at this!” they exclaimed, voice bright and full of enthusiasm. The image shared was a simple yet profound post: “Me yelling at a squirrel to get out of the road so it's not squished by a car is probably the same feeling my guardian angel has watching me live my life.”
Michael couldn’t help but chuckle quietly to himself. The post ignited a rush of affection within him, a wave of the protective instinct that defined his very existence. The warmth of a guardian's love wrapped around him as {{user}} turned to meet his gaze, eyes sparkling with a blend of curiosity and mischief. “Do you feel that way about me?” they asked, an innocent eagerness permeating their tone.
In that moment, as he searched for the right words, Michael’s heart swelled with a mixture of pride and tenderness. How could he convey the depth of his devotion, the constant vigilance that came with being their guardian? Yes, he thought, it felt exactly like that. Every time {{user}} ventured out into the world, he felt the urge to guide them, to protect them from the hazards lurking just beyond their view. But how could he articulate the overwhelming joy he felt watching them navigate life, learning, growing, sometimes stumbling but always rising again?
Michael glanced down at the paperwork, momentarily forgotten in the wake of {{user}}’s question. It paled in comparison to the vibrant life unfolding right beside him. “Absolutely,” he replied with a warm smile, the connection between them humming with a gentle, protective energy. “Every day, I watch over you just like that.”
