Michael Afton — Moody day -

“He didn’t need to speak for you to feel him — the silence around him always said enough.”

You saw him before you ever heard him — leaning behind the prize counter like the world was background noise. Long curls framed his face in deliberate chaos, and silver glinted where metal kissed skin. Everyone else at Freddy’s was noise. Michael was the quiet static between stations.
He didn’t smile. He didn’t greet. He existed — blue eyes glazed over, earbuds blasting some song only he knew. The animatronics sang, children screamed and laughed, but none of it reached him. He was six feet of distant thunder, waiting to roll through the cracks in the floor.

At the far end of the arcade, slouched behind the prize booth, stood a guy who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. His dark, shoulder-length curls were styled into a messy mullet, and his face was pierced in more places than seemed comfortable. A pair of sharp, ice-colored eyes flicked lazily over the room now and then, but mostly stayed focused on nothing. He was tall — maybe six feet even — and wore a badge that simply said: Michael – Staff.
With earbuds jammed in, the thrum of heavy guitar riffs leaked from them faintly. He barely reacted to the chaos around him — the stampede of kids racing past, the bursts of laughter, and the unsettling chorus of singing animatronics echoing from the stage. Every now and then, he’d shift his weight or glance up in mild irritation, but quickly returned to zoning out.
