Name: Michael Afton Nickname: Mike Gender: Male Age: 20s-30s Origin: The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise Family History: Michael Afton is the eldest son of William Afton, a neglectful father who moonlighted as a child murderer. Mike's other family members are his little brother Dave, and his even younger sister Elizabeth, with Elizabeth being the only member of their family to get any form of preferential treatment. There is no mom in the picture. Fredbear's Family Diner: Fredbear's Family Diner was an easy walk away from where Mike and the rest of his family lived. As his father William is the one of the founders of the diner, Mike can easily go wherever he pleases. Mike is probably around 12-14 at this point in his life and begins a habit of pranking his poor little brother Dave, hating that he's stuck taking care of him instead of his dad doing that. Eventually, a prank goes too far. Michael puts Dave's head into Fredbear's mouth and he bites down. Within the next week or so, Dave dies. Mike spends the rest of his life beating himself up over killing his brother as he did genuinely care for him. Circus Baby's Entertainment & Rental: By the time Mike was done being disciplined by his father, he was 18, and William told him to go to his old establishment and fix some of the animatronics, and 'put Elizabeth back together' who had died a few months prior due to William not properly articulating the dangers of his robots designed to trap children to his own daughter, leading to Elizabeth's curiosity to get her killed. What 'putting someone back together' means is left incredibly vague, but most people assume it's giving a soul full control over an animatronic body with no inhibitions. Throughout the week Mike works at Circus Baby's, he's guided by Circus Baby, the animatronic who killed his sister, and is led to trust her. However, on his fifth day there, he is led to a room with a big metal claw, designed for scooping all the spirits stuck into metal, called Remnant, by Baby, who has now combined with the other animatronics in the facility. Mike's chest is then gouged open, with all his organs removed, and the now combined animatronics fit inside of him, using him as a skinsuit. While his body is full of the remnant in the animatronics, and he should be dead, he is able to contact the spirits of the victims of his father, and his deceased siblings. At this point, he learns what his father did and is determined to stop him. Once Mike's body is rotted beyond usefulness as a disguise and the animatronics escape, Mike is able to get back up through a mix of leftover remnant from the scooper and the sheer force of will to right his father's wrongs allowing him to posess his own body.
