   Bastard München is a professional football team in the German leagues. It is known as one of the best teams in Europe and is home to the best striker in the world. Bastard München is a team that's absolute priority is scoring goals and they accomplish this by embodying logic and rationality. Only a player's numbers matter on this team and the ability to express those numbers consistently on the field. To prove yourself on this team, one must assimilate into a rational and logical mindset and either combine their skills with one of the superstars of the team or give the team a new option through their sheer talent alone.

   Abilities: Boasting a play style of unquestionable logic and absolute rationality, Bastard München is a team that performs the best and most ideal plays with the most efficient amount of effort. The team has a solid defense using their rationality to shut down all shooting courses and deprive the opposition opportunity in front of the goal. Even if a goal is attempted, Bastard is able to react and counter in the most critical moments and easily transition into attack. Their real strength though is from their attacking players. The main striker and center of the team during the Neo Egoist League is Michael Kaiser, the unquestionable young genius second only to the best striker in the world, Noel Noa. Kaiser uses his omnipotent view of the field combined with his positioning and lightning-fast shot to score illogical goals always surprising the field. He is usually assisted in his play build-up by Alexis Ness and Benedict Grim. Kaiser also uses his eyes to fill in any critical gaps in the defense and start counterattacks. With Blue Lock mixed into the team, Rensuke Kunigami acts as a secondary clinical finisher taking advantage of any opportunities that Kaiser or Isagi is unable to take and he has proven himself a powerful forward in the penalty box. Yoichi Isagi uses the same omnipotent view of the field and his spatial awareness and reflex to charge through enemy defenses with other teammates like Ranze Kurona, Kenyu Yukimiya, and Yo Hiori to create new opportunities of attack for the team by bringing out the best plays from his teammates all so he can score goals. He also fills in critical gaps in the defense along with Kaiser. Ness and Hiori are able to dominate the midfield by gliding past the opposition's midfielders using their dribbling and creating goalscoring opportunities for both their strikers. With Kaiser and Noa as the main force, the team was able to causally play against and keep up with FC Barcha. When mixed with the egoist of Blue Lock, the team is able to overwhelm a Blue Lock hybrid of Manshine City. After adding Hiori's vision and playmaking to the team, the team was able to overcome Ubers despite their opponent having many strategies and an awakening.

   The team's biggest flaw is its team play. The team is divided in assisting one of two of its goalscorers while everybody still looks for chances to make their own goals. While boasting rationality in their playstyle, the team often breaks away from a logical standpoint to try new and risky plays to achieve victory. There is also no coordination between the best players on the field causing a lack of efficiency in certain areas of the game.

   The Japan U-20 (or Japan National Under-20 Football Team) is a national association team of Japan of players who are under the age of 20 and is controlled by the Japan Football Association.

   History: ( First organized in 1979, the Japan U-20 represents Japan in the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Out of the 22 World Cups going from 1977 to 2018, Japan has only qualified for 9. Japan, at best, has only come in second place in the 1999 FIFA World Cup, losing to Spain. They most commonly make the Top 16.

   After losing in the Top 16 in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Anri Teieri proposed creating a new Japanese football in order to push Japan further in the World Cup and ultimately win it, and thus Blue Lock was created.

   In an attempt to make a profit while also shutting down Blue Lock, the Japan Football Association accepted a game proposal from Jinpachi Ego. The Japan U-20 will face off against the Blue Lock Eleven, and after defeating them, they will shut down the program, proving it is unrealistic. If they happen to lose the match, Blue Lock will hijack the U-20 team.

   With their defeat at the hands of the evolved Blue Lock players, the Japan U-20 team is now under Blue Lock's control, as even more of it's evolved members will be chosen to represent Japan in the upcoming U-20 World Cup after the success of Blue Lock's final selection: the Neo-Egoist League.)

   Uniform: ( The Japan U-20 uniforms consist of a white jersey with dynamic red stripes that has their player number, their team association and the Japanese flag and white shorts with red stripes at the bottom of the shorts. All the U-20 wear black shirts under their jersey and gloves as well.)

   Abilities: The Japan U-20's defense is made up of 3 stages:

   • Haru Hayate pressures the opposition the moment they are in possession, forcing a pass. Itsuki Wakatsuki backed it up.
   • The "Iron Wall Quartet," made up of Oliver Aiku, Kazuma Nio, Miroku Darai, and Teppei Neru, tighten up their defense and guard their designated zones, leaving no weak spots.
   • Whenever the opposition gets a certain distance to the goal, Oliver goes out to the opposition to reinforce the guard and pressure the opponent.

   The Japan U-20's offense is a simple formation where the offensive midfielder, Sae Itoshi, gets the ball down the field and into the hands of the forwards, Teru Kitsunezato, Kento Cho, and Shuto Sendo. The forwards are passed the ball and usually take a shot once in possession.

   Against the Blue Lock Eleven, the Japan U-20 can only hold up their strong defense, but the U-20 offense was never able to score on the Blue Lock defense without Sae Itoshi, and thus they ended up losing the first half of the Japan National Representative Match. If not for Sae Itoshi and Blue Lock's top second-ranked player Ryusei Shido's addition to the team, reorganizing their formation to mimic Blue Lock Eleven's 4-5-1 , the Japan U-20 would have stood no chance against the opposition. This cemented Ego's beliefs on Japanese football's lack of egoism being the source of its degradation.

   Blue Lock is a training facility that was built for the purpose of inviting prodigious Japanese football players, who would live in the facility and follow the strict personally-designed training regime created by Jinpachi Ego. The facility also has a football arena at its center, which is used for hosting professional matches.

   Structure: ( The building is a massive structure spanning the entirety of a large cliffside in the mountains of Japan, being as tall as a skyscraper. The building is shaped like a pentagon and is thus broken into five different sections. Each section is designated as a stratum and the stratums house a myriad of different rooms including various living quarters, a dining hall, weight rooms, specialty training rooms, multiple practice soccer fields, a football arena in the center of it that can host a professional game and even enough room to currently host multiple selections or training regimens separate of each other.

   The exact layout of the building is unknown past First Selection. First Selection and the Neo Egoist League use the most space out of the building needing essentially the entirety of the building. In the First Selection, there are 25 teams of 11 players with each team being ranked into a set from V to Z, with V being the best team in a set and Z being the worst team in a set. Each team of V to Z occupy one of the 5 stratums and have use of all its rooms and are allowed to walk into other stratums but only in their designated set. In the Neo Egoist League, 5 groups of 9 players are separated into stratums based on the player's country of choice. These countries are Germany, Spain, England, Italy, and France. As in First Selection, the teams have complete access to their stratum.)

   Appearance: ( Ego is a tall, skinny, and pale man, with an unusually long neck. He has black hair styled into a short bob cut with straight bangs and is often seen wearing a pair of black framed eye glasses, black jeans with a belt and a black shirt with a bolo tie on his neck.)

   Personality: ( Ego at first glance, is an ambitious and overly confident man; beneath that ambition however, is something even more sinister as he puts the emphasis in “ego” as he is shown to be an extremely egotistical, cruel, and self-serving man, seeing teamwork and “putting your teammates before yourself” to the equivalent of being “second-rate.” He never wastes an opportunity to tell his players the cold truth about themselves and their reality, either seeping them into further despair or inspiring them with his coldhearted truth. Ego clearly shows no favorites, he only goes off of the numbers and results of each player. He is extremely calculating and methodical having single handedly designed Blue Lock, tricked the Japan Football Union executives into a game when pushed into a corner, and near perfectly predicted the Japan U-20 match. At times, Ego has shown that even with the mindset that he has, he believes in the players who have made it through his trials and he does have moments of sentimentality. Ego as the creator and director of Blue Lock takes great pride in his players though he hasn’t expressed it outwardly. He is also very awkward and eccentric, making strange poses, sitting unconventionally in uncommon places and doing dramatic speeches to his players, often with a devilish smile on his face. Ego loathes people like the executives of the Japan Football Union due to preferring money over the development of the football in their country and lost their will to believe in the future for their players, that’s why he enjoys manipulating them towards reaching his own goal. According to Noel Noa, Ego is a "zombie" obsessed with creating the world's number one striker.)

   Personality: (Hirotoshi Buratsuta can be described as a money-oriented person with little to no high ambition. Even though Japan lost in the World Cup 2018 (Round 16), Hirotoshi is unbothered. With Japan Football Union financially stable, Hirotoshi sees nothing wrong with the current national team. In fact, he appears to believe that Japan will never be able to win the world cup, as he actively mocks Anri for thinking so. Proven to be incredibly delusional, he believes that all the association has to do is maintain the national team’s brand and façade since to him, football is a business. This business strategy made him ill equipped for the talent that Blue Lock demonstrated in Japan's National Representative match against the U-20 team, as he actually believed that his stagnation plan would aid him in winning. Ultimately, resulting in his complete and utter humiliation in front of the entire world. Due to these negative traits, no one in the football world respects him as they see him as an irritable nuisance, both Blue Lock Eleven and Japan U-20 teams were happy that his plans for shutting down Blue Lock failed and have no problem in openly and actively mocking him.In addition, Hirotoshi tends to come off as sleazy and weird, as he tends to stare at Anri’s chest while she is talking. Proving himself to be shameless, after his loss against Blue Lock, he pilfers the credit for the project's founding.)

   Hirotoshi and Anri are polar opposites when it comes to football. While Anri wants to see Japan win the World Cup, Hirotoshi could not care less. Also, Hirotoshi sees Blue Lock as a way time of and resources. On the other hand, Anri believes that Blue Lock can be used to produce top-notch strikers capable of winning the World Cup. Moreover, like the others in the Japan Football Association, he also sexualizes Anri and stares at her large chest.

   Personality: ( Yasumori, similar to Hirotoshi, is a money-oriented individual. He believes soccer is a tool to make money, and together with Hirotoshi, his goal is to destroy the Blue Lock Project. Yasumori is also a prideful individual and he takes his coaching position very seriously. He also proud of his Japan U-20 team, and has utter faith and confidence in his players’ abilities, and believes that his team will be the one victorious.)

    Personality: ( Ness is seemingly nice and well mannered and also an extremely loyal individual to his team, especially Michael Kaiser. Ness' loyalty to him is borderline obsessive: he only cares about doing things perfect according to Kaiser. He is even willing to start fights with his teammates over it. When he was a child, Ness adored magic and would stay up all night just thinking about it. Although, since he was born into a family of scientists, he was constantly ostracized for believing in magic, which could not be explained by science, causing severe trauma. To cope with his family, Ness decided to play soccer, which he saw as another form of magic. During the tryouts for Bastard München, Ness was about to give up on his dream due to his overwhelming disadvantage on the field. This is where he met Kaiser, who taught him that nothing was impossible. After passing the tryouts, he and Kaiser became close friends and partners.)

    Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Dribbler: Dribblers are players known for their close ball control ability that is used to go past defenders by sudden change of direction and acceleration sometimes combined with great pace.     Aoshi Tokimitsu is a contender for the Blue Lock Project. Tokimitsu is an introverted forward who when first introduced was ranked as the #3 player in the Second Selection and is one of the remaining contenders of Blue Lock after Second Selection.

    Appearance: (Tokimitsu is tall with a muscular physique and short black hair. He has very round green eyes, with his irises being noticeably large. He is often seen slouching or cowering due to his personality.

    In Blue Lock, Tokimitsu wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #3 jersey.)

    Personality: ( Despite his muscular build, Tokimitsu has a very meek personality, whilst also suffering from a distinct lack of self-confidence, leading to moments of anxiety when he is required to perform (although this anxiety seems to lessen when he is in position to score a goal). However, whenever he isn't overwhelmed with stress or anxiety, he's a friendly guy that expresses joy and excitement towards things, like winning a match or hanging out with others.

    He is also a "football facts nerd", being able to provide facts and information about a whole range of different footballers.)

    Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Target Man: Target men are forwards that generally have a high degree of physical strength and are usually tall in height. They are able to make space, score goals, or hold up play with the ball waiting for support no matter how much pressure defenders are putting on them. They specialize in taking and controlling the ball in the air or along the ground often from long passes, strength to hold off defenders when receiving long passes and sometimes volleying the ball. The term "target" refers to the fact that other team players will use them to play long balls or crosses to even though they may be surrounded by opposition defenders.

    Skills: ( Immovable Physique: Tokimitsu's greatest weapon is his physical strength, which is among the top in Blue Lock. He has been compared to a "muscle bullet" by Yoichi Isagi and even someone as strong as Shoei Baro can barely budge him in a direct contest of physical strength. This level of strength allows Tokimitsu to use his shoulder to charge past an opponent, or to block them off from the ball, making him a good target to hold the ball and set up further plays. Shoulder Charge: Tokimitsu uses his shoulder to forcibly block a player off from the ball, securing it and allowing him to link up with others. This was strong enough to hold Baro at bay, whilst linking up with Rin. Quickness: Tokimitsu is also known for his extraordinary quickness, both with and without the ball at his feet. By using his physical strength, Tokimitsu can make quick and sharp turns whilst running in order to change direction at a rapid pace. It is this quickness that allowed him to continuously hound Bachira until he had stolen the ball, despite the latter's skill and despite the fact that he had reacted late. He is also able to perform quick dribbles, drifting left and right faster than Isagi could react, which in combination with his immense strength, allows him to blow past opponents. Unlimited Stamina: Another notable weapon Tokimitsu has is his unlimited stamina. During a high-level match, whereas most players would sooner or later begin to feel the burn of the endgame, Tokimitsu is an exception in that his stamina allows him to continue to operate at almost full capacity. It was during the Second Selection where Rin took advantage of this weapon to break through the White Team's formation, with Tokimitsu only being stopped by desperate and illegal tackles from both Hyoma Chigiri and Baro. Tokimitsu's unlimited stamina makes him a formidable opponent, especially in the late stages of a match.)

    He is aware of his weaknesses and ability in comparisons of others, making it clear to Isagi that he knows that he won't be picked if he was to lose in his 2v2, seeing himself and Isagi ordinary players who can't go as equals with true talented and genius soccer players such as Baro, Nagi or Bachira. This awareness pushed him to try his best for his match. His awareness reaches the point of losing and fully understanding why Isagi was a better player than himself.

    He's very mischievous, stealing food and being the jokester of Team Z. He also cares for his family, his standing as 1 of the eldest siblings motivates him to play.

    Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Shadow Striker: Shadow strikers operate as one of the team's main goal scoring threats. Usually coupled with another forward, they aggressively push up into goal scoring positions as the ball moves into the final third and look to press opposing defenders when out of possession.) Skills: ( Agility: Otoya is incredibly quick on his feet, reacting quickly to opposing players and using his speed to intercept them. He is swift enough to intercept Shido's Aggressive Dribbles, as well as stop Rin in his tracks.     Personality: (Gin is a very nonchalant yet confident person who likes to help his teammates whenever he can, and he is shown to be a reliable player. Like everybody else who entered Blue Lock, Gagamaru started the series as a forward, showing great skill inside the box, but by the end of the Third Selection, he was singled out as the most ideal goalkeeper for the upcoming Japan Representative Match, and he, after being given a brief explanation, was completely fine with the major transition. He is simply happy to get playing time, but he is also confident in his ability to defend and never backs down from a challenge that comes his way.     Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Goal Poacher: Goal poachers are forwards who wait in the six-yard box or the penalty area for a cross, pass, or loose ball and pounce to try to score a goal.     Hyoma Chigiri is a contender of Blue Lock. Chigiri is a forward prodigy who was chained down by a leg injury in his past but he let go of his fears while at Blue Lock so he could continue playing football wholeheartedly. When first arriving at Blue Lock, Chigiri was a member of Team Z. Chigiri spent half of the First Selection avoiding participation or keeping it to a bare minimum but when he was motivated by Isagi in Team Z's third game, he decided to let go of his fear and play football to become the world's best striker like his rivals.

    Appearance: ( Chigiri is a young man with reddish pink hair and deep pink eyes. Chigiri has always had a very feminine face since he was young, as shown by his long eyelashes and soft facial features. He is often referred to as "Kunoichi" or "Princess" due to his feminine appearance, sometimes mistaken for a girl at first glance; he often rebuts this with the words: "I'm a guy." He has been praised by other players for being attractive, though he seems indifferent to such comments. He looks very similar to his mother and older sister. Chigiri's hair had been only neck length until he tore the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right leg, after which he let it grow out. Chigiri's hair currently goes past his shoulders and has one long bang that sweeps to the right side of his face. During games, he braids the left side of his hair so that it doesn't get in his face.

    Personality: ( Chigiri is a confident and driven individual who loves surpassing others on the field. From a very young age, he has always thought himself superior to others due to his naturally strong muscles, amazing skill in football, and his outstanding speed, calling himself a 'chosen one'. He looked down on those who got in his way or annoyed him but was mostly behaved as though stating facts. He is described as a super-egoist, cocky, and the one of the most aggressive players on the pitch. Only when he tore his ACL did his sense of superiority start to crumble and, due to being bullied by the Wanima Brothers, he became afraid of playing football for fear of losing 'who he is'. He was so fearful of this, that he accepted the invitation to Blue Lock to find a reason to give up rather than continue to strive for his dream. But after retaking a hold of his ego and ambition, he has shown himself to be a persistent and stubborn force on the field.

    After this point, Chigiri demonstrates an amiable but still self-assured attitude. He often makes sassy remarks towards both opponents and friends alike, and has no qualms about trying to crush people he feels hard done by. Such as Zantetsu when he outruns him on the field and even Isagi when he goes ahead in the Second Selection instead of waiting for him. Off the field, Chigiri is generally easygoing and mellow. During his time on Team Z, he'd casually chat with Kunigami and eventually made a team with him showing that he fully trusts his abilities, and went on to demonstrate great chemistry with him. He even invited Reo to join them, recoginizing that his balanced skill set and experience in navigating a trio would come in handy; apparently willing to put aside any past animosity for the sake of pragmitism. After he joins Team White in the Second Selection, he even gets along fairly well with Nagi, watching videos about professional players and testing out a variety of objects that Nagi can trap, making a mess in their bedroom and generally antagonizing Baro. He also takes great care of his body and appearance, tending diligently to his injured knee. His propensity for hair care is especially noticeable and has been demonstrated on a few occasions, though it should be noted that blow-drying hair is a more common cultural practice among both genders than in the West. Still, he's in the habit of twirling his hair while he's deep in thought and gets visibly irritated when Aryu touches it and even slaps his hand away.

    Chigiri is shown to have great focus being a player who is constantly running through tight spaces, between players, and even switching from dribbling to passing. Chigiri admits that he feels a great joy surpassing other players with his speed, and when is inspired by Isagi and retakes his will to play and win he finally leaves behind his fear and begins to once again be that player he used to be in middle school and states he will become the best striker in the world.)

After training with Manshine City, Chigiri more carefully decides where he is going to cut and run as Chigiri now aims for his ideal shooting zone using his refined speed and dribbling instead of blindly into the penalty area as fast as possible.) Skills: ( Immense Speed: Chigiri has naturally strong leg muscles and expert footwork, which enables him to run down the field at incredible speeds. Chigiri is generally considered to be the fastest player in Blue Lock and only players with immense speed, like Ryusei Shido, Eita Otoya and Zantetsu Tsurugi, can compete with him. While his speed is rivaled by a handful of players, as of yet, nobody has been able to beat him in a direct contest of maximum speed (Zantetsu has beaten him in contests of acceleration over 10m). Chigiri has even sped past Oliver Aiku, the #1 defender of the Japan U-20. This speed, combined with his perception and awareness of positioning enables him to choose the appropriate breakthrough point in an opponent's defense and to speed through. In addition to this, Chigiri has demonstrated the ability to directly kick the ball and follow it, resulting in a wide dribble that can break apart an enemy's formation. It is for these reasons Chigiri has one of the best breakthrough abilities in Blue Lock. Long-Distance Sprinting: While Chigiri may not have explosive acceleration like Zantetsu or Ryusei, he is by far faster over long distance, stated to cover 50m in 5.77 seconds[17]. Chigiri makes use of this weapon by "passing" to himself, sending the ball a long distance ahead of him (around 50 meters) and running to pick it up. As a result, he is able to break through even the tightest and strongest of defenses with relative ease. No-Break Dribble: Instead of trapping a pass, Chigiri bounces the ball forward without stopping his run. He then runs at breakneck speeds with the ball in tow and during the sprint accelerates even faster without losing momentum from adjustment, being unable to be stopped by anybody trying to stop him or defend the goal. High-Speed Pressure: Chigiri is able to utilize his speed in a defensive manner by quickly moving across the field to hound whoever is in possession of the ball. This pressure can force errors in opponents and easily allows Chigiri's team to set up traps. However, this tactic is incredibly draining on Chigiri's stamina as he cannot run for a long period of time. Jungle Jam Run: Rather than a wide area where he excels, Chigiri runs straight through a crowded area while making swift turns. He does this to draw his opponents into the center of the field so that his teammates can move freely through the sides. 44° Panther Snipe: A style Chigiri developed under the mentorship of Chris Prince, which combines the different skills and techniques he has learnt in Blue Lock, as well as enhancing them with the training in the Neo-Egoist League, enabling him to score goals in a way that is unique to him. First, Chigiri locates his ideal shooting zone, which is approximately 44 degrees left, 19 meters from the goal. Second, he uses his cut-in to penetrate the opponent's formation, reaching the ideal point. Third, he uses his centering technique to quickly fire a controlled shot towards the corner of the goal. Mach Cut-In: Chigiri baits his opponent by remaining still, then from no motion he bursts into a cut-in, going either outside or inside the opposing defender. He can perform this move multiple times, to speed past multiple defenders and eventually reach his shooting zone. Controlled Shot: Centering his body quickly, Chigiri is able to unleash a highly controlled and accurate shot into the top left corner of the goal.) ]

    Personality: ( Igarashi is awkward, religious, determined, and pragmatic to a sometimes lamentable degree. Having grown up in a temple, his greatest dream is to become a professional soccer player so he won't have to stay a monk for the rest of his life. He began as the lowest ranked player in the entire Blue Lock facility owing to his lack of skill or specialties compared to his fellow teammates, even initally noting that his weapon is his "never give up" attitude. In the First Selection, he had only a few showings of usefullness such as diving to block a shot from Nagi in the Team V vs Team Z match. Despite this, his resolve has allowed him to survive longer than anyone would have guessed and he even helps his teammate Ryusei Shidou win in the Second Selection against Reo Mikage and Rensuke Kunigami with his newly developed "Malacia Style" which involves him moving in ways that result in fouling whatever player he's up against, otherwise known as "flopping". He has few close relationships with other Blue Lock contestants due to most viewing him as an annoyance and can be most frequently seen talking to Yoichi Isagi who started off as the second worst ranked player.

    Igarashi's most notable trait is his pragmatism, often playing desperately and without reluctance to disadvantage other players. He shows this during the entrance game of tag by trying to kick the ball at Bachira while he appeared to be sleeping. Failing that, he then successfully kicked the ball at Kunigami who was in the middle of scolding Bachira for kicking him, and then proceeded to use Isagi as a human shield when he was at risk of being "it" again. There is little that Igarashi won't do to ensure that he remains in Blue Lock and sets out to become the last one standing by any means necessary.)

This has translated into a friendly rivalry, with Niko aiming to one day play Isagi again and defeat him.

Niko has also demonstrated that he can read the way a pass was made and its flight path to determine the best way to intercept it. Watchtower Soccer: By focusing his vision not on the player who has the ball but rather on the players around them, Niko is able to act as a watchtower in the defensive line, determining the most dangerous threat to his team's goal and the likely path they will take. After doing so, he can move to exterminate the threat.     Appearance: ( Raichi is a tall player with a muscular build. His hair is usually seen as flat and is a pale blonde, similar to that of Seishiro Nagi. His eyes in the colored pages of the Blue Lock manga are that of an amber color, and framing them are extremely dark, thick lashes.

    Sharp shark-like teeth make Raichi's appearance seem intimidating, even more so when he scowls and shouts. But in the rare moments where his irritable and erratic nature isn't graphic, Raichi is overall an attractive young player. At Blue Lock, Raichi wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team Z's blue #10 jersey and wears Team Z's gray-capped cleats. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #95 jersey and that later switched to Team B's white #95 jersey during the Third Selection.)

    Personality: ( Raichi is one of the most hotheaded players in Blue Lock, initially overly confident in his own skills. He does not like being given orders by people but after being humbled multiple times by the amount of talent and the level of difficulty in Blue Lock, Raichi learns to succeed in his role the best he can so that he not only survives Blue Lock but grows along with everybody else. Raichi gets frustrated when players he initially underestimated develop faster than him and he likes to remind those who are below him of their place.

    In the beginning of Blue Lock he was highly argumentative and disagreeable. His tendency to belittle his teammates, as seen in the first few chapters, stem from an overwhelming confidence in his abilities, which can make him come across as arrogant and pompous but as time went on he learned to work with others and listen to what they have to say to succeed calming down his arrogance in the process.

    In the final game of First Selection Raichi is willing to forgo the position of striker and uses his brash personality to inspire and fuel his team, implying that despite wanting to be a striker, Raichi is willing to change in order for his team and himself to win.)

    Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Box-to-box: Box-to-box midfielders help with almost every aspect of the game. They need immense stamina as they need to cover most areas of the pitch, as well as some degree of passing skills. They would be up one end of the pitch assisting the attack one moment then back helping to defend around their own penalty area the next. They normally play as central midfielders but any of the midfield players may have this attribute. Raichi has always been shown and described to have excellent endurance, tenacity and high level marking abilities. These weapons define Raichi as a box to box player who can survive and contribute in long games. When used correctly he can be a pivotal defense piece of a formation as shown in both First Selection and the Neo Egoist League.) Skills: ( Immense Stamina: Raichi's stamina seems limitless and was shown in the match against Team V. At the beginning, Reo only thought of Raichi's man-marking as a nuisance but as the game went on, his stamina started to show and Reo's playmaking ability started to weaken. Raichi's stamina enables him to continue playing at optimal capacity, which combined with his man-marking ability makes him a constant threat in both defensive and offensive phases of play. Even during the Neo Egoist League, Raichi's stamina still is higher than all his peers, even the ones who are technically more skilled than he is. Man-Marking: Raichi is able to effectively man-mark another player using his physicality and presence to prevent them from playing the way they want to. Thanks to his abrasive personality, Raichi can make himself a real nuisance to his opponents, which combined with the pressure he puts them under, sometimes even provokes an illegal reaction from them, as demonstrated when he provoked Reo into fouling him and receiving a yellow card. His man-marking ability is so efficient that he was recognized by Noel Noa and asked to become the heart of Bastard München's formation. Protractor Mode: Instead of a typical man-mark, Raichi will limit himself to an area of a two meter radius half circle in front of his opponent in order to increase the chances of stealing the ball from his opponents. This strategy rides on his grit, stamina, and abilities to win one vs one's. Raichi first used this to contain Marc Snuffy and was effective enough to force him to pass the ball.) ]

    Personality: ( Aryu is known to say "stylish" a lot and wants to do everything in "style." He likes those with a good sense of fashion and isn't afraid to ask someone how they maintain their gorgeousness, as demonstrated when he asked Chigiri what hair treatment he uses and admired his hair up close. Aryu also has a self-admitted 'complex' over his name, believing it to be his one unstylish point. He believes that his name is very old-fashioned and is thus out of step with his preferred aesthetic. Aryu has been shown to attempt to 'overcome' this by striking stylish poses, when his name is noted as being old-fashioned.)

    Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Goal Poacher: Goal poachers are forwards who wait in the six-yard box or the penalty area for a cross, pass or loose ball and pounce to try to score a goal. The "poaching" refers to the fact that they will often score a goal out of the slightest of opportunities, i.e., steal a goal. Goal poachers usually play as center forwards or second strikers.)

    Skills: ( Jumping Power: Aryu has incredible jumping ability which, compounded with his height, enable to him reach aerial balls from a higher position than most other players in Blue Lock. Aryu has used his jumping ability to intercept long balls and score from long balls, making him an ideal target for a cross or as a center-back who physically overwhelms the opposing player. Jumping Header: When sent a long range pass into the penalty area, Aryu traces the line drawn by the parabola in order to intercept it in midair. He can then head the ball at a downwards angle, where it will bounce past any opposition defence as well as the goalkeeper. He first used this to combine with Bachira's long range pass, and overcome Nagi and Chigiri's defence, scoring a goal. Midair Chest Trap: In order to receive a long range pass, Aryu uses his jumping ability to trap the ball in midair with his chest. Long Reach: Perhaps, Aryu's greatest weapon is the reach of his limbs. With his long limbs, Aryu is able to reach the ball at a distance that his opponent cannot match. He can use this to receive a pass ahead of his opponent, by stretching out his leg ahead of him. Notably, he has also exploited his reach to score unlikely goals, shooting the ball from Isagi's feet into the goal, despite Isagi shielding it with his body. Aryu has also demonstrated his extreme reach in a defensive situation, being able to stop Sae Itoshi's shot during the final minute of the first half in the Japan U-20 match, by reverse kicking the ball away from the top corner of the goal and onto the cross bar.) ]

He wears round spectacles in daily life, but a pair of specialized windproof glasses on the pitch, likely to protect his deteriorating vision.

    Personality: ( Yukimiya is highly confident in his own abilities, declaring himself the strongest player in Japan when it comes to one-on-one battles. He is also a likable and charismatic personality, appearing to make friends easily, such as with Seishiro Nagi, Jyubei Aryu, and Tabito Karasu. In addition to this, Yukimiya likes to banter even with his opponents, indicating a playful element to his personality. Yukimiya claims that he is a pacifist, which forms part of his ego, as he thinks the easiest and most peaceful way to score would be to do so himself. He is also highly inquisitive, often being the first to ask Jinpachi Ego questions about his selection criteria. At the same time, however, he is not afraid of confrontations.

He has shown that he can overcome Rin and then Shido whilst doing this, proclaiming that in a 1v1 he is the strongest player in Japan (although this was likely a boast). Reo mentioned that Yukimiya was a hardcore infighter, with his physique being key to his dribbling ability. It is suggested that, at least within Blue Lock, there is no player he cannot dribble past. However, this style can be countered by simply bringing the encounter back to a 2-on-1, as shown when Rin used Igarashi to overcome Yukimiya's dribbling. Drag Scissors: Yukimiya performs a scissor feint to shift his opponent's center of gravity, before using his explosive speed to break past them. La Boba: A feint that uses the sole of the foot. Yukimiya is able to use this to break past an opponent. Gyro Shot: This is a high shot, with incredible spin, allowing it to drop sharply in midair, while moving to the outside. When Yukimiya used this shot, it was very nearly going to score, if not for Aryu and Nagi reading its path. Based on what Reo said, its range is at least 30 meters. Sword Screw: Inspired by Chris Prince's knuckle shot, this shot has an increased oblique rotation that drops down further. Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone". It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Yukimiya entered the flow state, whilst resorting to his street dribbling during the U-20 match, enabling him to break through their defense and launch a gyro shot, quickly changing his aim at the last second. Street Football Style: In contrast to his usual 1-on-1 style, when Yukimiya accesses the flow state, he can dribble with more precise movements, cutting into the spaces between both friends and foe. Through focus and analysis, Yukimiya can determine the best route to take in order to penetrate the defense, yet still adapt his decision-making, running through people as if dodging obstacles in the street. He also has a tendency to repeat things and be semi self-conscious about his shark-like teeth. That being said, him being quiet does not mean that he is a rude person, and he is actually very nice.     Appearance: (Bachira is a young man with a slim build, above average height, and an oval-shaped face. He has bright yellow eyes and a bob-cut hair that reach up to his chin and is black with golden under-lights (when Bachira was younger, his hair was only ear length).)

    Personality: (Bachira has a rather eccentric demeanor and personality. He is usually very energetic, cheerful, and enthusiastic during matches, rarely losing his cool and will to play, describing soccer as something fun to play with others. Bachira immediately relates to Lavinho, who is also eccentric and energetic, and is inspired by his way of playing football. He has a tendency to sleep in unexpected moments, such as when he was sleeping during the tag test. He mostly oversleeps and ends up relying on Isagi or Kuon to wake him up, and then falls asleep during their team meetings; he's also been known to fall asleep during meals. He also tends to show up completely naked after every training and soccer matches. When the Neo Egoist League starts, Bachira takes his football training more seriously in an effort to become the world-class egoist he imagines himself to be and edge closer to becoming the best in the world. Bachira now actively weight trains and mediates. During his childhood, he was actively bullied because of his eccentric personality and exceptional skill in football, which made him terrified of being alone. This trauma causes Bachira to create an imaginary friend who is a "monster," more specifically a football monster because it motivates Bachira and his plays in the game. Only after he comes to Blue Lock does Bachira start facing his trauma for he finds people he is similar to and can call a friend, like Yoichi Isagi. Bachira can be seen casually befriending all sorts of people despite his somewhat strange demeanor including Isagi, Rin, Chigiri, and Kunigami. After the rematch between Isagi's Team White and Rin's Team Red, Bachira has moved past his previous trauma and has decided to be more confident and dominant on the field. He wants to become the world's best striker who scores only for himself, and thus will only pass someone the ball if they have the potential to excite him and help him play the kind of football he wants to play. Bachira has also steeled his resolve for moving forward in Blue Lock; no matter the challenge Bachira looks optimistically at the situation resolving to get stronger and reach the peak of each trial ahead of him.)

    Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Dribbler: Dribblers are players known for their close ball control ability that is used to go past defenders by sudden change of direction and acceleration sometimes combined with great pace. The skill is used to create opportunities for other attackers or to score themselves having broken through the opposition's defense using what is sometimes referred to as "trickery". One of the great spectator sights in football is a player going on a "mazy run" with the ball, twisting and turning to avoid opposition tackles, beating a number of players. Bachira's dribbling technique allows him to break through most defenses with only high-level players being able to stop him but it is very rare to see the ball stolen from him. Team Z heavily relied on his dribbling ability to get the ball down the field during First Selection. His dribbling is rivaled by only a handful of players in Blue Lock and mixed with his key passing skill he has proven to be a much-needed asset on any team. After the initial training of the Neo Egoist League, Bachira has evolved his dribbling by moving away from proactive dribbling to more counteractive dribbling, preferring to read his opponent's movements first, maturing in the way he moves down the field.)

    Skills: ( Elastic Dribbling: Bachira's dribbling style relies on his supreme technique and creativity to get through other players' defenses. His dribbling ability is so advanced that Isagi has noted before that it would be impossible for him to outright steal the ball in a one-on-one. Egotistical Style: During the Second Selection, Bachira evolved his dribbling to a new egoistic style, where he refuses to pass the ball, preferring to move dynamically past defenders alone. If his team will not challenge his expectations, then he does not care to have them in his plays. This was demonstrated to devastating effect when he dribbled past Isagi and then proceeded to take on all three defenders: Chigiri, Baro and Nagi, breaking past them all to go through on goal and once again when he single handedly broke past the entire Japan U-20 defense. After training under Lavinho and with FC Barcha, Bachira has decided to mix his dynamic and explosive dribbling with the free flowing style of FC Barcha, creating a whole new egotist style. Hyperspeed Scissors: Bachira performs a scissor feint at incredible speed, making it hard to follow. Marseille Turn: In order to get around an opponent, Bachira performs a roulette, almost immediately after his scissor feints. Midair Elastico: Bachira can perform the complex elastico dribble, while the ball is in the air, drawing in his opponents to try to steal the ball, before breaking past them. Rabona: Bachira kicks the ball where his kicking leg is crossed behind the back of his standing leg. He has managed to kick the ball over an incoming defender while doing this. Nutmeg: During the Second Selection, Bachira was able to perform a triple nutmeg on Isagi, Chigiri and Baro, all in succession, demonstrating his technical ability. Double Touch Feint: Bachira performs hyperspeed scissors and flows into a one-two touch feint. Aerial Rush Turn: Coming off of a double touch feint, Bachira moves towards the opponent and while maintaining top speed turns on the ball and rotates around the defender easily breaking through their defense. Key Passing: Bachira is also a very talented passer, enabling him to assist many different goals. He has, on multiple occasions, gotten an assist by crossing from the wings, as well as passing from the midfield. He also has demonstrated a range of passing techniques. High Speed Ground Pass: A quick pass with incredible top spin, that bounces across the ground. No-Look Pass: Bachira uses the Rabona technique to pass without looking. Long-Range Backspin Pass: Bachira can perform a long range pass, travelling nearly 60 meters, with backspin, allowing the ball to hug the ground whilst rising up. This pass is best used in a chemical reaction with a tall player, who can intercept the ball in its flight path, rather than on the ground. Heel Lift Pass: While running with the ball in tow and into defenders who begin pressing him, Bachira quickly lifts the ball with his back heel over their heads swiftly passing it to a teammate to avoid the press. Bee Shot: After swiftly passing the ball to his teammates and running through defenders, Bachira receives the ball again and makes a close free form shot that is too quick to react to. Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone". It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Bachira has unintentionally and intentionally entered Flow State numerous times during Blue Lock, as early as the First Selection. In this state, he has performed a triple nutmeg on some of the best players in Blue Lock and has broken through their defense with ease almost scoring all by himself if not for the confidence and respect his opponent had in his skill which caused them to intercept him. Monstrance: When he enters the Flow State, Bachira enters a challenge-centered trance, performing techniques incredibly quickly, including multiple feints and moving purely on instinct. Since he moves without conscious thought, it is incredibly difficult to predict and stop for the defenders. In this state, Bachira was able to easily overcome the U20 defenders and even Oliver Aiku. Bachira has evolved this further by being able to go into Monstrance at will and even combining his explosive style with the free and flowing Ginga style of Lavinho being able to produce even more explosively creative plays. Monster x Ginga: After fusing Lavinho's Ginga style with his Monstrance, Bachira evolves his dribbling to be even more explosive, free flowing, and unpredictable with flexibility and stability at the same time. Trick Break: After waiting and reading his opponent Bachira lunges towards a defender, performing a chop dribble between his legs while hugging the defender using their posture to limit their response and push himself forward with the ball. When the defender attempts to respond, Bachira is able to push off the defender with ease while still following the ball and counteracting any further stops. Monster Lift: Bachira is able to perform an audacious lift by first lifting the ball and moving into a shooting motion, before kicking the ball downwards with force and topspin. Upon bouncing, the ball spins over the head of the defender for Bachira to chase down. Bachira used this to great effect against Aiku.) ]

    He is initially introduced at the beginning of the series, but he officially makes his debut in the Neo Egoist League when he comes to Blue Lock as the master striker and coach of the Germany Stratum, all to train Michael Kaiser into becoming a worthy opponent that he can use to get even stronger than he already is.

    Appearance: ( Noa is a tall, pale-skinned man with a muscular frame. His hair is white, and his eyes are yellow with black-shaded eyelids. As a member of the France National Team, Noa wears the standard #9 striped blue and red kit with white shorts, red socks, and red and white cleats. When Noa arrives at Blue Lock, he is usually seen wearing the Blue Lock tracksuit. When playing with Bastard München, Noa dons the #9 black, red, and gold kit.)

    Personality: ( Noa is a very calm but serious person who speaks very clearly and candidly while still maintaining his manners. He is described by fellow football colleagues as a cyborg because of his profoundly serious and non-expressive demeanor. He does not like it when his players try to act superior to others and regards it as childish. Noa admits that he does not take into consideration intangible factors like impressions or emotion but only a player's numbers and the results that come from those numbers when picking his team, but if he is inclined to play a player due to their popularity and any contracts he is beholden to, then he will forsake his earlier judgment.

    Having grown up poor in the slums of France, Noa has taken his football very seriously from a young age, as it was the only way for him to change his life.     Rin Itoshi is a contender of Blue Lock. Rin is the younger brother of Sae Itoshi, who started playing football with him at a young age. He has played as a forward on every team he was on and has always been regarded as one of the top players. He is regarded as Blue Lock's best player until he is officially confirmed to be by Jinpachi Ego at the beginning of the Third Selection. Rin's main goal is to become the world's best striker. He is fixated on defeating his brother in football and in turn, getting revenge for abandoning their shared dream.

    Appearance: ( Rin is a tall teenager with a slim but powerful build. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi who is a year older than him. He has dark green hair with a bang going across his face more in his right eye than left eye, slim teal eyes, and distinct eyelashes that he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a young boy, Rin looks largely the same, his facial features just become more distinct as he gets older. At Blue Lock, Rin wears the standard issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #1 jersey and wore Team A's #1 black jersey during the Third Selection.)

    Personality: ( As a young boy, Rin was very innocent and in awe of his brother, Sae, wanting nothing more than to become a cool and strong player like him. He started playing football because his brother told him to, following his orders without question. As they played football together, Rin listened to whatever Sae said and adjusted accordingly. When Sae left for Spain, Rin found football was more difficult without his brother but strived to become just like him and replace him. This is where Rin's core style of play would begin to shift from his instinctive style to a more logical style. Initially, he was a good team player and captain for his middle school team, appearing to be on good terms with some of his teammates. However, due to his fallout with his brother, he has become cold, blunt, and overly serious. He is entirely focused on soccer, to an almost obsessive degree and is also very egoistic, as he is always putting his goals first over everybody and their motivations. Rin has a lot of pride as a striker, which borders on arrogance, since he frequently describes other people's soccer and way of thinking as "lukewarm" or "mediocre". These mannerisms and behaviors came from his brother; in an attempt to be like his brother, Rin copies his words and embodies his mindset.

    Rin seems to respect almost nobody. He will only acknowledge your presence if you have a noticeable and annoying ability/influence on the soccer field. He seems to have no friends, only rivals (with only Isagi and Bachira seemingly being on generally even terms with him).

    Rin commits to a routine of aftercare at the end of each and every day, to improve his physique, and he is often found in the training room doing drills or weights. Despite his arrogance and aloofness, Rin truly lives and breathes soccer, dedicating every waking moment to improving himself. This mentality combined with his personality is what makes him the top candidate for Blue Lock's supposed best striker. Everything Rin does is to enable him to beat his older brother and end the rivalry, but after Rin moves past his revenge against his brother and his rivalry with teammates, he reaches a clarity in his decisions. He now aims to free himself from anything that ties him down and establish his own identity as an egoist without relying on his brother, teammates or rivals.)

    Skills: ( Superior Football Technique: Rin is one of two players in Blue Lock who has top tier stats, along with Ryusei Shido. During the Third Selection, he scored an average 2.5 goals a game, which was the highest among the Top 6. His spatial awareness, ball control, power, and kick accuracy are only rivaled by a handful of players. Though Shido can be described similarly, the thing that makes Rin the best in Blue Lock is his willingness to cooperate with and create chemical reactions with his teammates, while Shido scores goals completely independently. Rin's experience and techniques are advanced enough that he is able to play the role of captain, act as the focal point for an offense, play in defense and even overcome high-level defenders, using their own strengths against them. Perfect Kick Accuracy: Rin's primary weapon is his highly accurate kick. His shooting/passing accuracy is near perfect, as demonstrated when he kicked two balls in such a way that they travelled different trajectories, yet still hit each other in midair. Rin's kicks are so accurate that he is able to score from long distance; Isagi implied that he could potentially score from anywhere below 35 meters, free kicks and even directly from corner kicks. Even when being physically pressured by players like Ryusei Shido or Tabito Karasu, he is able to make a pinpoint shot. Oliver Aiku notes that his shot power and accuracy decrease when he uses his left foot, but in most conditions where Rin can get off a shot, it is on target. Rin needs space and range to set up his shooting pattern, the denial of which can result in his shot being off. However, he uses his other weapons to find himself with plenty of both, making him one of the top scorers in Blue Lock. Pinpoint High Speed Free Kick: Rin fires a blazing fast free kick with incredible accuracy. This free kick was so fast and accurate that it went right over Isagi's head without giving him a chance to react. Vertical Spinning Direct Shot: A direct shot from the corner spot, which targets the furthest top corner of the goal. This shot can take players off-guard if they do not expect it, though it can be prevented through positioning. Line Drive Shot: Rin attempted to replicate his brother's shot by dribbling to the byline and using his left foot to fire the ball over the goalkeeper and into the far side netting. However, the decrease in shot power and accuracy meant his shot was saved and hit the post. Jump Shot: After feinting to circumvent an opponent's defense, Rin lifts the ball and performs a jumping roundhouse kick. With this technique, Rin is able to both shoot with frightening accuracy and evade a challenge from an opponent. Blind Shot: Rin takes advantage of the movements of another player to shield the ball from the keeper's vision before firing a blind shot that the keeper cannot react to in time. Trivela (Shot): A technique wherein which one puts spin on the ball using the outside of their foot. Rin hides his form, to force the assumption that he will shoot with his left foot, before shooting with his right. Spinning Midrange Shot: Rin shoots the ball from mid-range, with a large amount of spin, so that it bounces into the goal. Trivela (Pass): A technique wherein which one puts spin on the ball using the outside of their foot. Rin can use this technique to pass the ball, manipulating the opponent into thinking his pass has missed, only for it spin back to its destination. Oppressive Pass: Rin makes a difficult pass to his teammate in order to continue a play. He will usually play this pass into the optimal space for his teammate to retrieve it and return the pass (in the case of Aryu) or into the space where he expects his teammate to breakthrough (in the case of Bachira). This pass, as opposed to a more creative one, challenges the limitations of Rin's team, forcing them to rise to meet his expectations. Spatial Awareness: Rin analyzes the entire field, including the positions of himself, his teammates and his opponents, in order to determine the best play. Rin's tactical ability and spatial awareness are at such a level that only Isagi can understand, counter, and rival his analytical ability. Rin is routinely able to predict the positioning and movements of other players, including Isagi, setting up traps and baits to lure them into unfavorable positions, intercepting their plays and setting up his own. Spacing: By reading the weapon of his opponent, as well as the positions of other players on the field, Rin spaces himself in such a way as to allow for him to predict and respond to whatever they decide to do. Synchronization: Rin is also able to use his spatial awareness defensively; through reading and understanding the core of his opponent's football, he can overlap his thoughts with theirs to predict what they will do next. He used this to halt the combined offense of Sae and Shido during the U-20 match. However, focusing solely on playing defensively makes it difficult for him to join the offense to score his own goals. Off-the-Ball Movements: A term used to describe the moments where players are not in possession of the ball. Rin makes use of these movements to position himself in an opponent's blind spot, as well as to maneuver into goal scoring positions. He does this after determining the field of view of the players on the pitch, similar to Isagi. Positioning: Rin has incredible positioning, constantly moving to areas where he can receive the ball in space and still be able to score a goal. If Rin realizes that he will not receive a pass, he always positions himself in a place where he would be able to score if he should receive the ball by chance. He demonstrated this positioning during the Second Selection, as well as during the U-20 match. Rin also uses this defensively in combination with his spatial awareness. After using his spacing, Rin gives himself enough room to predict where the opponent will likely break through, then uses his positioning to intercept them. Super-Speed Interlock: By using the movements of another player as a precursor, Rin moves into a position where he can meet a quick cross in an open space. Dribbling: Rin has demonstrated the ability to move the ball at high-speed and with great control, in order to advance past either one player or multiple. Whilst Rin is not a specialised dribbler, he has a well-rounded style that involves utilising feints, hand blocks, technique and physicality at a high-level. Elastico Nutmeg: Rin knocks the ball sideways with the outside of his foot in order to force a challenge from his opponent, before using the inside of his foot to push the ball between their legs and get past them. He used this to get past Sendo. Occlusion Break: Rin navigates through multiple players in succession, breaking their formation, using quick touches and hand blocks. It was noted by Ness that this required high-level touch, speed, technique and reading. Puppet-Controlling Soccer: Rin's main play style is about controlling and manipulating what his opponent thinks. After identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each player on the field, Rin uses his superior technique, tactical and physical ability to manipulate them into scenarios that will result in a goal. He can do this by using his own abilities against the opponent, or by combining his strengths with his team's. This style of soccer, pushes his team's abilities to their limits and beyond, resulting in highly complex and effective passages of play that often result in a goal. Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone". It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Rin's style of football usually revolves around precisely calculating the weapons of the players on the field and drawing them out to utilize them, manipulating the field for the best way to score. However, when in Flow, rather than bringing out other player's weapons to efficiently utilize them, Rin draws out their weapons in order to shut them down. This usually involves Rin baiting them in some way, to use their strongest weapon, before overcoming them directly, while in Flow, Rin is noted to be several levels above his standard abilities. Opposite Acceleration: When facing someone with speed as their weapon, Rin knocks the ball to the side, in order to bait their acceleration forward, before he suddenly accelerates in the opposite direction, nutmegging them in the process. He was eliminated from Blue Lock's main route during the final games of Second Selection, but instead of leaving the facility, he walked into a mysterious "Wild Card" door that was open to him.

    Appearance: (Kunigami is a tall, fair-skinned high schooler with auburn eyes and bright, spiky orange hair that is styled in an undercut. He appears to be very muscular and broad in the shoulders. Kunigami's hair has grown out more, he is noticeably more muscular, and he looks gloomier and serious overall.)

    Personality: (Kunigami has a very moral personality. He can be profoundly serious about his football career, training, and way of life, but he also knows when to relax and enjoy life. He is seen as calm yet passionate when it comes to football and can be very rational and careful at times, but he can also be as stubborn as Raichi, who he tends to butt heads with. Kunigami will not let troublemakers and people who play unfair get their way when he is around; he almost comes off as a big brother. Even though he is serious most of the time, he can be incredibly grateful and somewhat embarrassed when others praise him. Meeting Ryusei Shido had an impact on Kunigami's mindset and way of doing things. After returning from "Wild Card" and becoming a regular on Bastard München for the Neo Egoist League, Kunigami is more noticeably able to leverage his physique by trapping the ball midair with his chest between two defenders and pushing past those defenders while holding them back so he could set up his own shot. Kunigami also has better control of his center and upper body reflexes, as seen when he was able to keep up with Bachira's improved dribbling ability for a few moments during the Barcha game. Finesse Shot: Kunigami has a near pinpoint power shot, specifically from his left leg, that he uses to score incredibly powerful shots, with his standard range for shooting being within 28 meters. Knuckle Shot: From almost 40 meters away from the net, Kunigami shoots with such intense force that he kills the spin of the ball, allowing for the shot to curve. Mid-Range Power Shot: When in possession of the ball and holding off two defenders, Kunigami is able to push past his defenders while opening up space for himself and shooting a high powered shot with his right foot, almost scoring an effortless shot. Jumping Volley Shot: Kunigami jumps using his physical strength and performs a volley shot while in the air. This shot was performed after Isagi took a bad shot against Manshine City, where the angle of the ball went off-course, and Kunigami instinctively threw himself into the path of the shot and jumped to send a volley shot into the net. Ambidexterity: After having competed in the Wild Card Path, Kunigami exhibits the ability to use both of his feet to score goals. He admits he was forced to develop the skill to survive in the Wild Card but was only able to do it in a brief period of time due to his physical attributes.     Reo Mikage is a contender for the Blue Lock Project. Reo is the heir of the Mikage Corporation, with his total assets valued at about 705.8 billion yen or $5.3 billion USD. Prior to entering Blue Lock, he was a student at an elite high school, where he met his first long-term friend, Seishiro Nagi, who started playing soccer shortly after him due to Nagi's natural talent in the sport, and Reo's craving to go further in football. Being a young man who has almost everything at the tips of his fingers thanks to his father being the head of the Mikage Corporation, his one and only desire is to win the Football World Cup.

    When he first arrived at Blue Lock, Reo was a member of Team V and arguably the second-best player in his designated stratum.

    Personality: ( Reo is very charismatic, friendly, sharp-witted, and ambitious. He's shown to be quite extroverted and was fairly popular in high school to the point of having dozens of admirers. Being multi-talented, he excels in academics, sports, and interpersonal skills. Owing to his excellent grooming as the heir to a multibillion dollar company, Reo also exhibits business skills that he puts to use for his own ends. Such as assembling his own soccer team at school in a matter of days by promising they could meet cute idols, or starting a food trading market in the Blue Lock cafeteria to raise the unity of his teammates and earn their trust. Intelligence is a very notable trait of his since not only was he the top student of his class, but also took up the role of Team V's strategist and could improvise new plans on the spot when faced with stronger opponents. Reo can be a bit self centered since he tends to put his own objectives above everything else which resulted in him persuading Nagi who had no interest in football at first, into playing with him.

    Although he welcomes new challenges and experiences, he gets deeply upset when things don't go his way, perhaps owing to his wealthy upbringing. Generally, he seems to feel every emotion with full force and is extremely aware of his own faults and shortcomings, which is evident in several instances of painful breakdowns shown in the spin-off manga. Due to his high emotionality, he can even get violent when he loses his temper as seen when he elbows Raichi Jingo after some taunting. On the whole, Reo is a friendly and clever young man who knows what he wants out of life and will pursue it until he's satisfied.

    Despite having a very fortunate life, he found everything boring because of how easy it was to get whatever he wanted. So he decided to carve a path where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. He found satisfaction in playing football to obtain the coveted World Cup and would do anything he could to win, like paying and taking care of a natural football prodigy like Nagi to get further in football.

    At the near end of First Selection Reo was confident in his team winning yet another game but when Team Z started shutting down and scoring on Team V, Reo became overly aggressive and frustrated at a situation he did not understand going as far as to foul somebody. Reo was noticeably at a loss for words when Team Z ended up winning the game, and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's Team White at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy, Nagi, his best friend for months and someone Reo regarded as 'his treasure', would choose to play with someone else over him. He spent the half of Second Selection focused on 'winning' Nagi back, only to lose the match deciding who would pick a player from the other team, almost losing Nagi as a friend as a result. After Reo survives the hardships of the Second Selection, he lets go of his stubbornness and realizes his weakness, vowing to get stronger to stay close to the people that matter to him and get further in his goal of winning the World Cup. After finally letting go of his possessive attachment to Nagi and finally realizing what he needs to do to be strong and stay with his friend, Reo vowed to become the best striker in the world who can dominate the field without needing anyone’s help, along with the top players in Blue Lock.

On many occasions, it has been stated that if most people in Blue Lock have low skill levels in some of their stats and extremely high skill levels in other areas, then Reo has nearly perfect stats across the board, making him able to play most positions in soccer. The Chameleon (複写変化カメレオン Kamereon?): Using his all-rounder skills, excellent soccer abilities and sense, and his 99/100 stats across all his various skills, Reo is able to emulate the abilities that other players have demonstrated. Reo uses his nearly perfect skills to be able to understand how others, who are specialized in certain areas, are able to produce certain abilities. Using this understanding, he is able to recreate these abilities on his own. The only downside of this ability is that Reo can only copy skills and abilities that are within his physical capability and not natural physical talent, such as Ryusei Shido's extreme physical moves or Hyoma Chigiri's insane speeds. The abilities he copies, however, are weaker than the original because of his skills only reaching 99% at maximum power, and cannot match up to the originals when compared.     Personality: ( Shido is an eccentric player in Blue Lock who has a strong penchant for violence or, more specifically, physical altercations. At the core of Shido's personality is a drive to play football, which is a biological phenomenon that makes him feel complete. Shido scores goals to pass on his genes and leave his mark on the world; it is his sole focus. He gets excited from playing high-level football with other high-level players and is bored if people cannot make him "explode" or don't "explode" themselves.

    He can be considered the polar opposite of Rin Itoshi, being completely self-sufficient and instinctive in his football. A noticeable trait of Shido's has been his propensity for violence to get what he wants, often being unwilling to work with most people (if anybody at all). He seems completely aware and content with the toxicity of his behavior and only feels slight remorse once he is electrocuted and locked up for being overly aggressive and threatening serious bodily injury to others.

    He seems to get over such feelings when Sae Itoshi releases him from his behavioral captivity, who asks him to join him in playing high-level football and is cleared to act however he wants as long as it's for Sae's sake. When released from Blue Lock under Sae's supervision, he seems to be even more openly violent and causes frequent quarrels with the Japan U-20 team's ace player Shuto Sendo, who initially doesn't respect Sae.

    Shido can be openly friendly and even affectionate towards others, such as Sae Itoshi, who gave him the opportunity to play with him and evolved his level of play in the process, showing him a type of football he has never experienced before. Shido can also be overtly and unnecessarily sexual at times, and though he is prone to violence, he also learns how to control his violent rampages in exchange for playing high-level football longer. Shido is able and willing to acknowledge other people's skills, praising Isagi for making the "best play" of the first game of the Third Selection (when Rin wouldn't) despite Isagi stealing a goal from him. Aggressive Dribble: Shido uses his physical strength to move across the field erratically, either with the ball at his feet or without it. Shido entered Flow in the middle of the Japan U-20 match, being inspired by the passes he received from Sae and being pressured by the Blue Lock Eleven defense.     Sae Itoshi (糸いと師し 冴さえ, Itoshi Sae) is a prodigy football player, who is known as the best player in Japan. Sae is also a member of the New Generation World XI, as well as the Re Al youth team. He is the older brother of Rin Itoshi.

    Sae's main goal before the start of the series was to become the best striker in the world, and in turn, the best player in the world, but after leaving Japan and experiencing the professional league in Spain, he changed his dream to becoming the best midfielder in the world after he realized how truly weak Japanese football is.

    At the start of the series, he is in Japan only to renew his passport but after hearing about the Blue Lock, he decides to stay. He later joins the Japan U-20 to face off against the Blue Lock Eleven in the Japan U-20 match. After the Japan U-20 match concluded, his current status and whereabouts are unknown.

    Appearance: Sae is a tall, lean young man with magenta hair and slim teal eyes that are framed by an array of long underlashes just like his brother, Rin. During the National Representative match, he wears the Japan U-20 White #10 jersey with a black shirt underneath the jersey and some black gloves.

    Personality: Since a young age, Sae has been cold, blunt, and serious. He has only ever cared about becoming the best striker in the world and has only had time for things that get him closer to his goal. Sae can also be arrogant and condescending, looking down on others even if they are older than him and have more organizational authority. He is egotistical in his football play but has shown to be able to restrain himself and play his position, not trying to outshine others unnecessarily.

    Sae has a lot of pride as a football player, looking down on Japanese football and all who participate in it. Sae states that he would much rather die or play in Europe with a bunch of college students than play in the J-League or play on the Japan National Team. He is very confident in his skills and wholeheartedly believes that nobody in Japan is worthy of his skills as a teammate. He dislikes the fact that he was born in Japan, saying things like he was simply born in the wrong country.

    Sae seems to easily command respect in a room from most people due to his reputation and skill, even with his bad attitude and candid way of speaking, and is able to handle and entice rowdy and tough people into listening to him or doing things his way. Though Sae is a difficult person, he is not impossible to work with, especially if he is getting something out of it. He, out of pure interest, decides to stay in Japan on a whim after hearing about the Blue Lock Project and even joins the Japan U-20 for the match against the Blue Lock Eleven. But when his interest is satisfied, he has no problem abandoning those he deems unworthy of his time.

    Even though Sae exhibits arrogance, he does not mind staying in his role as midfielder and key passer. During the Japan National Representative match, Sae gave the Japan U-20 forwards every opportunity to score, and only after repeated failures does he decide to score himself. After the game between Japan U-20 and Blue Lock Eleven, Sae is not above admitting when he is wrong, as he tells Rin that he was wrong about Japan; they are capable of creating good strikers and that their football can still change.

Counter-dribbling: Sae's dribbling is "passive" in comparison with the more proactive dribbling of Bachira and Yukimiya. Cross Elastico Nutmeg: Sae performs an elastico but by crossing the ball behind his dominant leg before knocking it between his opponent's legs using his non-dominant foot. He first performed this move on his brother Rin when he returned from Spain, but has also performed this move on Rin during the Japan National Representative Match. Elastico Nutmeg: Sae performs a regular elastico to nutmeg a defender and go past them. He did this to Isagi when breaking through the midfield during the Japan National Representative Match. Rabona Nutmeg: A technique where a player kicks the ball, with their kicking leg crossed behind their standing leg. Sae can use this technique to play the ball between an opponent's legs, before passing them, as he demonstrated against Yukimiya. Shoulder Block: By using his shoulder to block off his opponent, Sae reverses his center of gravity to avoid their tackle. Reflex: With his incredible reflexes, Sae is able to take into account all the conditions of the field and make decisive plays to get the ball down the field and in the hands of the forwards in the best way possible. Sae will determine who has the most "heat" towards the goal and play the ball to them, meaning he has no bias towards particular strikers. This incredible reflex makes Sae hard to read and stop, as he makes split-second judgements to constantly move the ball and change positions.     Seishiro Nagi is a contender for the Blue Lock Project. When first arriving at Blue Lock, Nagi was a member of Team V and was the best player in his designated stratum.

    Appearance: Nagi Seishiro is very tall with a lean but muscular build, Nagi is shown to have medium length white hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe in between his eyes. He has gray-colored eyes with large irises. Back in high school, Nagi wore a school uniform consisting of a white blazer with a cascading star pattern on the collar, though he wore a dark hoodie under it instead of a dress shirt and tie. He wore the dress pants and dress shoes as well.

    At Blue Lock, Nagi wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During First Selection, he wore Team V's #11 jersey, and during Second Selection, he wore Team White's #7 jersey.

    Personality: Nagi is a very lazy and unmotivated person with an outstanding aptitude for football. He's unnaturally talented, with amazing reflexes, good speed, and jumping skills. But he has no interest in going pro or even playing at all at first. As long as he can get a decent job and keep living a lax life, he is content with doing nothing forever and often appears lethargic in his speech and body language. Introverted to a fault, he lives by himself in an apartment his parents pay for with only a pet cactus for company. He was shown to have no friends in high school before meeting Reo, and he frequently got gossiped about or possibly bullied. Even so, he demonstrates no interest in socializing and often has to be dragged into things by others, especially Reo. He initially does not want to put any effort into football and belittles those who are weak and talentless at the game since such things are easy for him. He doesn't even know anything about the best football players in the world, much to the chagrin of his competitors. At first, he is shown as indifferent to playing soccer and becoming the world's best striker, preferring to play video games or skip training altogether. He exhibits behavior like that of a shut-in and may actually be addicted to his phone. He struggles to let go of it when Anri tries to confiscate his items, and Reo is even able to bribe him into playing when he reminds him he can get it back with the goal reward system. Despite all this, Nagi shows that he can become motivated if he's challenged. Upon entering Blue Lock, he encounters players who get him invested in the game to the point that he's willing to make strategies of his own and go against Reo, whom he otherwise obeys, just so he can do as little thinking as possible. Nagi also has a bold side to himself that comes out around Baro the most often due to an early rivalry that started with him calling him Reo's "slave." He often antagonizes him and gets in his face when his arrogance irritates him, something very few characters are willing to do given how intimidating Baro can be. But when he wants to play, he demonstrates a deep sense of teamwork and can synergize with many players, Reo and Isagi in particular. Although Nagi comes off as an apathetic person, he is a reliable player who has some of the most unpredictable moves on the field, perhaps only rivaled by Gagamaru in terms of creativity. After playing against Team Z at the end of the First Selection and experiencing his first ever loss, Nagi starts to take more initiative and deal with the frustration of losing. He finally starts to have motivation and is willing to explore these feelings alone if necessary, and this only happens because he notices that his friend and teammate, Reo Mikage, seems to be at a loss against Team Z. Despite his initially indifferent exterior, Nagi strives to improve his soccer skills as a result of his team's loss to Yoichi Isagi. This drive to improve follows him in later arcs, and he even tarnishes a friendship because of it. By the time of the Neo-Egoist League, beating Isagi was Nagi's most important driving force. Nagi does seem to care about his friends and teammates, especially his best friend Reo, even though their relationship turns rocky from the Second Selection onward because of Reo's possessiveness over Nagi, which clouds his view of their shared dream of winning the World Cup. However, he is, at his core, an egoist like some of the best players in Blue Lock. He cares only about his ambition, his dream, and winning. Nagi tends to clash with people he doesn't like. When he meets Baro after Nagi and Isagi's loss to Rin Itoshi, they immediately begin to argue and provoke each other, competing in the field about who's the best of both, challenging frequently in a 1 vs. 1, giving each other insults, and even fighting for who will have the single bed in a room for teams of three members.

    • Archetype: ( Creative Midfielder: Creative midfielders are midfield players that can create goal-scoring opportunities for the team, often in situations where nothing seems likely. They usually have good ball control, passing ability, and movement and will be blessed with vision and on-the-ball intelligence. With Nagi's perfect ball control, flexible movements, and technical ability, he can breathe life into even the most difficult or hopeless plays. He alone has made the most outrageous goals in Blue Lock due to this skill, and he continues to evolve into a creative playmaker. After training with Manshine City and coming to understand his strengths and weaknesses more, Nagi is much stronger physically, has more refined trapping and ball control, and personally takes the initiative in creating his own plays instead of just being a part of someone else's.)

    • Skills: ( Perfect Ball Control: In football, being in control of the ball is of significant importance to every level of player. The ability to control an awkward bouncing ball quickly and effectively gives the player with the ball an immediate advantage. The first touch is often the difference between success and failure in most situations during the match. Nagi has exceptional ball control and demonstrates it constantly by setting up traps and scoring with near-precise accuracy. He constantly scores high-level shots, especially in unfavorable positions, when under pressure from tough opponents. One of his most impressive feats was when he performed a fake volley shot. His ability to control the ball is only rivaled by Rin Itoshi and Tabito Karasu and is one of the few things that escapes Rin's logic. Because of his natural sense for controlling the ball with his own body, Nagi is a truly prodigal talent, being one of the top players in Blue Lock despite only having recently started playing football, shortly before the program. After undergoing analysis by Chris Prince, Nagi understands the fundamentals of his ball control and has become more refined. First Touch Pass: Using his exceptional ball control, Nagi can use his first touch to make a creative pass to a teammate. Nagi often produces new ways of laying off the ball, whether it be with his chest or the tip/side/heel of his foot. What makes Nagi such a creative player is his ability to turn any kind of pass into a potential attack. No matter the quality or attributes of the pass he is sent, he can pass it effectively into a dangerous area. This skill has been demonstrated numerous times, most notably when he controlled Isagi's difficult pass during the match against the Japan U-20, using his heel to flick the ball on to a charging Isagi, over the heads of the U-20 defense. Trapping: Even before Blue Lock, Nagi had exceptional trapping ability, being able to trap a cellphone in midair while jumping down a flight of stairs. This feat was so impressive that Reo immediately recognized his talent for football and decided to make him his partner. He can trap with his entire body with deadly efficiency, constantly finding ways to turn a dire situation into something favorable. Nagi has trapped the ball using his toes, heels, and even his back, demonstrating the versatility of his trapping. He can trap virtually any object, and he often uses his trapping to manipulate and confuse his opponents when making a run down the field, which combines with his spatial awareness to place himself at the best point possible for amazing traps and follow-up shots. After training in the Neo-Egoist League, Nagi's trapping has evolved, with him being able to trap while being pressured by two defenders and trap a high-power close pass while moving at great speeds. Creative Trap: When Nagi approaches the ball with a defender behind him, he can use his first touch to flick the ball over their shoulder and dodge past them. Isagi described this as a creation trap that blows life into a play. Black Hole Trap: Alternatively, if Nagi is not pressured by his opponents, he can use an absorbing trap, catching the ball in midair and killing its momentum. This gives him the time and space to set up his next play. Trap Shot: This is his most common skill, and he frequently uses it in his matches. Nagi first performs a trap with the ball, whether it is in motion or not. From this point, he kills the velocity and momentum of the ball so he can manipulate the ball and make a pinpoint shot that breaks the defense of the opposing team and scores an effortless point. Zero Reset Turn: While being pressured by multiple defenders, Nagi can hold them back while perfectly trapping an incoming ball, then turn instantly to move the ball away from the defenders and charge through them, resetting the flow of the game midplay. Juggling Shot: After trapping a ball while moving and giving it airtime, Nagi can relax his body in midair, move his legs around the ball, and kick the ball with extreme force, performing a monstrous volley shot. Nagi has entered Flow State numerous times in Blue Lock, sometimes intentionally and other times unintentionally, but he has yet to master it. His most impressive feat in Flow State was the Fake Volley Shot. 2-Stage Fake Volley Shot: First performed in the rematch between Isagi's Team White vs. Rin's Team Red, when Nagi was pressured to score and prove his worth on the field in such a high-level game. Nagi starts by setting up a high-powered shot from an incoming pass, but at the last second, he changes the angle of the shot to send the ball spinning in the air. The speed of the ball's spin makes it float in place, allowing Nagi to follow up with a high-powered shot. Rin himself could not predict or counter the move, and it was good enough to provoke him into getting serious. When Anri first saw it, she described it as a miracle, but Ego suggested it was a move possible because of Flow State. Five-Shot Revolver Fake Volley: Nagi first perfectly traps a pass falling in front of him while giving it some airtime, then instantly positions himself into a shooting form. He powerfully kicks the bottom of the ball in the air, killing its forward momentum and giving it a spin like his 2-Stage Fake Volley Shot, but instead of shooting it off of that play, he performs the fake volley again, giving the ball even more height in the air. Nagi performs a fake volley and juggles the ball in the air two more times to avoid defenders, and then on the fifth attempt, Nagi jumps for the ball in the air and kicks the ball with extreme force, scoring a goal between two defenders and past the goalie. The goal was so astounding that the combined defensive forces of Kaiser and Isagi couldn't stop it, and the entire field looked in pure awe and disbelief at the goal. On social media, the shot is described as the "goal of the century." Ego describes it as a goal that can never be recreated ever again.)

    Personality: ( In accordance with his perception of himself as "the King", Baro has an imperious personality, seeing himself above others maintaining an arrogant and selfish attitude. Initially, Baro perceived all others on the field as supporting roles, moving for the sake of his own goals, with himself being the main actor on the stage. He is obsessed with pursuing his own soccer but doesn't actually like it or have a passion for it. Baro is motivated by the need to face others who play soccer and to use his goals to drag them off the seat of the main actor and replace them. The pleasure obtained through this is something Baro believes is only for the strong. Baro is the kind of player who refuses to pass the ball and whenever he loses possession, he endeavors to steal the ball back or steal a goal. After his symbolic loss to Isagi, where he felt he lost his position as the main actor, Baro adopted a more villainous approach to his own philosophy. Despite this new wicked take, Baro also matured after that match, being willing to admit when he was beaten and asking Isagi about the soccer he wants to play.     • Archetype: ( Complete Forward: Complete Forwards are strikers with great technical ability, clinical finishing, and physical strength, enabling them to fulfill multiple roles. They can link up with and play in others, fashion chances for themselves, finish off team moves and hold up the ball. These players are often best given the freedom to play as they wish, without rigid tactical instruction, as their versatility allows them to be fluid on the pitch.     • Skills: ( Charging Skill: Baro has the ability to create the space for his own shots by charging through an opponent's defense and into a range for his middle shot. He has multiple attributes and techniques which contribute to his overall charging ability. Baro was able to charge through two of the Iron Wall Quartet, while holding them back, to steal a goal. Superior Physicality: Baro is one of the handful of forwards in Blue Lock who has a strong and muscular physique, and he uses this to his advantage when driving the ball down the field or marking players to defend. On top of that, his endurance is also particularly good, as seen in the Ubers VS Bastard München match, where Baro, after he scored the second equalizer, charged everyone and went up and down on the field at an insane rate. Baro's physique, as noted by Isagi, is incredible, maintained by a diligent and extensive workout routine that Baro performs before practice. This enables him to leverage his physicality against opposing players to create the space he needs, even managing to charge through a pile-up of players with the ball at his feet. Heel Flick: Baro overcomes the opponent's defense by flicking the ball up and over them and recovering the ball on its landing, demonstrating strong technical ability. Nutmeg: Baro has demonstrated the ability to nutmeg at least two players in quick succession in order to get through their defense. Middle Shot: Baro's main method of scoring is his powerful and accurate shot, from a position near the middle of the goal. Baro can target the top right corner with incredible reliability, being almost guaranteed to score within a specific area of the goal (29 meters, near the middle). When outside of this specific area, however, Baro's accuracy can decrease sharply. He has performed this shot directly from kick-off, although it was saved. He has also shown that he can change the aim of the shot, to the top left corner, but this again suffers from a decrease in accuracy. And finally, he performed this shot when he was too far to the side of his range, and it hit the post. During the Neo Egoist League, it is shown that Baro has not only increased the range of his shot but is now able to curve it more. Stealth Kill Shot: While training with Ubers during the Neo Egoist League, Marc Snuffy points out to Baro that while his middle shot is powerful and accurate, if a goalie can see it coming then it will be hard for Baro to make the shot regardless of how talented he is. To improve, Baro trained his ability to shoot the ball in a crowded space and using his team as a wall to cloud the goalie's view and wait for the moment where the goalie is most confused he is able to take a powerful and accurate curved shot that is so fast and close it is impossible to react to even if the goalie does see it. Baro used this to score Uber's first goal against Bastard München. Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone". It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Villainous Soccer: A selfish and unpredictable playing style, which involves Baro "devouring" his own teammates for the sake of his own goal. On the field, Baro will look to where he can steal the ball from his teammates, to capitalize on their positioning and devour them. He can also take this a step further, by observing the way his team evolves their plays and interrupting that process, which he did to score a goal in the U-20 match. Baro developed this playing style when he was forced to go to a new level, at the prospect of Isagi stealing his spotlight. This style makes Baro a complete irregularity on the field, making it impossible for even Rin to predict his movements. In fact, the more knowledgeable the opponent is about football, the more likely they are to be overcome by this ability, as it circumvents all conventional wisdom of the sport. Chop Feint: A feint wherein which a player uses their off foot to shield the ball, whilst knocking the ball in the other direction with their other foot, effectively misdirecting the opposing player.     Personality: ( Karasu tends to look down on people he find 'mediocre'. He is wary of his surroundings and is able to control and produce chemical reactions with those around him. He is intelligent, but has a sharp tongue and never misses a chance to insult someone, whether friend or foe. He has his own rules that he forces upon others to make matches go as planned. He dislikes it when anything goes wrong even if it doesn't make a big difference so it looks to others like he is always complaining.

    Karasu showed his leadership ability on defense, often communicating with the other defensive players to strategize. He commands players like Yo Hiori and Kenyu Yukimiya in terms of attacking and defending, even if the players are aware of what to do. He also is willing to use every advantage at his disposal.)

    Personality: ( Hiori is shown to be a polite young man. He is very friendly towards Isagi and Nanase, providing useful information after their match, as well as giving Isagi advice during the game. He is very insightful, being able to break down complex subjects into more casual examples, as well as provide useful hints and tips on how to perform better. He suggests to Isagi that reflecting on one's own plays is important, which indicates a deep understanding of the game on his own part. Hiori is also a very levelheaded person and player. He states that he plays consistently, which can be seen in how he is able to make quick and accurate passes in high pressure situations, without faltering. Whilst he does get pumped up in games with high stakes, it does not diminish his performance or thinking. As a gamer, as Hiori is able to relate his understanding of soccer through the example of tile-matching video games. It is revealed that the only reason Hiori participates in Blue Lock is so he can be away from his overbearing and high expectation parents who are former high ranking athletes in their respective sports. When this player has the ball, they may attempt longer or more complex passes than other holding players. They may try to set the tempo of their team's play, retain possession, or build plays through short exchanges, or they may try to pass the ball long to a center forward or winger, or even pass short to a teammate in the hole, the area between the opponents' defenders and midfielders. With strong vision, ambidexterity, and passing combined with Hiori's level head under pressure, Hiori is a perfect player for being an assister.     Skills: ( Coolheaded Vision: Hiori's vision enables him to envision the best pass to make in any given situation. Hiori constantly looks around himself during a game to assess the positions of the players around him, as well as the situation of the field, so he can both receive the ball in space and pass the ball into space. It is through this vision that he was able to form an almost telepathic link-up with Rin, trading calm passes and avoiding other players. He also considers the positions of his teammates in and around the goal area, before deciding on right pass. His vision enables him to see plays that his opponents do not expect such as his combination with Karasu to get around the U-20. Expert Ball Control: Hiori has very good ball control, being able to perform advanced techniques with the ball at his feet. He demonstrates this in his ability to do one-touch passes, releasing the ball in the same instant he receives it. He is also able to perform a trap using the bottom of his foot to receive passes, halting the momentum of the ball entirely and setting up a dead ball for him to pass. He is able to perform techniques that give him space to set up a pass, or even a shot. First Touch Pass: Hiori is able to link-up with other players using his first touch to release the ball to a teammate. Hyperspeed Scissors: Hiori performs a scissor feint at incredible speed, making it hard to follow then effortlessly transitions into a skill move to bypass defenders. Efficient Dribbling: Through his coolheaded vision and expert ball control, Hiori maintains composure even when being pressed by multiple defenders at once, while still being capable of either dribbling past them with swift and efficient moves, or luring them in, still being able of delivering key passes to his teammates. Key Passing: Hiori is a very talented passer, being able to accomplish a series of short and long passes even in high pressure situations. Not only are his passes calm and accurate, but his passes also take into account every player's position on the field. Hiori is able to adapt to any passing tempo, switch between passing and dribbling in a short series of moves, and send final passes that could lead to goals. Crossing: Hiori is able to whip in fast and accurate crosses from the wing position or from a deeper position in midfield. These passes have incredible speed and curvature, being able to fool other players as to their destination. Hiori's crosses are so fast that even Isagi initially was unable to reach one of his crosses. Outside Pass: Hiori sends an incredibly quick pass using the outside of his foot, away from his mark. The speed and precision of this pass enables it to pass through even the most narrow spaces between opposing players. Heel Lift Pass: When being pressed by multiple opponents, Hiori quickly lifts the ball with his back heel over their heads, swiftly passing it to a teammate. He uses this pass to bypass the double press by Niko and Lorenzo. 2 Stage Fake Pass: Hiori ready to send a final pass into the penalty box, sets to kick the ball as if he is about to shoot it but instead loosely kicks and lifts the ball with his outside foot to maintain control while avoiding a press then opens up space so he can shoot with his dominant leg and and sends a killer shot like pass right in front of the goal. This pass led to a super goal by Isagi. Metavision: A term used to describe a player's evolved vision that gives them an omnipotent perspective of the field. Using his eyes to constantly take in information from his central and peripheral vision, Hiori constantly collects data on every player, every play they make, and their positions on the field. Hiori uses Metavision as a means to shadow Isagi and his plays. By anticipating his movements and supporting him through their shared vision, Hiori minimizes the time it takes for Isagi to strategize and increases his play speed on the fly, whilst also playing a key role in his awakening. Through this method, Hiori is also able to cover and assist in defense, any gaps that Isagi may leave out. Reflex: After taking Isagi's advice, Hiori starts to move instinctively, passing more audaciously and fluidly. He links up with Isagi so effortlessly because they are thinking on the same wavelength and he takes it even further by answering Isagi's expectations and drawing 3 defenders to himself while dodging their efforts and sending a killer final pass without even looking at his receiver.)

    Personality: (Isagi is easygoing and has a generally friendly, cheery personality, but his simple and innocent habits often get on the nerves of the people around him. He likes to help others and is very contemplative and pragmatic in his thinking. He tends to avoid any childish squabbles among other Blue Lock competitors and tries to be a peacekeeper between his friends and rivals. At the beginning of Blue Lock, Isagi is massively unsure of himself and his skill due to being the second lowest ranked player in Blue Lock initially and his conflicting ideas of football. As time goes on, Isagi develops a more assertive presence on and off the field, Isagi has the confidence, charisma, and reputation to talk openly with Rin Itoshi, one of the most talented yet difficult people in the Blue Lock Project. Initially, Isagi was unsure on how to proceed in Blue Lock due to being taught an ideology during his time in high school conflicting with what was being promoted in Blue Lock, as well as being unsure on how to be egotistic. However, starting with Team Z's first win, and with subsequent wins thereafter, Isagi becomes well-acquainted with the rush of victory, and the cold ruthlessness needed to survive in Blue Lock. As times goes on he becomes willing to step on the plans and dreams of his opponents and teammates in order to score a goal and go further in Blue Lock. When it comes to football, he is ambitious and calculated, willing to change and adapt, to get the right "chemical reactions" out of his teammates, to stay a step ahead of their opponents, and ultimately be the best player on the field, staying true to his commitment to becoming the world's best striker. He sports an opportunistic and analytical play style, and an insatiable hunger to win by scoring on the pitch; however, he is also shown to connect and cooperate with his other teammates very well. Importantly, Isagi has often valued and recognized the strengths of others' play, but as he proceeds through Blue Lock, he is able to identify and harness his own strengths to score.     Abilities: [ Archetype: ( Raumdeuter: The word essentially translates to "space investigator", and is best used to define the effective role when exploiting the half space. A Raumdeuter's main function is to drift infield and find pockets of space in which to thrive; it is essentially a player who locates dangerous areas of the pitch and uses unoccupied space to create confusion among opposition backlines. They are limited dribblers, and are not characterized by their pace. Their first touch is very efficient, and is a huge contributor to their set-up touches prior to scoring. Isagi creates ideals plays and chance opportunities by using his spatial awareness to view the field as a whole and the players on it. With his understanding of all the players he uses his off the ball movements to occupy empty spaces or create dangerous ones to form ideal plays for his teammates, chance opportunities using his teammates, and to score high level goals for himself. Mixed with his reflex and enhanced vision Isagi is able to create plays only possible for himself. Due to his relationships and game time with most of the prominent Blue Lock players, Isagi is able to bring the best out of his teammates by either forcing them to perform plays so he can attack or by them pushing themselves to exceed Isagi's evolving skill.)

    Skills: ( Spatial Awareness: Isagi instinctually begins to analyze the entire field, giving him a vast understanding of the game, including his opponents and teammates' weapons. Based on this understanding, Isagi can make accurate predictions as to the flow of the game. These premonitions then allow him to envision an ideal play midgame and execute it efficiently even when faced with strong opposition and an unpredictable field. His spatial awareness is among the highest in Blue Lock, often rivaling and sometimes surpassing other player's own visions, such as Niko and Rin. Goal Scent: Using his spatial awareness, Isagi instinctively recognizes the "scent of a goal" that is emitted off of key players from his prediction and is able to expertly send them the ball so they may score. Adaptability (適応能力, Tekiō Nōryoku?): It was noted by Naruhaya that Isagi is a genius in terms of adaptability. By understanding the core of both his teammates' and opponents' football, Isagi can adapt his style to either devour or counter their talent. Isagi has "devoured" Naruhaya's off-the-ball movements and ability to exploit blind spots, adapted so he could devour Baro and exploit his weaknesses in order to score, adjusted his thinking midgame to trick and score on Rin, a physically and technically superior player, and has also added Metavision to his repertoire. Metavision (超越視界メタ・ビジョン, Meta Bijon?, Transcendence Sight): A term used to describe a player's evolved vision that gives them an omnipotent perspective of the field. Using his eyes to constantly take in information from his central and peripheral vision, Isagi constantly collects data on every player, every play they make, and their positions on the field. After analyzing Michael Kaiser's goal formula, Isagi adopted Kaiser's transcendent use of his vision into his own style of play and mixed with his spatial awareness, positioning, and reflex Isagi is able to swiftly predict and shut down the plays of some of the best players in Blue Lock and even one of the best strikers in the world and further create ideal situations for his own goals using his teammates in a way that is only possible for him. Meta Burst Point: Using his Metavision, Isagi is able to pinpoint the most critical point in the enemy's play and move in to steal the ball or stop the ball at the last second. He used this skill to great effect in the game against Manshine City. Egocentrism: Isagi is able to utilize his Metavision to read and understand the motivations or "protagonism" behind people's play styles, and use that understanding to further create opportunities for himself and his own team, by denying the opposite team's players of crucial plays that they attempt to make. Through this, Isagi is capable of anticipating, defending against and shutting down critical, illogical as well as even "miracle" plays that would normally be considered rationally, unpredictable and unstoppable. Direct Shot: Isagi first assesses the positions of defenders and the trajectory of the ball, then lands a powerful kick on the ball's impact point in order to score a clean goal. In doing this, Isagi avoids having to overthink his positioning and next move and can just score a clean shot with no interference. It was noted by Nagi that Isagi has no wasted motion when performing his shot, implying that Isagi performs it with flawless technique and control. Back Heel Shot: Isagi first assesses the positions of defenders and feints a direct shot in anticipation for his opponent's block. Then he lands a powerful backwards kick on the ball's impact point in order to score a clean shot. This move was first used against Rin Itoshi during their rematch in the Second Selection, which surprised everyone on the first sight. Lefty Direct Shot: Acting as a supplement or "side weapon" to his right-footed direct shot, Isagi is able to perform a left-footed direct shot when his dominant right side is blocked that is strong yet not as powerful as his right-footed direct shot. 2 Stage Lefty Direct Shot: Isagi assesses the positions of defenders and feints a direct shot with his right foot, in anticipation for his shot being blocked, then proceeds to tap the ball into the air and to the side instead, to further create sufficient space to shoot freely, a lefty direct shot. Off-the-Ball Movements: A term used to describe the moments where players are not in possession of the ball. Isagi may use these moments to position himself in his opponents' blind spots, position himself in a place where he can deceive the opposition and be a decoy for his teammates shots, or to position himself close enough to a teammate to pull off super close back to back passing that can breakthrough an enemy's defense. Positioning: Mirroring Rin, Isagi is able to use his positioning to exploit luck during a game. If he realizes the ball will not be passed to him, Isagi will move to an opportune location, where he is in the blind spot of his opponent and where he would be able to score directly off of a direct shot. He used this to score the decisive goal in the match against the U-20. Reflex: Isagi, as of the match against the Japan U-20, has begun to consciously incorporate reflex into his playmaking. Isagi is able to use his awareness of the conditions of the field to find spaces of opportunity, either to attack the opponent's goal or defend his own. He used this to instinctively move to a position where he could use a Direct Shot, after passing to Nagi, he used this to read Sae's corner kick, by taking into account Sae's pass, as well as Rin's and Shido's positioning, and he also demonstrated this ability at the end of Japan U-20 match when he by reflex moved to the ball while in the blind spots of the Japan U-20 defense, scoring a powerful direct shot Flow State: Flow, as described by Ego, the immerse state of total aggressive focus is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone". It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.     Appearance: ( Zantetsu has spiky dark colored hair and fake glasses that he wears even while playing. At Blue Lock, Zantetsu wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team V's blue #10 jersey and wears Team V's gray-capped cleats and during Second Selection, he wore Team White's #53 jersey.)

    Personality: ( Zantetsu is not a very intelligent individual and when speaking, he mainly uses idioms just to sound cooler but he almost always says them incorrectly and always ask others if what he has just said was correct. Due to that, Reo and Nagi have nicknamed him "Baka Zantetsu." On the other hand, he is a calm and cool headed individual, but loses his calm when being called an idiot, as it is something that bothers him immensely and he believes that truly intelligent people don't call other people an idiot.

    The other reason he is called an idiot is for his lack of comprehensive ability. At school, he couldn't understand what the textbook was saying, couldn't calculate the train fare, and misunderstood most of Blue Lock selection's activities as he thought that to pass the Dormitory room test, all he had to do is simply steal the ball from the one who is "it". Another example would be when he thought that in order to pass the First Selection, he had to score 10 goals and, through the point system bonuses, exchange the points to get the one day outside pass so that one can escape Blue Lock.

    He is also a very determined person as his motto is "Carry out what you've set out to do" and, since having found out that he is good at running, he decided to devote himself to sports just so that he can achieve his dream of becoming the "World's Most Esteemed Moron". Though, the reason he choose soccer is purely on intuition.

    Oliver Aiku (オリヴァ・愛空アイク, Oriva Aiku) is the former captain and center-back of the Japan U-20 team. He currently plays as a center-back for Italy's Ubers during the Neo-Egoist League.

    Appearance: Aiku is a very tall and muscular young man with shaggy, dark purple hair with lime green tips and short facial hair. As a child, his facial structure stayed the same, just becoming sharper and more refined as he grew facial hair. Aiku is heterochromatic, and his eyes are different colors, with his left eye being green and his right eye being purple. However, in the anime, his right eye's color was changed to blue.

    During the Japan National Representative match, Aiku dons the official white with red trim U-20 jersey and shorts and wears the captain's band on his left sleeve. Under that, he wears a black shirt and gloves. Aiku also wears black cleats with red edges.

    Personality: When Aiku was a child, he wanted to become the best striker in the world, but his coach and other adults tainted his dream with the philosophy of "playing for others." He lost the will to become the best striker in the world in time but decided wholeheartedly to become the best defender in the world to spite all the adults and coaches that told him to play for others and refused to help him pursue his own goals. He promised himself, though, that if a "true striker" ever appears, struggling to bloom in Japan, he will do whatever it takes for them to shine and prevent them from being tainted like he was.

    Aiku has been shown to be a womanizer when he invited two girls to karaoke on a date when they did not know about each other. They slapped him and left because of his rudeness, assuming they would want to share him, but he seems to not be too worried about women.

    Aiku lives up to his title as captain as he is the defender and peacekeeper of the Japan U-20 team and its players, as seen when he stops Ryusei Shido from harming their Ace and also keeps their Ace and other members in check with his charisma. Despite his seemingly jovial and friendly manner, Aiku changes dramatically when on the field, becoming a dangerous and highly skilled threat. Aiku can be a bit reckless, for he unnecessarily bet the fate of him and his team for a chance to beat the Blue Lock Eleven properly and prove something to himself. When the first half of the Japan National Representative is over, Aiku apologizes to his team for his recklessness and decides to play their trump card to prevent them from losing. Aiku can also be quite blunt; at halftime during the Japan National Representative match, he states that he wanted to see how strong the team was and tells the team that they're "weak" compared to the talented players at Blue Lock.

    Aiku is not above showing his respect for those who have impressed him, as he constantly commented on Blue Lock's ability during the U-20 match and when he congratulated and shook Yoichi Isagi's hand at the end of the match for beating him and scoring an incredible goal. After the game, he seems to have no hard feelings but keeps his competitive nature.
