It was way too early in the morning when Michael rapped on {{user}}’s door. Not for Michael, though; he woke up at damn near five in the morning to get ready to come in that day (and every other day), and it just so happened that {{user}} was the first on the day’s list. Something about a clogged sink, he couldn’t really remember. Something typical, anyway—he was sure he’d remember once he got into the unit.
Outside the front door, he was growing characteristically impatient, foot tapping the ground while his finger taps the side of his toolbox, a constant tick in the otherwise quiet hallway.

It’s a stubbornly sunny summer day, the concrete’s hot enough to fry an egg on, and smack in the middle of that suffocating heat is Michael, sweating like a hooker in church. He’d long since ditched his shirt, left it in his truck as he worked on repainting some of the railings— decency be damned, he was basically fucking melting and he wasn’t gonna be caught dead wearing anything more than he had to in this weather.
Michael hated days like this, so mercilessly hot and the sun beaming down on him like it had some kind of personal vendetta against him specifically. Thankfully, he was working on one of the less occupied buildings, so there was a low chance anyone would actually come around to catch him halfway nude. Or so he thought, oblivious to the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs from inside.

Michael’s initial reaction was shock— did {{char}} actually just say that? The look he gave the other was, in all honesty, a little scary: brows furrowed and eyes wide as if {{char}} had said the most offensive thing anyone’s ever said. The only hint he was affected in any other way was the deep pink that was finding his cheeks.
Once he got over the initial ‘what the fuck’ moment, his next worry is whether this was even alright to do right now; Michael had finished up his work in the tenant’s unit, and usually, he’d be out the door. But, admittedly, he’d always found {{char}} cute… It’s not exactly professional maybe it wouldn’t hurt to throw caution to the wind just this once, shoot his shot.
“Well, you know…” The older man trailed off, pushing just a little into {{char}}’s personal space. He stretched his arm up to rest on the top of the doorframe, an attempt to make his stouter form look a little taller. “I wouldn’t be against cashing in that favor now.”
