In a world where 80% of people are born with superpowers—called Quirks—heroes are everywhere. They fight crime, rescue citizens, and shine in the spotlight. To become one of them is the dream of many, and Izuku Midoriya, a kind-hearted boy with messy green hair and sparkling eyes, was no different.
But Izuku had a problem.
He was Quirkless.
No power. No chance. Just a dream so big, it almost hurt to believe in it.
While other kids discovered their powers, Izuku watched hero videos, took notes, and imagined a future where he could help people with a smile… just like his idol, the Symbol of Peace—All Might. One fateful day, a terrifying sludge villain attacked Katsumi, Izuku's childhood best friend and Bakugo, Izuku’s explosive childhood rival, who constantly mocked him for being Quirkless. Heroes stood frozen, unsure of how to help.
But Izuku didn’t hesitate.
Even without a Quirk, he rushed in to save Bakugo, heart pounding, legs trembling.
And then…
All Might arrived, blasting the villain away. But what shocked Izuku even more was what came after: All Might told him that being a hero wasn’t about power—it was about having a heart that saves others.
And that’s when All Might made a decision:
“You can be a hero.” All Might had a secret. His power, One For All, could be passed on like a torch.
And now… it was Izuku’s turn to carry the flame. But he had to keep it a secret, even from her best friend Katsumi.
But first, he had to train. For 10 months, he cleaned up a beach full of junk—lifting, pushing, running—all to prepare his body for the power.
Then came the moment.
He swallowed a strand of All Might’s hair.
“Gross!” “It’s part of the deal,” All Might laughed.
And just like that, Izuku Midoriya became the next holder of One For All. The most prestigious hero school in Japan: U.A. High School.
To get in, students had to pass a tough entrance exam, where they fought against battle robots. Izuku barely managed to use One For All—breaking his bones in the process—but saved a girl named Ochaco Uraraka from danger.
He scored high in "Rescue Points" and was accepted into Class 1-A, alongside powerful and quirky new classmates:
Katsuki Bakugo – hot-tempered and explosive
Tenya Iida – serious and speedster
Shoto Todoroki – quiet and cool (literally)
Momo Yaoyorozu, Denki Kaminari, Eijiro Kirishima, and more
Their homeroom teacher was the strict and tired-looking Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head), who could cancel Quirks with a glare.
The first test? Show your Quirks—or be expelled!
Izuku struggled but proved his worth with brains and heart. In their first real combat class with All Might, students were paired for a Hero vs. Villain exercise.
Izuku and Uraraka were the "heroes", facing off against Bakugo and Iida.
Bakugo attacked Midoriya with everything he had, furious that his “useless” childhood friend was catching up.
Izuku used strategy, courage, and just enough of One For All to win the battle—though he broke his arm again doing it.
Bakugo stormed off, angry… not just at Midoriya, but at himself. As training continued, U.A. sent Class 1-A to the USJ (Unforeseen Simulation Joint) to learn rescue techniques.
After a training session, Class 1-A is told they need to elect a class president and vice president. Everyone nominates themselves at first, but the students quickly realize it should be based on trust and leadership.
Voting: The class votes anonymously. Despite not nominating himself, Izuku Midoriya surprisingly wins by a small margin (due to his classmates respecting him after the Battle Trial). Yaoyorozu Momo becomes vice president.
Leadership Trial: During lunch, the cafeteria is thrown into chaos when the school’s security alarm goes off (caused by the media breaking into UA). Everyone panics, but Iida Tenya calms the class down by acting as a leader, reminding them to move in an orderly fashion.
Leadership Change: Midoriya realizes Iida is a natural leader and not comfortable being class president himself. He steps down, recommending Iida. The class agrees, making Iida the class president and keeping Momo as vice president.
✅ Outcome: Iida becomes Class 1-A President with Momo as Vice President. This shows Iida’s natural leadership skills and Momo’s reliability, while Midoriya learns about self-awareness and humility.
But this peaceful lesson was shattered when villains attacked.
Led by the hand-covered madman Tomura Shigaraki, and backed by a monstrous creature named Nomu, the League of Villains broke in, seeking to kill All Might.
Class 1-A was separated into groups, forced to fight and survive on their own. Some panicked, but others rose to the challenge.
Aizawa bravely fought dozens of villains to protect his students but was injured. All Might arrived—his presence shaking the air.
He fought Nomu, a creature built to kill him, in a battle that shook the entire facility.
“So long as I stand, you can’t break this world!!” All Might shouted.
He pushed his limits, using the last of his strength to defeat Nomu in a blinding storm of punches. The students watched in awe—and fear.
Even the Symbol of Peace wasn’t invincible. The villains retreated. The students were safe.
After the USJ Incident, U.A. wants to show confidence in its students by holding the annual Sports Festival — one of the most-watched events in Japan.
Pro Heroes and agencies recruit interns based on performances here, so it’s a huge career opportunity for students. But the message was clear:
The world was changing.
Villains were gathering. Danger was rising.
But Izuku? He had taken his first step into the world of heroes.
His story had only just begun. 🧡 “I want to be the greatest hero, just like you…” – Izuku Midoriya 💬 “You already are.” – All Might

⚡ In short: Season 2’s Sports Festival Arc = Obstacle Race → Cavalry Battle → Tournament (Hero Battles), with tons of character growth and setup for later arcs.
After the U.A. Sports Festival, the students of Class 1-A were thrust into their Hero Agency Internships, which led to a major conflict with the Hero Killer: Stain. The arc developed several key character moments and set the stage for later, darker events in the series. Internships and the introduction of the Hero Killer Pro Hero draft: Following the sports festival, Pro Heroes from around Japan scouted students who impressed them. These students then received offers to participate in an internship with an agency of their choosing. Midoriya with Gran Torino: Izuku Midoriya was mentored by Gran Torino, All Might's former teacher. Gran Torino pushed Midoriya to stop focusing One For All's power in a single point and instead distribute it throughout his body. This resulted in Midoriya developing the "Full Cowling" technique, which gave him much greater control over his power.
To Katsumi's utterer confusion, she got request from endeavor's agency too, along with Todoroki obviously. And she accepts it in the end. Iida's quest for revenge: Upon learning that his older brother, the hero Ingenium, was critically injured by the villain Stain, Tenya Iida sought revenge. He chose to intern with a hero in Hosu City, the last known location of the Hero Killer. Bakugo with Best Jeanist: Katsuki Bakugo received an offer from Best Jeanist, the No. 4 Pro Hero. Jeanist attempted to temper Bakugo's volatile attitude, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Stain's attack in Hosu: While in Hosu, Iida finds and confronts Stain, who criticizes Iida's selfish motive for revenge. Midoriya, Katsumi and Shoto Todoroki arrive to help Iida, leading to a four-on-one battle. The students defeat Stain, but are warned against revealing the full details of the fight to the public, as they performed hero work without a license. Stain acknowledged Midoriya and Katsumi. He even gave his Katana to Katsumi as acknowledgement in the end. Aftermath and the League of Villains Stain's ideology gains traction: Despite his arrest, Stain's ideology—that most Pro Heroes are corrupt and society is fake—went viral after a video of his public rampage leaked. His actions inspired more villains to join the League of Villains, including Dabi and Himiko Toga. Encounter with Shigaraki: During a trip to the mall, Midoriya and Katsumi is ambushed by Tomura Shigaraki. After a tense conversation, Shigaraki develops a concrete motivation: to destroy the hero society All Might represents. Final exams: To prepare for summer training camp, students must pass a final exam with both written and practical components. For the practical exam, students are paired up and forced to fight against one of their U.A. teachers. Key matches included: Midoriya, Katsumi and Bakugo and vs. All Might: The two rivals and a childhood are forced to work together to defeat All Might. Their teamwork, though difficult, allows them to pass the exam. Todoroki and Yaoyorozu vs. Aizawa: Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu must overcome their teacher, Eraser Head. Momo's strategic thinking is critical in helping them pass.
The U.A. High School training camp began with a brutal surprise from the Wild, Wild Pussycats, the Pro Hero team supervising the students, and culminated in an ambush by the League of Villains' Vanguard Action Squad. The villains kidnapped Katsuki Bakugo and Katsumi Hanako and dealt a devastating blow to the heroes' reputation. The surprise start of the training camp A "rest stop" trap: Classes 1-A and 1-B traveled by bus to a forest area for their summer training. The students believed they were taking a rest stop when they encountered the Wild, Wild Pussycats, a cat-themed team of mountain rescue heroes. The Beast's Forest: The Pussycats announced that the camp had already begun, and the students were promptly knocked down a cliff and into a forest called "The Beast's Forest". Earth beasts: To reach the lodge at the other side of the forest, the students had to battle through massive monsters created from the earth by the Pussycats' Pixie-Bob. Though it was a fierce struggle that took them hours to complete, the students eventually succeeded. Meeting Kota: At the lodge, Izuku Midoriya met Kota Izumi, a young boy with a cynical view of heroes. He revealed that his parents, the Water Hose heroes, had been killed by a villain, causing him to resent the hero society. Intensive Quirk training Physical reinforcement: The next day, the students began intensive Quirk training designed to push their abilities beyond their limits. This involved repeating exhausting exercises to strengthen their Quirks, just as one would build muscle. Training for each Quirk: Students were assigned specific training methods based on their abilities. For instance, Katsuki Bakugo repeatedly used his explosions in boiling water to increase his Quirk's temperature resistance, while Izuku Midoriya trained his Full Cowl with the Pussycats' Tiger. Remedial lessons: Students who failed the first-term finals, such as Mina Ashido and Denki Kaminari, were forced to take extra lessons at night. The Vanguard Action Squad invasion The villains' surprise attack: On the third night, during a "test of courage" game, the League of Villains launched a coordinated surprise attack on the training camp. Their Vanguard Action Squad included new recruits like Dabi and Himiko Toga. Chaos and capture: The villains used Dabi's fire and a toxic gas Quirk from a villain named Mustard to cause chaos in the forest. Their primary objective was to capture Katsumi and Bakugo, whom the League wanted to recruit. Major battles: The attack led to several high-stakes confrontations between the students and villains: Izuku vs. Muscular: Izuku found Kota alone and fought the villain Muscular, who had killed Kota's parents. Izuku was forced to unleash a desperate 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash to defeat him. Shoto and Katsuki vs. Moonfish: The two rivals teamed up to fight the villain Moonfish, who used his razor-sharp teeth to attack.
Dabi was to capture Katsumi and lured her around their final meeting point so that they can take her and Bakugo from their. Dabi admired the hero killer and he knew the hero killer trusted her enough to give his very own sword to a mere hero in training girl. He was kinda surprised and intrigued. That's why he put so much effort than needed to capture her. Dark Shadow unleashed: The darkness in the forest caused Fumikage Tokoyami to lose control of his Quirk, Dark Shadow, which went on a rampage before being calmed by Shoto and Bakugo's light-producing abilities. The villain's victory Katsumi and Bakugo's capture: Despite the students' efforts, the villain Mr. Compress succeeded in capturing Bakugo and Fumikage, shrinking them into marbles, while somewhere Katsumi was still fighting with Dabi. Villains escape: Although Izuku and his classmates recovered Fumikage's marble, Bakugo's was taken away by the Vanguard Action Squad as they were warped to safety by Kurogiri. Dabi took Katsumi's unconscious body with him as well through the warped gate. The training camp ended in a decisive victory for the villains.

The classroom buzzed with laughter and energy as the students of Aldera Junior High leaned back in their seats. The teacher stood at the front of the room, holding a stack of papers.
"Alright, everyone," he began, flipping through the papers casually. "It's time to start thinking seriously about your future careers." The students groaned half-heartedly. "But..." the teacher grinned, tossing the papers dramatically into the air, "...I know you’re all aiming to be heroes!" The class erupted in excitement. Hands shot into the air as students activated their Quirks proudly. One student elongated his fingers like noodles; another sparked electricity between her hands. Laughter filled the room, accompanied by bursts of small flames and puffs of smoke. They were children, yes—but children blessed with power. In the middle of the storm sat a quiet boy with dark green, fluffy hair—Izuku Midoriya. He chuckled nervously, eyes wide behind his round glasses, but didn’t lift his hand or activate a power. Because... he didn’t have one. Still, he smiled. The teacher paused as he scanned the list. “Oh, looks like even Midoriya and Hanako are applying to U.A. High” The laughter stopped. Silence fell like a stone. Then came the snickers. “Wait—Midoriya?” “Seriously?” "Well, I mean we can get it about Hanako because she has a quirk. But Midoriya? Seriously? Does he wanna die?" “Is he trying to get himself killed?” Izuku’s eyes widened, face turning red. He shrank into his seat, clutching his notes close. All his careful research on heroes... now felt worthless in their eyes. A sudden bang echoed across the room. Katsuki Bakugo, the class star, had slammed his hands on the desk. “Hey, teach,” he said with a sneer. “Don’t lump me in with that Quirkless loser.” He stood tall, arms crossed, smirking as explosions sparked lightly from his palms. The students around him nodded, impressed. “I aced all the mock tests. Got a flashy Quirk. I’m the real deal,” Bakugo said. “Only someone like me belongs at U.A. High.” More laughter followed. This time, it was louder, sharper—meant to sting. Izuku said nothing.
