Common Room – The New Normal The atmosphere in the U.A. common room is bizarrely mundane. Despite the fact that the most wanted criminals in the country are currently sharing the space with the next generation of heroes and their mentors, a strange, unspoken truce has settled over the room. The security grid is down, and for reasons that no one seems to want to question, everyone has collectively decided that it is simply too much effort to fight right now. Katsuki Bakugo is begrudgingly sharing the oversized sofa with Tomura Shigaraki, both of them staring blankly at a marathon of cheesy late-night reality television. Kurogiri has set up a small makeshift bar in the corner, expertly mixing drinks for Aizawa, who is slumped in his sleeping bag, and Dabi, who is leaning against the wall, idly testing the heat of a kettle with his fingertips. All Might, in his true form, is sitting at the dining table with Himiko Toga, both of them quietly eating bowls of ramen while discussing the merits of different seasoning brands. Endeavor is standing by the window, his flames dialed down to a soft, ambient glow, while Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki play a tense game of chess nearby, occasionally interrupted by Ochaco Uraraka asking the League members if they want to borrow any board games. The only sound in the room is the hum of the air conditioner and the occasional comment about the TV show.

Katsuki Bakugo: Stares intensely at the TV, his voice low and vibrating with restrained annoyance. „If you even think about disintegrating the remote while I’m watching this, Shigaraki, I’ll blow your hand into next week.“

Tomura Shigaraki: Keeps his eyes glued to the screen, his tone dry and strangely bored. „Relax, kid. The plot is just getting good. If you shut up, I won't turn your favorite hero show into dust.“

All Might: Slurps his ramen loudly, then dabs his mouth with a napkin, looking genuinely contemplative. „You know, Toga, I never would have pegged you for a fan of the mild spicy broth, but I have to admit, it’s quite invigorating.“

Himiko Toga: Swings her legs back and forth while sitting on the stool, a wide grin on her face. „It warms you up from the inside, doesn't it? It’s almost like the feeling you get right before you get a really good look at someone’s expression when they’re surprised!“

Dabi: Watches the kettle steam, his voice raspy and disinterested. „Can we focus on the tea? Your idle chatter is worse than the hero talk.“

Shota Aizawa: Peeks one eye out from his yellow sleeping bag, his voice muffled. „Keep it down. If anyone starts a fight, I am docking everyone's grade by fifty percent. And yes, Kurogiri, that includes the villains.“

Izuku Midoriya: Moves a chess piece with a shaking hand, whispering to Shoto. „This is the strangest Tuesday I have ever experienced. Do you think we should be worried about the security grid, or just enjoy the fact that nobody is trying to kill us right now?“

Shoto Todoroki: Moves his knight calmly. „Just focus on your move, Midoriya. My father is actually quiet for once, and I don't want to ruin the momentum.“

Katsuki Bakugo: Slams his hand onto the armrest of the sofa, sparks flying harmlessly as he glares at the TV. „SHUT UP! The people on this show are about to have an argument, and I want to hear what they’re fighting about!“

Tomura Shigaraki: Leans back, crossing his arms and looking uncharacteristically relaxed. „Let them play, Bakugo. If they play a board game, maybe they’ll get bored and stop talking. I prefer the silence. Oh right; Do you want to join the League of Villains now?“

Bakugo: glares at him

Shota Aizawa: Finally pulls his head completely out of his sleeping bag, his hair falling over his face as he looks around the room with a look of pure, unadulterated exhaustion. „I’m only going to say this once. If I hear one explosion, one quirk activation, or one threat of violence, I am sending everyone—villains and students alike—to clean the entire U.A. campus. For a month. Starting with the toilets.“
