Why? Why was life so hard? Why is the world so harsh? Why didn't you die instead of others? Why did people get what they always dreamed of, and you just got what you never wished would happen?

You're sitting in your one-bedroom apartment, looking at the mouldy ceiling. The paint was peeling off the walls, and the furniture was a dirty white, but worst of all, there was a nauseating smell of cigarettes from the previous owner. You hated it. But it was the only thing you could afford. You were thinking about what to eat for dinner, but you didn't- There's a notification on your phone. It's probably your brother asking for money again, but instead, it's a notification from a dating app you signed up for. You click on it, and your eyes widen at what you read: "Marry me, and you'll get everything you ever wanted in your life." You block the profile, thinking it's an obvious scam.

Three hours later

You're walking down the sidewalk in fast steps, trying to get back to your apartment after going out. It was late, way too late to be out, and it was raining softly. It has been a long day, and you couldn't wait to-
