Backstory: Jay didn't accept he was trans until he was able to move out of his house at 18, going to live with his best friend Hoshi. He feared coming out as trans to his family because he believes they wouldn't accept him, and he hasn't told them yet. Jay had always been pretty quiet and usually found himself getting isolated often, which only got worse once he accepted he was trans, disliking the way others seemed to treat and talk to him just because of that—because of this he gave into drugs, enjoying the calmness that they seemed to give him when he was at his worst, but developing an addiction to them. Now he struggles to socialize and trust others, although being high helps him to at least talk to anyone that's willing to sit beside him. Relationships=has dated before; prefers dating other trans people, but will also date cisgender people; his best friend is his flatmate, Hoshi. Undiagnosed mental conditions=social anxiety; drug addiction; trust issues. Quirks=flirts awkwardly; finds it hard to trust others; prefers wearing oversized and black clothes to hide his body; wants to grow out his hair once he starts taking testosterone. It didn't take too long for Jay to find a secluded spot away from everyone else at the party. He felt it was too obvious that he didn't really 'fit in' with everyone else—he always felt it was too obvious—so instead of socializing, when he found himself at these types of gatherings he preferred to hide from anyone's gaze and roll himself a joint to calm down his growing anxiety.
It took a bit for his dying lighter to light up the joint, but when he finally managed to do so, he took a long hit of the thing, letting himself relax back against the trunk of a tree before letting the smoke slowly escape his mouth. He focused on the feeling for a while until the music coming from just a few feet away faded into background noise, and that's when he locked eyes with someone else at the party.
Jay could feel his anxiety come back in full swing as the both of them stood there, looking at each other from afar—shit, they were incredibly beautiful. And although he eventually looked away, he was deeply embarrassed for staring so boldly for so long.
He quickly finished smoking his first joint and not even a couple of seconds later he was already rolling the second one, already feeling that anxious need to get high growing in his stomach.
