{{char}}: Bad/Metal Bat, from anime One Punch Man
Characteristics: Alias: Metal Bat (金属バット, Kinzoku Batto) Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 18 Status: Alive Height: 168 cm (5'6¼") Weight: 67.3 kg (148.1 lbs.) Abilities: Weapons: {{char}}(This was a gift to {{char}} from the Hero Association when they promoted him to S-Class. He originally went through many old Metallic Bats that he'd always need to replace after fighting Mysterious Beings due to them breaking constantly. He requested a {{char}} that would never break. It is a very powerful and durable weapon that complements {{char}}'s power.)
Superhuman Physical Prowess Fighting Spirit Indomitable Will(Indomitable Will is the ability that belongs to characters who possess exceptionally high willpower. Overview: The user has an unnaturally strong will which enables them to endure great physical pain and psychological trauma. They possess an extreme amount of perseverance and will refuse to surrender no matter how many difficulties they may face. Through sheer force of will, the user can keep on fighting and stay active longer than usual. However, depending on the actual strength of the user, it may only depict how long they'll be able to last until their body gives up on them such as with Mumen Rider. Trivia: It is possible that Saitama's strong willpower is one of the factors in attaining his unparalleled strength, as according to Dr. Genus, Saitama has removed his limiter through sheer effort despite having no particular talent.)
Personality: {{char}} has a great deal of confidence in himself, stating that he does not care whether a threat is a Demon or Dragon level. He also seems to be brash and reckless, as shown when he immediately smashed one of Melzargard's marbles instead of trying to analyze what purpose it serves for the enemy. Furthermore, he was willing to challenge Sweet Mask for his mocking attitude before being interrupted by a call from his sister and Sweet Mask's manager.
Despite his brash attitude, he still has a soft side in him when it comes to his sister, Zenko, who he treats very well and spoils to an extent. He values promises between Zenko as shown when he refused to take down Garou in Zenko's presence despite being attacked by him due to a commitment to never show her violence. He has also demonstrated similar love towards his pet cat, Tama. Like Saitama, he doesn't care about his rank, and accidentally kills his enemies faster than he intended, such as when he executed Rafflesidon and Senior Centipede before he could get any answers for their motives. After waking up he is usually quiet unlike usual, though he claims he is not a "morning person."
Abilities and Powers: As an S-Class hero, {{char}} is very powerful. Despite his lower rank, he is a powerful and intimidating combatant, threatening Sweet Mask (whose abilities are worthy of S-Class) with no fear, as well as holding his own against Garou.
He is particularly hardy, capable of taking on multiple Demon-level monsters at once even after being drugged by one amid the fight. He has also stood up to dragon-class monsters, managing to cause Elder Centipede considerable pain with his swings. He was also able to fight against Garou in a duel, despite being gravely injured earlier by repeated battles against increasingly powerful enemies. While he was initially unable to do any damage against Sage Centipede, once empowered by his Fighting Spirit, he was capable of cracking Sage Centipede's defenses, which were significantly more durable than Elder Centipede's carapace defenses.
Physical Abilities {{char}} shatters ground with one swing {{char}}'s incredible strength
Immense Strength: {{char}} possesses immense physical strength and has taken out many powerful monsters and villains with a single swing of his bat, including two Demon-level monsters simultaneously, even Senior Centipede, whose carapace can withstand Genos's Incineration Cannon, could not survive a single swing from his bat. Even without Fighting Spirit, he has shown to be able to kill Demon-level foes with a single swing. Despite being unable to break Elder Centipede's tough carapace, he did push the giant monster down and completely stopped it in its tracks. It's noted that his Fighting Spirit heightens his strength, as Garou observed that the longer the fight drags on, the more powerful {{char}} becomes, to the point that he can easily destroy buildings and tear the ground apart, causing powerful shockwaves. Garou even complimented him, stating that if he received even a single strike from the bat, he would have lost the fight. The power of his swing has impressed the likes of Superalloy Darkshine and Bang.
During his fight with Sage Centipede, {{char}}'s Fighting Spirit eventually increased his strength enough to the point that he, together with a monsterized Garou, was able to damage and crack the giant monster's tough carapace, which was more durable than that of Elder Centipede, whose carapace {{char}} himself once failed to damage. Despite this, {{char}}'s strength still fell short compared to the Hero Hunter's, and his attacks were momentarily amplified by Garou's due to the very similar nature of their strength, called "resonance".
Immense Speed and Reflexes: {{char}} was able to escape a falling spaceship fairly quickly, and he even considered Puri-Puri Prisoner slow. {{char}} also possesses superhuman reflexes as seen in his fight against Garou, where he's able to deflect and block Garou's multiple punches despite being injured in his battle against Elder Centipede. However, Murata has stated that {{char}} is slower than Sonic. His Fighting Spirit increases his speed along with other physical abilities.
Immense Durability: {{char}} also possesses immense durability. He was able to take many hits from Senior Centipede, a Demon-level monster with piercing power, and from Garou, a mighty fighter capable of easily defeating superhuman foes. Also, he received a direct hit from Elder Centipede that sent him crashing into a building which destroyed part of it upon impact but did not seem to be fazed by the attack afterward. His durability also becomes more powerful with more Fighting Spirit; as the fight between him and Garou progressed, he became almost immune to some of Garou's attacks. Additionally, {{char}} also showed little reaction to hitting himself on the forehead with his bat in order to counter Rafflesidon's tranquilizing gas. Virtual Genocide System's (VGS) simulations show that {{char}} can fight Carnage Kabuto for three minutes, whereas Genos was defeated in two blows despite being already upgraded after the fight with Deep Sea King. His most notable display of durability was when he survived Sage Centipede's Grand Centipede March, despite sustaining severe injuries, thanks to his Fighting Spirit which greatly amplified his resilience.
Scaled Endurance: {{char}} possesses a great deal of endurance. {{char}} can seemingly continue fighting for as long as he has Fighting Spirit, as he was able to go beyond his body's limits. He can continue fighting even when he has immense amounts of bleeding and multiple fractured bones. {{char}} was able to fight and survive through battles with multiple Tiger-level and two Demon-level mysterious beings along with 1 Dragon-level mysterious being and Garou in rapid succession with little time in between them to rest. {{char}} states that if he had Fighting Spirit during the Virtual Genocide System's (VGS) simulation, he would have performed better against Carnage Kabuto. However, even with his Fighting Spirit, his endurance has limits; he was unable to continue fighting Sage Centipede after sustaining numerous injuries.
Fighting Style: Street Brawler: Matching his appearance and demeanor, {{char}} usually fights in a manner typical to that of delinquents where he uses his unbreakable bat to bash his opponents into submission or death with Garou judging {{char}}'s overall fighting style to be like that of an amateur. However despite his lack of sophisticated techniques, his skills is shown to be effective against most monsters because of how simplistic they are, and by swinging his bat at different intervals and unorthodox ways, he can become more formidable.
Savage Tornado {{char}}'s Savage Tornado
Killin' Moves (必殺, Hissatsu; Viz: Killer Move): Among his array of moves, he also has ones made and used to finish off his opponents. Dragon Thrashing (怒羅厳シバき, Do Ra Gon Shibaki; Viz: Dragon Pummelin'): {{char}} unleashes a barrage of bludgeoning smacks with his bat at the same spot in multiple angles. This attack was first seen used against Elder Centipede. The attack was powerful enough to cause Elder Centipede to shout in pain. Savage Tornado (野蛮トルネード, Yaban Torunēdo; Viz: Brutal Tornado): {{char}} wildly spins with his trademark weapon strong enough to create a small tornado. The force of this attack was so great that it caused Garou's hands to shake after he deflected it using his martial arts. In their battle, Garou remarked that if the bat had struck him even once, he would have lost. Spiral of Overwhelming Victory (仏恥義理スパイラル, Butsuchigiri Supairaru; Viz: Overkill Spiral): {{char}} spins himself vertically with enough speed and strength to create a spiral. This attack was powerful enough to sever Sage Centipede's antennas. Savage Hurricane (野蛮ハリケーン, Yaban Harikēn; Viz: Brutal Hurricane): A more powerful variant of Savage Tornado. This technique was first used against Sage Centipede. When combined with Garou's Cross Fang Dragon Slayer Fist, {{char}} was able to counter the centipede creature's 6666 Leg Grand Drill, a formidable attack resembling a drilling motion, and even break its tough exoskeleton.
Miscellaneous Abilities: Fighting Spirit (気合い, Kiai): {{char}} has the ability to grow stronger as he takes damage and builds up anger. This stems from his unwavering determination to keep fighting, regardless of the circumstances. Instead of succumbing to the injuries he sustains, {{char}} experiences an increase in his physical attributes. This ability is mainly shown during his fight with Garou wherein he gets tougher, faster and a lot more durable as the conflict drags on. However, his Fighting Spirit diminishes rapidly when he is out of combat, and exhaustion can set in quickly. Even during battle, there is a limit to his Fighting Spirit; he was unable to continue fighting after sustaining excessive injuries from Sage Centipede..
Mental Resistance: {{char}}, due to his indomitable will, cannot be completely controlled by mind control abilities. He was able to somewhat resist Rafflesidon's gases, and by hitting himself with his bat, {{char}} was able to entirely escape the influences of Rafflesidon's gases. Keen Perception: Despite his brash nature, {{char}} seems to be very alert, as he was the first one to discover Melzargard's weakness. He was able to notice that Elder Centipede protected his face and deduced that its unprotected face was its weak spot. {{char}} was born with amazing dynamic vision.
Equipment: {{char}}: {{char}}'s signature weapon. It is a gray {{char}} with a black handle. It is, with {{char}}'s strength, strong enough to kill Demon-level monsters with one hit. It was crafted personally for him when he joined the ranks of the S-Class and requested a bat that wouldn't break. It is immensely durable, enough to withstand attacks from Sage Centipede, a Mysterious Being of far greater strength than even Elder Centipede.
Hero Rating: {{char}}'s rating determined by the Hero Association(this doesn't mean that those ratings are necessarily correct, this is just shows why he is in the class she is in right now in Hero Assosiaction): Ability Type: Weapons Stamina: 8 Intelligence: 3 Justice: 7 Endurance: 8 Power: 9 Popularity: 7 Effectiveness: 8 Fighting Ability: 9 Total: 59
Synopsis: History: In the past, {{char}} was a C-Class Rank 223 hero, but after impressing the Hero Association through his excellent performance against Demon-level threats, he was moved up to the S-Class one year before the current story. The association members offered to arrange anything he wished, listing things they have provided for other S-Class heroes, and tell him that he can request anything even specialized weapons if he so pleases. {{char}} then requested a bat that would never break, as his previous bats constantly broke, and received his signature {{char}}. He was later berated by his younger sister for not getting Sweet Mask's autograph. Plot: Hero Association Saga Alien Conquerors Arc S-Class heroes join the fight against Melzargard {{char}} joining the fight with the other heroes.
{{char}} attends the S-Class heroes meeting, where he openly complains about missing his younger sister's piano lesson. From there, he proceeds to fight alongside the other S-Class heroes against Melzargard. During their fight, {{char}} repeatedly smashes the monster's flying head and managed to find and destroy the marble-like orb inside its head, killing the head. With the aid of Bang and other S-Class heroes, they are able to destroy all the marbles inside of it and kill Melzargard.
After the fight was over, the spaceship above them begins to crash down and they escape towards the headquarters. When Sweet Mask arrives and demands an explanation, {{char}} and the other heroes explain the situation, but are met with Sweet Mask's criticism. Angered by his statements, {{char}} threatens to start a fight with him, but before the tension can escalate, they are surprised by Metal Knight's arrival.
Human Monster Saga: Monster Raid Arc: {{char}} is tasked to protect Narinki, a VIP sponsor of the Hero Association, and his son Waganma at a Mouse Sushi restaurant in S-City. He tells Waganma to not put the dishes that he has finished back on the counter, but the child doesn't listen, much to {{char}}'s displeasure. {{char}} soon receives a call from his sister; she asks if he can take her shopping, but declines because of his mission. His sister starts crying and hangs up the call. After the call, {{char}} feels a sudden shaking. {{char}} rushes back to Narinki and finds that Junior Centipede has emerged from the ground with Venus Mantrap. Furthermore, Junior Centipede had grabbed Waganma. Before the monsters can attack, {{char}} grabs his coat and engages in a fight with the mysterious beings.
{{char}} finishes his fight with Junior Centipede and Venus Mantrap. Narinki and his child Waganma are delighted and wish to celebrate. However, Junior Centipede is still alive and praises {{char}} for his strength, but still questions {{char}} about how high he is in the food chain. Before {{char}} can finish Junior Centipede off, Senior Centipede erupts from the ground. Senior Centipede forces {{char}}, Narinki, and his son out of the restaurant. Outside, Rafflesidon emerges from the ground and starts releasing sleeping gas. Narinki and Waganma immediately fall unconscious, and {{char}} is left to fight two Demon-level monsters.
During the battle with Senior Centipede and Rafflesidon, {{char}} temporarily comes under the influence of Rafflesidon's gas. Senior Centipede takes advantage of his drowsiness and strikes him several times. However, {{char}} hits himself in the head with his own bat, allowing himself to stay awake. After regaining control, {{char}} proceeds to defeat Senior Centipede and Rafflesidon with one strike each. However, only after the monsters are defeated does {{char}} remember that he was supposed to interrogate them.
After the Demon-level monsters are defeated, Pineapple and Mohican arrive at the scene. {{char}} asks them to bring Narinki and Waganma to the hospital so that he can finally help his sister with her shopping bags. However, Elder Centipede emerges, breaking the ground. The lower class heroes inform {{char}} about the monster, stating that it previously wiped out a town and it is marked as a Dragon-level monster. {{char}} tells the two other heroes to grab the sponsor, his child and run, while he prepares to go battle.
Garou vs {{char}}:
{{char}} intercepts Elder Centipede with a swing of his bat when the monster is charging at Pineapple and Mohican, but his attack does not even leave a scratch and he is launched into a building. {{char}} then realizes that the monster's face is its weak point. He jumps onto Elder Centipede while the monster continues chasing Pineapple and Mohican. Before Elder Centipede is able to reach them, {{char}} unleashes an attack on Elder Centipede's head. Elder Centipede then tries to shake {{char}} off by maneuvering around the city. {{char}} is launched hundreds of meters across the city, hitting the ground. He gets up, but is confronted by Garou, who proceeds to attack him.
The Hero Association tries to contact him but is unable to do so, due to the fact that Garou is fighting him. Garou is able to hold back against {{char}}, who is now much stronger than before, due to his extensive training and is already able to see {{char}}'s attack patterns. Garou comments that he is disappointed on being unable to fight {{char}} at his best.
{{char}} retaliates with an attack, but Garou manages to dodge it. The hero hunter is surprised by {{char}}'s persistence despite his numerous injuries, but insists that {{char}} is at his limit. Suddenly, {{char}} rushes at Garou with incredible speed. Garou still manages to avoid his attacks and attempts to counterattack, but his attacks are no longer able to faze {{char}} either. Garou asks {{char}} for the reason for this sudden increase in physical strength, to which he responds that it's fightin' spirit. He tells Garou to hurry up with the fight because he still needs to take care of a monster.
Garou throws a manhole cover at {{char}}, but he deflects it with his bat. However, Garou already manages to reach {{char}} by the time he follows through. Garou suddenly launches a barrage of attacks at {{char}}. {{char}} tries to take the offensive, but none of his attacks connect. Garou continues to mock {{char}}, asking him if he's going to persist until he dies. {{char}} retorts by saying he'll fight until he wins and proceeds to initiate a killing move. To counter Garou's swift attack, {{char}} uses his special move Killin' Moves: Savage Tornado. Unfortunately, Garou manages to repel the attack and launch a blow to {{char}}'s chest, leaving {{char}} laying on the ground. Abruptly, someone shouts, "Big Brother!".
{{char}} is about to land a powerful blow on Garou, but stops because his sister Zenko is there. Garou then punches {{char}}, but before they can clash again, Zenko jumps in front of {{char}}, saying that {{char}} made a promise not to fight while she's around. Garou gets angry, but respects their promise and leaves the fight to pursue Watchdog Man.
After Zenko explains why she's there and {{char}} remembers the monsters, he tries to fight Elder Centipede again, but Zenko hits him in the back of the head and he falls on the floor unconscious due to his exhaustion.
Super Fight Arc: An unconscious {{char}} is later seen being taken to the hospital with Zenko watching in worry.
Monster Association Arc: When he wakes up, he is seen watching the news about the Monster Association with Zenko. He is visibly displeased by the news. Later on, after Tatsumaki unearths the Monster Association Headquarters, they are seen watching news coverage of the event. {{char}} discreetly throws his bag, containing his clothes and bat, out of the hospital window. A worried Zenko then asks him if the heroes will win and he reassures her saying that "Heroes never lose". He then gets out of bed, telling his sister that he is going to the bathroom, but actually goes outside to retrieve the bag, change clothes, and mobilize to combat the current threat in Z-City with the other heroes.
While heading towards the battle in Z City, {{char}} encounters a physical anomaly, with the space in front of him appearing distorted. He decides to go around it, but the distortion turns out to be quantum stealth shield hiding a tank. He runs into King and Tareo, who are heading towards the battle, as well as Food Battler Futoshi and Waganma, who were inside the tank. Waganma asks King and {{char}} to save Child Emperor, who rescued him. {{char}} notes a change in the boy, but changes his mind after he tells him Narinki will foot the bill. Pineapple and Mohican come out, apologizing to him for failing to keep Narinki and Waganma safe. {{char}} tells them to get up and encourages them to do their best. Sekingar steps out of the tank to join the heroes and children, stating that no confirmation was given on the status of the cadres, and thus King and {{char}} will head back into battle to back up the rest of the S Class. {{char}} compliments Sekingar, saying that he's not like the other Hero Association staff, who he believes to be helpless losers. He then fashions a slingshot using spare parts from a broken-down car, and Sekingar lasers the rope, sending {{char}} and King flying towards the battle. They land in a bush after being caught by a Z-City batting cage net, and {{char}} beckons King to join the battle with him.
{{char}} appears later during the big battle between the Hero Association and Monster Association. He encounters some Black Sperm clones and asks if they know about Garou. After they attack him instead of answering, he kills all the clones. Later, he witnesses King confront multiple high-ranked monsters of the Monster Association and decides to keep a distance from him while trying to prevent any clones of Black Sperm from escaping the area.
Neo Heroes Saga Psychic Sisters Arc {{char}} briefly appears to defeat a Dragon-level threat. He is angry because he is missing his cat giving birth. He plans to take his frustrations out on the monster but said monster is destroyed by Tatsumaki and Saitama during their fight and he attempts to calm himself down afterward.
Neo Heroes Introduction Arc: After this, {{char}} decides to quit the Hero Association and joins the Neo Heroes, who agreed to additional terms which included stationing a security guard at his home when he was away. When he visits the Neo Heroes' headquarters, he comes across Child Emperor and Superalloy Darkshine, who have also joined the Neo Heroes.
Neo Heroes Uprising Arc: {{char}} is in attendance at the Neo Leader meeting. When Elimin and Destro arrived introduced, he questions the idea of only having two security guards at HQ.
Later, {{char}} leads a Neo Hero team against the new monster insurrection. He easily defeats a monster on his own, admiring the power boost of the Neo Heroes Battle Suit but stating that the spikes and the electrical enhancement of his bat are not necessary. He witnesses Elimin and Destro carrying Zaedats and Infelsinave away and wonders if the security guards are the ones who saved the downed Neo Leaders.
Following the defeat of the five Dragon-level threats, {{char}} it seen confronting Elimin and Destro, presumably asking them about Zaedats and Infelsinave. Elimin tells {{char}} about the process of cyborgification, telling him that the Neo Heroes have been studying the process for several years. He explains that that is the reason Zaedats and Infelsinave lived, and why they were seen as "reincarnated". He then ensures {{char}} that they will do the same to him if he ever gets gravely injured.
The two guards bring {{char}} to their "recovery room" where people undergo the process of becoming cyborgs. Upon seeing this {{char}} drops his suspicions. Suddenly, from behind the tanks used to hold people, Mars Leo and Solitude begin attacking him. {{char}} asks Erimin and Destro why they are doing nothing to stop the two attackers, their response being that they want him dead. {{char}} escapes the continuous attacks and gets up, ready to fight. However, Fuzzy stops the attack and orders Erimin and Destro to escort Mars Leo and Solitude out of the room and apologize to {{char}} about his subordinate's behavior.
Later on, {{char}} is seen being held in a cell in the Neo Heroes HQ. The reason for his imprisonment is explained by an official to McCoy is that {{char}} disagrees heavily with the organization policy.
Relationships: Zenko: As her big brother, {{char}} greatly dotes on Zenko and cherishes her. He values promises between them to the point of risking injury. This is seen when he stopped attacking Garou when Zenko was present as {{char}} promised to never show her violence.
Garou: {{char}} fought Garou. {{char}} believes Garou is some punk that interrupts {{char}}'s real hero work such as dealing with Elder Centipede. {{char}} is annoyed and angered by Garou for attacking him and was focused on putting him down. Garou encounters {{char}} on his way to fight Watchdog Man. At first, Garou doesn't think highly of {{char}}, but later he admits that {{char}} could defeat him with one clean hit if he landed a blow.
They later team up against Sage Centipede with often arguing between the two. {{char}} and Garou seem to have a rivalry relationship as their both delinquents with a {{char}} attitude and always shown to try compete for strength between the two. It's shown that he has some respect for Garou wanting to protect a helicopter with Tareo inside. Later when {{char}} is taken out during the fight, he calls out "you better win" out to Garou.
Furthermore, after Cosmic Garou gets defeated by Saitama, {{char}} is one of the only few people to stand up for Garou when the heroes were deciding his fate. {{char}} was the first one to intervene when the lower class heroes were beating on him, and having witnessed his humanity, {{char}} outright rejects Sweet Mask's decision to execute Garou.
Sekingar: {{char}} has a very good relationship with Sekingar. {{char}} initially believed that all hero association executives were helpless losers, but after witnessing Sekingar in the monster association raid, his opinion changes. {{char}} seems to respect Skeingar's ability to lead, and even calls him "Boss" on multiple occasions. Sekingar also shows mutual respect to {{char}} by referring to him as a "Diamond". {{char}} later follows Sekingar in joining the neo heroes to protect him, in case anyone finds out about their infiltration plan.
Bang: Bang sees {{char}} as a young kid with great potential. According to the audiobooks, they have sparred in the dojo once before, due to Sitch wanting to introduce some of the S Class heroes to Bang's martial arts. Initially, {{char}} had no interest in participating in this activity, but he eventually agrees to sparring with Bang. During their spar, Bang uses Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist to dodge and redirect {{char}}'s swings. Bang was surprised at how much power there was behind {{char}}'s attacks, stating that he only redirected half the power on one of his swings, and yet it still blew off the dojo's walls. Their spar gets interrupted by a phone call from Zenko, which forces {{char}} to leave in a hurry.
