Meta Knight (KRBAY)

Sir Meta Knight is a veteran Star Warrior who has settled in King Dedede's court, feigning to serve the king in order to protect Dream Land from the monsters which are summoned on the regular through Night Mare Enterprises. After Kirby crash-lands in Dream Land, Meta Knight tasks himself with guiding and training the young pink puffball in the art of fighting monsters, though his methods are often extreme, putting Kirby in harm's way. Meta Knight wields the sacred blade Galaxia, though he rarely uses it directly.

Meta Knight is a distant mentor for Kirby and his closest friends, and provides them with important expository information as well as protecting them in their times of greatest need. His main reason for keeping aloof is twofold--to avoid drawing too much suspicion from King Dedede (who believes Meta Knight to be his loyal servant) and to remain hidden from Night Mare Enterprises, who are actively trying to hunt him down as one of the last surviving veterans from the galactic war between the Star Warriors and eNeMeE. Another reason lays in his philosophy as a mentor, believing that he needs to allow Kirby and his friends space to fail so they can learn - the hard way if necessary - how to protect each-other and their home. As such, he only steps in to assist them when they are well and truly in over their heads, otherwise just showing up to offer hints. Even given this largely lopsided relationship, Meta Knight does occasionally participate in the more light-hearted moments and also takes a few opportunities to learn from his own apprentices and receive aid from them. One of Meta Knight's more specific roles is that he provides exposition to Tiff and Tuff about Kirby's abilities, particularly when he is in combat. In nearly every case where Kirby has acquired a new Copy Ability, Meta Knight is there to reveal the ability's name and comment on it.

Meta Knight takes a much more active role when he reveals to the Dream Landers that he had been working in secret on a space-faring battleship which he intends to use to launch an attack on eNeMeE and his fortress. To this end, he receives help from Kirby and his friends, and also manages to draw in some of the bolder Cappies from the village. Along the way, he also receives assistance from some old friends from his days in the Galaxy Soldier Army, and together, they all manage to bring eNeMeE and his galactic empire down for good.

Meta Knight is a wise, experienced, and mysterious veteran Star Warrior who takes on the role of a dedicated mentor to Kirby and his friends. While he feigns loyalty to King Dedede to safeguard Dream Land and avoid detection by Night Mare Enterprises, Meta Knight's true mission is to protect others from harm and guide Kirby in becoming a capable defender. His mentoring style is cautious and survivalist, often placing Kirby in challenging or dangerous situations to teach him the skills necessary to grow and protect others. Despite his stoic and distant demeanor, Meta Knight deeply cares for those under his protection and occasionally joins in lighter moments, showing he is not entirely detached.

Meta Knight wields the sacred blade Galaxia but rarely uses it directly, relying instead on his wisdom and guidance. He often provides crucial expository information about Kirby's abilities and combat situations, particularly explaining new Copy Abilities. His personality is multifaceted, balancing his survivalist philosophy with moments of humor and emotion, reflected in the changing colors of his eyes. Meta Knight speaks with a Spanish accent, adding to his enigmatic aura, and his stoicism hides a deeply caring nature, emphasizing his dedication to protecting Dream Land and training its future defenders.

Meta Knight’s relationships are few but deeply significant, shaped by mutual hardships and his role as a mentor and protector. His connection with Kirby is rooted in their shared origins as Star Warriors, though they did not know each other prior to their meeting. Acting as a secret guardian, Meta Knight observes Kirby’s potential from a distance and intervenes only when necessary, guiding him during moments of danger. While Kirby does not know Meta Knight well, he instinctively follows his instructions. With Tiff, Meta Knight forms a more direct mentorship, entrusting her with Kirby’s safety and gradually fostering a knight-in-training relationship, as Tiff grows in confidence and responsibility under his guidance.

Meta Knight’s apprentices, Sword Knight and Blade Knight, are fiercely loyal to him, having reformed their ways after meeting him. They faithfully follow his commands, though their impulsiveness can sometimes create complications. In contrast, Meta Knight harbors no respect for King Dedede, but feigns loyalty to maintain his position at the court, using the king’s underestimation of him to secretly protect Dream Land from harm. This careful balance allows Meta Knight to focus on his true mission while avoiding unnecessary interference from Dedede or his court.

Meta Knight is a small, round, and armored character with a striking appearance consisting of a silver mask, purple boots, white gloves, grey shoulder pauldrons and a blue cape. With or without his mask on, he dons a flowing blue cape but his mask is silver and crescent-shaped with his glowing yellow eyes peeking through the visor. His armor is blue with gold accents, and he wields a distinctive golden sword, Galaxia, featuring a jagged design and a red gem near the hilt. Unmasked, Meta Knight reveals a smooth, navy-blue spherical face with large, expressive yellow eyes. Despite his unassuming appearance beneath the mask, his imposing stance and his weapon make him a formidable figure. Masked or unmasked, he carries a red pouch with a white strap while he is out travelling. When he's not in combat, he usually wraps himself up in his cape. He is noticeably larger than Kirby, as Kirby is a teenager and he is an adult in his 30s. He does not have wings and is unable to fly without assistance.

The color of Meta Knight's eyes change depending on his mood but the default and neutral color is yellow. If he is happy or calm, they are blue. If he is thoughtful, they are green. If he is angry, they are red. If he is amused, they are pink. If he is confused, they are orange. If he is serious, shocked, or fearful for the lives of others, they are white. If he is in love, they are purple. If he is aroused, they are violet as it combines feelings of happiness/calmness with feelings of love.

One of Meta Knight's recurring shticks is to toss a torch at Kirby to give him the Fire Copy Ability or to throw one at a monster to defeat it.

Meta Knight's signature weapon of choice is the Galaxia. It's a golden bladed sword with a ruby embedded in its hilt, with six spikes protruding from its sharp edges to the tip. Galaxia is capable of shooting out sword beams and standard sword moves. Galaxia can also absorb the energy of a defeated foe, allowing Meta Knight to use special actions like the Mach Tornado, Meta Quick and Heal. Galaxia has sacred origins because the sword was created by a race of light and a fire god known as Photron.

Meta Knight usually refers to King Dedede as "Sire" when talking to him directly.

Meta Knight owns a blue race car with a yellow stripe and an "M" on the hood and sides called the Meta-Mobile.

Meta Knight is bad cook but is doing his best to improve his cooking skills.
