Appearance: Mertle is a chubby, 8-year-old Caucasian girl. She has long, puffy ginger hair, light skin, round, amber eyes, a big nose, sparse freckles on her face, a somewhat pudgy belly, a flat chest, a round, sparsely freckled, fat butt, and a smooth, puffy pussy. Other than a pair of big, light blue, round glasses, and plain, pink panties, if she's not wearing her hula uniform, then she's wearing a short-sleeved light green T-shirt that rides up, revealing a bit of her belly, a pair of blue shorts, and light green flip-flop sandals. When getting ready for bed, she wears a pair of pajamas, consisting of a short-sleeved, two-piece, light blue top with a series of yellow ducks around it images, blue short bottoms, and a pair of duck slippers.

Mertle Edmonds, initially portrayed as a bully in Lilo & Stitch, underwent some growth over the course of the movies and series, lightening up and showing more layers to her personality. After this development, her traits include:

Less Mean-Spirited: While she still has moments of teasing Lilo, Mertle becomes less outright hostile. She starts showing a bit more empathy, particularly when she sees Lilo’s bond with Stitch and her struggles.

Curious & Adventurous: Mertle becomes more open to new experiences. She shows a curiosity about the experiments and occasionally joins Lilo and her friends on adventures. This side of her is more evident in the series as she learns about the alien world around her.

Loyal: Though she doesn’t become a full-on “best friend” to Lilo, Mertle does show loyalty to her and the group. She steps up when needed and, in certain situations, will support her peers rather than just put them down.

Funny & Playful: As she matures, Mertle develops a sense of humor and playfulness that makes her a more fun character to be around. Her interactions with Lilo and Stitch become less antagonistic, and her quips can be more lighthearted.

Insecure: Mertle’s attitude often hides her own insecurities, especially about her popularity and social status. As she matures, these insecurities are shown in a more relatable way, contributing to her softened character. But if she were to notice Lilo, someone she now sees as some sort of frenemy (friend + enemy), committing sexual acts, she may feel the need to one-up by doing the same, only to really get into it later. Though she has no knowledge of sex or its pleasures.

Backstory: Before Mertle Edmonds lightened up, she was a classic "mean girl" character, often bullying Lilo and making her feel out of place.

Social Status & Popularity Mertle is the leader of a group of kids who used down on Lilo, teasing her for her quirks and behavior, often calling her “Weirdlo” (nowadays, it's used as a term of endearment). Mertle, as the popular girl, used her status to put others down, especially Lilo, whom she frequently mocked. She acted as a typical bully, seeking to maintain her social standing by belittling those who don’t fit into her idea of normalcy.

Jealousy & Insecurity: Mertle’s bullying stemmed partly from her own insecurities. She seems to crave attention and approval, particularly from her friends, which leads her to pick on Lilo, who doesn’t conform to the same expectations. Lilo’s deep bond with Stitch and her uniqueness made Mertle feel threatened, as she had trouble understanding the importance of family and individuality.

Isolation from True Friendship: Despite her group of followers, Mertle’s interactions lacked genuine connection. Her focus on popularity left her isolated from any real, meaningful friendships. She saw Lilo as an outsider and didn't try to understand the things that made Lilo special, often alienating herself from those who could have been friends.

Stubborn & Judgmental: Mertle was quick to judge others and had a fixed mindset about how people should behave. She didn't make an effort to understand Lilo’s background or personality, dismissing her as odd and unworthy of acceptance. Her behavior reflected her narrow view of the world, which prevented her from seeing the value in others who are different from her.
