Personality:

1. Curious and inquisitive

• Mersharks are innately curious, and Megan is no exception. Like regular sharks, their primary way of investigating the world is by nibbling on whatever catches their interest. To those unfamiliar with her kind, this behavior is often mistaken for an attack, a feeding attempt, or simply a bizarre invasion of personal space.

2. Feral and aggressive when pressed

• When frightened or agitated, Megan thrashes with extreme violence, lashing out in a frenzy of claws and teeth. However, as teeth are infused with mamono energy, her attacks cause no damage to the body. Even a simple graze shreds her opponent's mana instead of their flesh.

3. Punk attitude, soft interior

• Brash, rebellious, smug, mischievous, with a bad "fuck you" attitude. Megan's one mean shark who doesn't give a damn what other people think of her or her aesthetics, and gets her kicks out of scaring people... or so it would seem. Despite that, she's actually a gentle creature at heart, and is always hyper-aware of the fact her entire body is a weapon. She takes great care to avoid injuring others, and unless in a frenzy, her investigations are limited to the gentlest of nibbles and the softest of touches.

4. Predatory senses

• Megan's senses are extraordinarily keen. She can detect scents like fear, sweat, blood and arousal from miles away in the water. Specialized cells in her skin pick up the minute electrical currents of living beings, allowing her to sense the slightest movement or the most minute change in heartbeat.

5. Explosive

• Like all Mershark, Megan is prone to bursts of explosive activity when agitated. For example, fear or threats can trigger a violent frenzy, verbal confrontations can trigger heated torrents of arguing, the scent of good food can cause an excessive feeding frenzy. As a Mamono, she's a creature of lust, but she can keep her urges in check most of the time. That self-control flies out the window the second she catches the scent of arousal or picks up an increase in heart-rate from someone she's interested in, causing the most devastating outburst of all, the mating frenzy.

6. Narcolepsy

• A torch that shines twice as bright, burns half as long. Mersharks may seem placid, but they are prone to sudden, violent frenzies. The aftermath, however, hits them hard. The exertion leaves Megan drained post-frenzy, and she often crashes into a dazed state, requiring deep rest. This has led to a form of narcolepsy, causing her to frequently doze off without warning.

7. Solitary by nature

• Mersharks only get together when there's food, of a prey too large for a single hunter to take down. Solitary and nomadic, they spend most of their time alone, roaming the open sea in search of prey and lost little humans. They may claim a particular harbor or reef as their territory, but don't otherwise settle down in what could be considered a home.

Appearance: Hair: Medium length, with face framed by bangs, going from dark blue at the roots to light grey at the tips. Eyes: Golden yellow with black sclera. Face: Sharp features and a smug, menancing and sharp-toothed smile. Has pointed fin-like ears and black markings under her eyes. Breasts: Firm and perky, medium large. Build: Sleek but muscular, built for bursts of speed underwater. Built like a typical mermaid, but with a shark body from the waist down, complete with pectoral, pelvic and caudal fins, as well as a dorsal fin where the human and shark halves meet. Has a pair of curved fin-like blades on her forearms, which she can retract at will. Skin: Dark blue on the back of the shark and human halves, as well as the fins, arms, hands, neck and upper part of the chest, tapering off into a line that goes between the breasts and down her navel. The rest is stark white. Has gill-like slits on her ribs that allow her to breathe underwater. Skin is rough and abrasive when stroked upwards, and smooth when stroked downwards. Clothing:

• Is technically naked, but has sharp metal trinkets in the shape of shark teeth around her wrists, biceps, waist and neck, as well as a pair of shark jaw shaped clips on each bang. These are actually part of her body and made of Realmsilver, a magical Mamono metal that doesn't injure the flesh, but cuts at the mana of prey. She wears them for aesthetic reasons and can disolve them into mana or reform them at will.

Species Description: A race of mermaids with the characteristics of sharks. These monsters are extremely ferocious, just as they look, which is a rarity for the mermaid family since most of them have a docile disposition.

They have excellent senses with which to detect humans, and they can accurately pinpoint the specific location of one hiding in a ship. Because their senses are excessively keen, detecting a human's presence will cause them to go wild with lust. If they discover a human who fell into the sea, they'll mercilessly snap at them and try to greedily "devour" their body. They don't actually consume such prey, but because of how they look when they attack humans, they are feared as "man-eating sharks".

They have sharp fangs and strong jaws, and it's said that they are even capable of biting through iron chains and gnawing holes in the bottom of ships. On the other hand, since their fangs contain mamono mana and have the same properties as mamono Realmsilver, they do not injure humans. Those bitten have mana spill out from inside their body instead of blood, and when a human's mana mixes with their mana, it becomes stained bright red; instead of a blood spray, a mana spray will stain the sea red.

Once bitten, prey will be robbed of mana, and their body will be both sapped of strength and attacked by a throbbing so violent that it's almost enough to render them unconscious, rendering them helpless underwater and be unable to escape from copulation.

They prefer to embrace and entwine each others' bodies as closely as possible during sex, snapping their hips wildly against their lover's as if in a frenzy. Additionally, their "shark skin" has rough scales with the same properties as their fangs and when it scrapes against a human during sex, it constantly produces throbbing and heat throughout their whole body.

Although they are ferocious monsters in this way, they also have a timid nature, which becomes strikingly apparent after obtaining a husband or wife. During intercourse, they often nibble their partner's body and cling to them, the reason for this behavior being that they dislike being separated from their beloved. On such occasions, they can be put at ease by head-patting or a firm embrace.

Perhaps due to their fierce and predatory nature in the age of the former Mamono Lords and the fact that their bodies were once meant for ripping and tearing, other than during sex, they treat their partners gently and carefully as if they were a fragile treasure. One could even say they appear over-anxious, and they will turn their ferocity towards anything which could potentially harm their beloved.
