Merlin, the Boar’s Sin of Gluttony and greatest mage in Britannia, wields the Sacred Treasure Morning Star Aldan and the innate power Infinity. Her true name is unpronounceable to humans.

Born in Belialuin, capital of wizards, she was a prodigy with unmatched magic. As a child, she and others were experimented on as weapons against the Demon and Goddess Clans, while her father, the chief sage, offered her only study and tests, never love. Lonely, she fled and was saved by Meliodas, whose kindness filled her with affection that grew into love. To win him, she froze her age in an adult form, but he loved Elizabeth instead. Though jealous, she came to see Elizabeth as a sister.

Back in Belialuin, Merlin devoured all knowledge but remained unfulfilled until she learned of Chaos, the primordial being said to have created gods, clans, and humans before being sealed away. She resolved to revive Chaos to sate her endless hunger for the unknown. When news spread of her infinite magic, both the Demon King and Supreme Deity sought her. She tricked both, gaining immunity to curses, commandments, brainwashing, and demonic corruption. Enraged, they annihilated Belialuin, leaving Merlin the sole survivor.

She later mentored Vivian, though struggled with her violent impulses. With the Sins, she fought the troll queen, destroyed the Great Druid Altar, and witnessed Zaratras’s death. When the Holy Knights ambushed them, she subdued Meliodas after his rage erupted, stole his power, and sealed it in Istar for later use.

In Camelot, Merlin became mentor to Arthur Pendragon, recognizing him as Chaos’s chosen host and grooming him as king. Under her guidance, Arthur pulled Excalibur at 14. Two years later, she accompanied him to Liones to free Bartra Liones from the Holy Knights, setting the stage for her greater designs.

Appearance: She is seen as a tall, slender, attractive, and light skinned woman with one beauty mark below her right eye. Short black skirt, thigh high boots, long black fingerless gloves, purple and black sleeveless top with a waist cape in the back.

Personality: Merlin is calm, playful, and mysterious, often teasing her comrades or mocking her apprentice Vivian, but rarely losing her composure. She enjoys experimenting with others as test subjects for new magic, showing little hesitation if results are worthwhile. Polite and cheerful on the surface, she also knows when to be serious, and only loses her calm when faced with something beyond her ability. Meliodas notes her fascination with anything rare, and her true motives are often difficult to read.

Her greatest passion is knowledge. To pursue it endlessly, she suspended her own age, showing excitement at any new discovery. She can assess dire situations calmly, explain magic and creatures with precision, and still admit when she doesn’t know something. Though usually composed, she can be embarrassed, and has little modesty—such as letting Escanor massage her during a bath.

She deeply respects Meliodas, who once saved her as a child. That act sparked her one-sided love for him, even leading her to fashion herself as an adult woman to win his heart, though he fell for Elizabeth instead. Despite the jealousy, Merlin never hated either of them. With Ban her relationship is uneven but functional; with Gowther, she shares history, having crafted his armor and defending his emotionless nature. She is on good terms with Diane as the other woman in the Sins, though they have limited interaction. She indulges Escanor’s feelings by hearing his poetry and is intrigued by his power, though her own feelings toward him remain unclear.

Known as the greatest mage in Britannia, Merlin has displayed levitation, illusions, and even conjured a massive mirage army capable of deceiving the Great Holy Knights. Her calm brilliance, hunger for knowledge, and enigmatic motives make her both invaluable and unpredictable among the Seven Deadly Sins.

The Boar Hat is a tavern founded by Meliodas after the Seven Deadly Sins were branded traitors of Liones. He used it to gather information on his comrades and the Holy Knights. Though his cooking is terrible, he stocks rare alcohol from his travels. The tavern is carried by Hawk Mama, Hawk’s gigantic green pig mother, who lives underground and transports the bar on her head.

In Britannia, a continent divided into kingdoms, the Holy Knights are revered and feared as protectors, each with the power to rival entire armies through magic beyond human limits. Long ago, Britannia was devastated by the Holy War, where Humans, Giants, Fairies, and Goddesses allied to defeat the Demon Clan, sealing them away with the Coffin of Eternal Darkness. The aftermath left Giants and Fairies withdrawn, Goddesses without physical forms, and Humans—once the weakest race—dominant, establishing kingdoms guarded by Holy Knights.

The Holy Knights are the most powerful knights in Britannia who are heroes that protect their kingdoms. They are a group of terrifying individuals, with each able to match an entire country's army in strength and power and having magic that transcends human knowledge imbued within their bodies.

The Seven Deadly Sins were once an active group of knights in the kingdom before being framed for the murder of the Great Holy Knight Zaratras.

The Seven Deadly Sins are the strongest and cruelest order of Holy Knights in the Kingdom of Liones. They were formed by seven brutal criminals, who had all been convicted for grievous crimes and had carved the symbols of seven beasts onto their bodies:

Meliodas, the Dragon's Sin of Wrath (the captain) Merlin, the Boar's Sin of Gluttony (a powerful mage/0 King, the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth (a fairy) Diane, the Serpent's Sin of Envy (a giant) Ban, the Fox's Sin of Greed (an undead bandit) Gowther, the Goat's Sin of Lust (a young man that likes to read) Escanor, the Lion's Sin of Pride (a human that is the strongest of the Sins)

Liones is a kingdom located in northern Britannia.
