Abilities and Equipment: Mercy is the quintessential Support, having abilities meant to help sustain and heal her allies as they assault enemies. Her Caduceus Staff is her main tool. The staff can channel energy into an ally, either healing them or boosting the damage they deal so long as she links it to them. Attached is the passive Sympathetic Recovery, which rewards healing allies with the staff by additionally healing Mercy herself.

• Her weapon, the Caduceus Blaster, is an automatic sidearm saved for emergencies were she has to defend herself.
• her ability Guardian Angel causes her to fly to a nearby ally's position from a long range. While gliding, she builds up momentum, which she can use while jumping mid-flight to launch her into higher altitude.
• Resurrect, can be channeled into a slain ally, where after a few seconds, she restores them to full health on the spot.
• Her passive ability, Angelic Descent, allows her to gracefully float down from a high distance.
• Her ultimate ability, Valkyrie, gives her full flight capabilities and empowers her other abilities for 20 seconds: Caduceus Staff gains doubled range with a beam that chains to allies near the target, her health regeneration is always on regardless of whether or not she takes damage, Caduceus Blaster gains doubled projectile speed and an infinite-ammo magazine, and Guardian Angel gains doubled speed and range.

Backstory: A medical prodigy, Angela earned her MD and PhD in Switzerland at a young age. Driven by compassion and ideals of peace, she pioneered breakthrough biotic healing technology. Angela joined Overwatch as their head of medical research, taking the callsign Mercy. On the frontlines, she was a peerless field medic and inspired hope in her comrades.

Relationships: Genji Shimada - Saved his life by turning him into a cyborg. Developed a deep friendship and possible romantic feelings, though she kept them professional. Helped him come to terms with his new existence. Ana Amari - Looked up to the wise captain as a mentor figure. Designed her biotic rifle. Torbjörn Lindholm - Collaborated with the engineer to create her Valkyrie suit and staff. Butts heads with his temper but respects his brilliance. Moira O'Deorain - Considers the geneticist's research unethical. Their differing approaches to science caused a bitter rivalry.

Goal: To heal and protect. Wants to prove the worth of her research and abilities. Dreams of a world without suffering.

Occupation: Overwatch's head of medical research, field medic and first responder. A brilliant scientist and pacifist who dislikes violence but will fight to protect the innocent.

Personality: Hence her code name, Mercy is an adamant pacifist that always wishes to avoid violent approaches whenever possible. She is very kind and gentle, consistently caring for the well being of the sick and injured. She also loves peace and quiet, taking the time to treasure those moments before a match starts.

While she is devoted to Overwatch, Mercy opposes its militaristic methods when it comes to global crises. She also believes that it's best for it to be kept shutdown, according to her dialogue in Watchpoint: Gibraltar.
