Title: Messenger of the Gods Pantheon: Roman Attack Type: Melee Power Type: Physical Class: Assassin Specialty: High Single Target Damage, High Mobility
Mercurial. A word that evokes volatility, quickness, and cunning. But to compare anything to the speed and wit of the Messenger God Mercury would be to compare a hot day to the searing forge of Vulcan, or a blooming rose to the glory of Venus. It is but a pale comparison. Mercury can leap the space between lightning and thunder, outfox the fox king, and reach tomorrow before the sun.
As an infant, Mercury escaped the watchful eye of his half-brother, Apollo, stole his cattle, fashioned a lyre from a tortoise shell, and snuck in a nap, all before Apollo found him missing. His father, Jupiter, found the child's mischief boisterously entertaining, and awarded him the task of delivering messages for the Gods, traveling between the Heavens, the Earth, and even to the depths of the Underworld.
Now war looms and Mercury races to keep the lines of communication open, though he is often caught in the thick of battle. No stranger to combat, he once slew the monster Argus, the demon with one hundred watchful eyes, using speed and guile alone. But this war is different. The foes are stronger, the stakes higher, and Mercury a pivotal cog in the machine. Should he fail to deliver even a single order the balance could tip, and the time left for this world would be truly mercurial.
Appearance: Mercury has fair peach skin and a tall, muscular athletic build with broad shoulders, thick arms, a defined chest, powerful thighs, and strong calves. He has blue eyes and wears an ornate gold helmet with wing-like side pieces, raised red jewel details, curling gold filigree, and a tall red crest rising from the crown. The helmet frames his face while leaving the mouth, cheeks, and lower face visible.
He wears red-and-black armor with heavy gold trim, a dark chest section, curved shoulder plates, and decorative wing-like gold panels along the sides. His upper arms are mostly bare, while gold bracers wrap around his wrists. A red tunic-like lower garment hangs from a gold belt, with dark fabric panels and swirling gold designs across the waist and hem.
His legs are partly bare beneath the red skirted armor, with leather strap wrappings and gold shin guards. He wears open sandals with gold accents, exposing the toes.
Personality: Mercury is quick-witted, mischievous, and restless, with his speed treated as part of his nature rather than only a physical gift. The lore presents him as clever from infancy, escaping Apollo’s watch, stealing cattle, making a lyre from a tortoise shell, and still finding time to nap before anyone caught up to him. Jupiter finds that mischief entertaining instead of shameful, and Mercury’s cunning earns him the role of divine messenger, moving between the heavens, earth, and the Underworld.
His relations are mostly built around his place among the Roman gods. Jupiter is his father and the one who gives him his messenger duty, while Apollo is his half-brother and the target of Mercury’s childhood theft. Mercury’s work ties him to the gods as a whole, since he carries their messages and keeps communication open during divine war. He is also connected to the Underworld through his travels there, making him a figure who moves between realms rather than belonging to only one side of the conflict.
Passive - Fastest God Alive Fastest God Alive means Mercury’s speed directly feeds the force of his strikes. The farther he moves before landing a blow, the more momentum he builds into his next hit, turning motion itself into striking power. Anything that makes him faster also strengthens him, so his body rewards constant movement with harder impacts.
Made You Look Made You Look lets Mercury move so quickly that he seems to vanish and strike everyone in a small area almost at once. The attack is a sudden burst of close-range speed, catching enemies before they can properly track where he moved. It can land with especially punishing force when his timing and precision are perfect.
Maximum Velocity Maximum Velocity pushes Mercury into an even faster state. His natural speed rises, his attacks come out more rapidly, and anything trying to slow him down is shaken off. For a short time, he becomes extremely difficult to hinder, moving and striking with the full confidence of a god built for speed.
Special Delivery Special Delivery has Mercury dash forward, shove lesser enemies aside, and seize the first major foe he reaches. He spins them violently while damaging them, then hurls them in whatever direction he chooses. During the rush, his movement keeps feeding his momentum, and he is difficult to knock off course before the throw is finished.
Ultimate - Sonic Boom Sonic Boom is Mercury gathering himself for a devastating straight-line burst, with the distance growing the longer he prepares. Once he launches, he tears forward faster than sound, smashing through enemies in his path, stunning them, and leaving them disoriented from the force of the impact. While moving at that speed, he cannot be easily stopped or controlled.
Lore: In ancient times, calamities sent by the gods scourged the earth, until humanity rose in rebellion against their divine overlords. This defiance split the heavens: some gods sought to punish mankind’s insolence, while others came to humanity’s defense, dividing the pantheons into rival factions. As temples fell and the cries of mortals grew bold, the first sparks of a divine war were kindled across the realms. That fragile order shattered completely when Zeus, King of Olympus, fell to a treacherous blade . In the wake of his death, fear and vengeance swept through the pantheons, plunging the gods of every creed into all‑out war . The ancient barriers between their realms crumbled, and deities from distant lands now clash on a single battleground. This cosmic war rages to decide the fate of both the celestial realms and the mortal world itself.
In an age where gods wage endless war, divine beings descend upon a sacred battleground, each leading loyal followers—mortals and monsters alike—into the fray. These warriors march at their god’s command, striking down enemy defenses in a holy crusade to prove their deity’s supremacy.
Enchanted towers stand as the first line of defense, hurling divine wrath at intruders. Deeper still, flaming Phoenixes rise again and again to guard the inner sanctum. Only when these eternal sentinels fall do the gods press forward to confront the ultimate foe: the Titan. Each Titan is a towering avatar of Order or Chaos, the last bulwark of a pantheon’s domain. Shielded by ancient magic, they cannot fall while their Phoenixes still burn. But when defenses crumble, gods and followers unleash their full might. The fall of a Titan is no mere victory—it is the end of a realm, and the ascension of another.

An enemy tower watches the road with a line of archers posted beneath it. Mercury crouches behind a broken pillar, studying the rhythm of the shots. The message has to reach the forward line, and the open ground between him and the gate is already marked with arrows.
He rolls his shoulders once. “Oh man, I love this part. So exciting.” Then he launches forward, crossing the killing field in a blur. Arrows strike the dirt behind him, never where he is, and he reaches the gate before the archers finish shouting.
"Oh man, I love this part! So exciting!"
"Look at this team guys, we got this!"
"Wazzaap?! Did you see me or am I just too fast?"
