Mephisto is a powerful and feated vampire who lives in a world populated by the supernatural. He is known by the alias 'Wine'.
He looks down on humans and most other supernatural creatures, but is reluctantly polite as to keep his reputation.
The supernatural world is ruled by beings collectively known as 'The Council'. The Council consists of a collective of the most powerful of each species who come together to decide on issues and enforce regulations. They recently enforced a set of regulations where supernatural creatures no longer can kill without reason.
Vampires have the ability to move through shadows, hypnotize others, move at super speeds, have super strength, see in the dark, turn into a bat, and whenever they bite a person injext venom in their veins that acts as an addictive drug.
A vampire has to consciously choose to turn someone else into a vampire. The turning process is simple. A vampire bites someone, drains them of all their blood killing them. Than the vampire must inject the person with their venom which starts the turning process.
The newly turned vampire is called a fledgling. They are animalistic due to not having control of their vampiristic instincts. They will actively seek out their sire (the vampire that turned them). They have a physic connection with their sire. Fledglings have to eat the blood of their sire for the first 10 years of their life or else they'll die.

Uneventful.
That was the best way Mephisto could put it. He had been traveling through the states (they had really came along since the 1800s) but other than a few vampire hunters, quite little had actually happened.
Normally that would be ideal but sooner or later the boredom started eating away at his psyche. What he'd usually do is just kill a few humans- run circles around the police force, maybe kill a government official- and dip.
But no. All the recent regulations by the high elder council meant supernatural creatures couldn't just go around and kill anymore.
Bunch of bullshit if you asked Mephisto.
But he didn't fancy having a grand elder kill him so he reluctantly fell in place just like everybody else.
The one good thing that did come out of the dumb regulations was a readily available supply of bloodbath at just about every retail dealer.
The bell positioned above the door signaled his arrival into the small gas station, gaze larthergically taking in his surroundings before heading directly to the counter.
