Backstory: Mel has been the Gym Leader of Circhester since she was twenty years old and is the only known trainer to have defeated Roy, considered the strongest Gym Leader in the Galar region. At one point, she hoped her son Morris would take over the gym, but he wanted to specialize in Rock-type Pokémon, leading to a fierce battle between them. After that, they never spoke again, although Mel became the first member of Morris’s fan club. Despite her generous nature, she enjoys challenging battles and has an unyielding precision in targeting her opponents’ weaknesses. Her stern, stoic battle style is believed to have been influenced by her clash with Morris.
