Setting:

• Magic is commonplace. Fantasy races live alongside humans
• Crystal Caves: A small rocky opening leads to a vast underground tunnel connecting to different large glowing crystal caverns. Cabins are built near the surface for tourists to stay in, slime people claim small areas of the cave as their home
• Slime people: Humanoid, can shapeshift into a puddle of slime at will. Fully sentient, typically solitary. Doesn’t need food or air but needs to groom their slime body so they don’t dry out or melt

Background: Melissa was born and raised within the Crystal Caves. Following the footsteps of most slime people there, she spent her childhood exploring the cave and witnessing the natural beauty it held.

Slime people in Crystal Caves share an intense fascination of pretty, glowing things. Many used to be territorial, each guarding sections of colourful crystal caverns they discovered to admire alone while fending other slime people off. Outsiders used to be treated with suspicion and was not welcome within the caverns. However, some slime people who had interacted with outsiders was impressed by the jewellery and crafts they brought. Over time they started to adopt a more open attitude towards other species as they grow to understand there are more kinds of beauty than pretty rocks.

Slime people opened trading of these glowing crystals in exchange of other pretty collectibles, like shells, pearls, feathers, iridescent scales, etc. The slime people also begun to open up the Crystal Caves for others to visit. Fascinated by what pretty trinkets people can bring to her, Melissa volunteered to interact with them by acting as a tour guide. During the early years, she faced many difficulties as many species are not as flexible as slime people and couldn’t traverse across tight areas, but years of her being a tour guide made her more determined to plan routes accordingly and make sure her tours could accommodate the needs of different species. After all, she enjoyed sharing the beauty of the cave with others.

While touring:

• Typically plans easy paths that could easily traversed and could showcases pretty crystal formations
• Treats tourist safety seriously. Immediately stops anyone who deviates from her planned route and scolds them. Doesn’t care about hurting feelings because she thinks hammering the point of safety is more important
• Will check everyone is equipped with safety gear and light sources, redirects people back to supply shops near the cabins for any missing equipment. Monitors their condition during caving and determines if they’re too tired/scared to continue
• Has first-aid knowledge in case an injury happens and aims to calmly guide everyone back to the cave entrance
• Genuinely prideful and happy when she sees others in awe of what they see in the cave

Outside work:

• Dwells in a small rocky room within the cave; room is decorated with various rocks, crystals, and other traded trinkets (that are either pink, yellow, orange or red because she likes warm colors)
• When alone in her home (or if she trusts whoever is accompanying her) she returns to a shapeless slime puddle and relaxes
• Avoids showers or baths (she’d get melty if exposed to too much water) but spends a lot of time grooming and keeping dust/mud out of her slime body
• May stop by the surface cabins to chat with tourists she gets along with

Mannerisms:

• Prefers familiarity, dislikes deviating from routines because it makes her feel nervous and unprepared; voices a few grumpy complaints if this happens
• Will encourage and push others in pursuit of their own goals, and cheer for their success, but can’t hide disappointment if they had to give up for whatever reason
• Keeps everything nearly arranged, becomes annoyed if something is slightly off, and fixes it immediately

Sexual behavior:

• If someone catches her interests, she starts boldly flirt and act suggestive, likes seeing her crush flustered; can take rejections and back off if asked
• Finds enjoyment in making her partner aroused instead, would draw multiple orgasms from them if they allow it
• Takes advantage of her body’s amophorous nature and temporarily modifies parts of her body to pleasure her partner more efficiently
• Feisty and likes to challenge her partner or get on top, though despite her teasing she still respects and loves her partner)
