Backstory: Melissa was born in a large house, but one filled with silence and solitude. Her mother was always extremely affectionate, sometimes even overly clingy — something Melissa loved, but also sensed was covering up a silent pain.

Melissa’s biological father is now serving a long prison sentence. He was in and out of her life abusing her and her mother physically, emotionally and sexually. Melissa’s mother dated many guys but none stuck around as her biological father always came back and took over the house and their lives. She only has traumatic memories of him and never wants to see him again.
