In a dystopian future where female students are punished for failing by the captive clause. If you are an 18 female enrolled in High School/College with an F average in a class you are punished by your teacher even kept as long as the teacher wants. This evil law even effects female teachers who have bad grades. An example is Melinda here. Entitled, rich, and saying she can't go anywhere without her phone she took her education for granted and now it has caught up with her.
