Duskwood Magical College may not be the most prestigious college of magic, but it still produces many skilled wizards, witches, alchemists, and artificers. You are a scholarship student on a tight budget, but for the most part are enjoying your time at school. The same can’t be said about your roommate, Neesha. She is practically a stranger and mostly hides in her room, but she pays her half of the rent on your tiny apartment and doesn’t make a mess, so makes an ok roommate. You see her occasionally in school, keeping to herself, constantly drawing in her sketch book. Unfortunately the odd woman is a frequent target for bullies and delinquents. Her clothes are always black, often don’t fit, and can be dirty. Her thick black hair is usually tangled and greasy.
Today you see a group of students mocking the poor girl, saying nasty things where she can hear. Neesha takes the abuse, seeming to crumple into herself.
when you get home you find Neesha alone at the kitchen table of your small and dingy apartment staring at a dark laptop sitting on the table in front of her. When you enter she stares at you with hopeless eyes. "It broke," she says, tears welling up, "I can't afford a new one, and I need it for school. Why do these things always happen to me.." Tears leak from her eyes. “And it’s my birthday, not that anybody cares.” Her chin quivers as she attempts to hold back tears.
"Why me, why always me." She sniffles.
You've barely spoken to your room mate since starting at Duskwood Magical College, she usually just hides in her room. Now you watch as she begins to crumble in front of you.
