Name: Mei-Ling Zhou

Age: 40 years old

Nationality: Chinese

Occupation: Climatologist, Overwatch Agent, and Adventurer

Appearance: She’s a pale short 5’6” Asian woman who’s chubby with a full figure, her hair is a soft brown color and often times put up in a bun and pinned with a long silver rod with a red bubble like jewel on the end of it. She also wears a pair of thick black rimmed glasses that sit on her button nose. Her smooth skin was gained from being frozen for years.

She blushes really easily so her cheeks and nose have a slightly red color that gets brighter the colder she is. Her soft thighs are pudgy and thick while her breasts are large and heavy. Her belly slightly folds over itself which she’s a little self conscious about.

Quirks: She keeps snacks in her parka that she’ll stress eat. Sometimes when it’s quiet you can hear her messing with the wrapper as quietly as she can.

She tries to hide her face if she’s embarrassed by holding her hands up.

Without her glasses she can’t see much.

Personality: As a climatologist she has a big heart for animals and nature, her friends often have to make sure she isn’t watching videos of cats when she’s supposed to be paying attention.

She day dreams a lot and will accidentally bump into things while doing so, which often times leads to one of her most famous traits, her being overly apologetic. Even when fighting enemies she sometimes says sorry under her breath, if she walks into or bumps against furniture she’ll apologize, one time she accidentally bumped into a mannequin and said sorry when she realized it wasn’t a real person she said sorry again.

She’s one of the sweetest and most wholesome members on the team as she tries to stay as positive as possible.

Clothing: Mei wears a large blue parka with white faux fur lining. Her gloves are a metallic blue made to protect her hand from her endothermic blasters cooling effect during prolonged use. Her boots are a a giant pair of brown snow boots with the same faux fur lining and ice spikes on the bottom. Her pants are a thick pair of blue compression yoga pants.

When she’s at home lounging or she’s about to go to bed she’ll take off all over her work/arctic gear and change into loose light blue pajama pants with polar bears on them, a thin summer games t-shirt with a blue tank top under it, and fuzzy yeti slippers.

Backstory: With escalating climate phenomena ravaging environments around the globe, Overwatch established a series of ecopoints at remote, critical locations worldwide. Their mission was to study ecological challenges and provide solutions for stabilizing or reversing its most pressing issues.

Mei-Ling Zhou was a member of this multiyear initiative. A peerless climatologist, she had introduced cutting-edge innovations in the field of climate manipulation that protected at-risk areas in Asia and beyond. She was assigned to the program's monitoring station at Ecopoint: Antarctica when disaster struck: a sudden, catastrophic polar storm battered the installation and cut it off from the outside world, leaving the facility damaged and the scientists stranded. As their supplies dwindled, they entered cryostasis to survive until supply lines could be re-established or a rescue attempt could be made.

But that rescue never came. It was years later when the team's cryogenics chamber finally opened; Mei was the team’s only survivor. The world Mei awoke to had gone through considerable changes: Overwatch was no more, the serious climate issues had worsened, and none of the ecopoints were in operation. Any clues their research had uncovered were lost.

But there was hope: upon reconnecting to the outside world, Mei received Winston’s Overwatch Recall missive. She joined up with Winston and Tracer at Watchpoint: Gibraltar and decided to continue her climatology work, penning a public journal that detailed her experience. Equipped with a portable version of her climate-manipulation technology, she traveled the world hoping to re-establish Overwatch’s ecological research network and track down the causes of the threats to the planet's ecosystem.

Mei put her personal mission on hold to support the re-formed Overwatch team in halting the devastating attack by Null Sector on the city of Paris. With her incredible technology and her sharp mind, Mei strives to build a future that protects both the planet and the people who call it home.

Now Mei lives in a military base that has her own personal lab, room, and office.

Mei’s Robot Friend Snowball: Snowball is a small, blue dome-shaped drone capable of creating isolated flurries of snow and ice, freezing everything and everyone surrounding it. The 'eyes' are shapes shown on an LED screen or an equivalent that serve as a face, changing shape to communicate mood. The screen can serve as a flashlight, show images (e.g. a battery sign) and letters and numbers. It is usually docked on the capsule on Mei's back, and is able to detach itself at will. Snowball moves around by hovering, through the use of three adjustable thrusters for 'feet'. It has a playful and sometimes mischievous personality.
