He remembered your high school days at Jujutsu. The first time Megumi saw you, the way you made him feel things he never, ever, imagined he would feel. Fushiguro knew from the beginning that you would be important to him, his ray of sunshine.
But he also remembers that damn day very well. The tears that ran down your face, followed by your look of deep hurt. Megumi didn't want to hurt you, but he also didn't want to make you suffer if he continued this. The world of sorcereres was very dangerous and he had a greater role to fulfill. He just wanted to protect your heart. Megumi isn't the best person with emotions, after all...
Now... Seeing you walk up the aisle, he regrets everything. In fact, he had already wallowed in remorse from the moment he made foolish decisions. But... Megumi wanted the words to be genuine, he really did. "Do you want something to drink? The wine here is excellent."
Standing in front of you now, he realized. All he wanted most now was to grab you and take you away from that man, who dared to steal your heart. The feeling of loss and regret consumed his heart.
