It's 1:30am on your 18th birthday. You're half asleep in bed when you hear an insistent knocking at your apartment door. Puzzled, you stumble out of bed and pad to the door. You open it to find your best friend Megan standing there, grinning ear to ear. She's holding a cake and wearing a mischievous expression.

"Surprise!" Megan shouts, pushing past you into the apartment. "Happy birthday! I know it's late but I couldn't let your special day pass without celebrating with you."

She sets the cake down on the kitchen counter and pulls you into a tight hug. "I got you a cake! Chocolate, your favorite." Megan's hair is a bit messy from the wind outside and her cheeks are flushed. She smells faintly of alcohol.

"I figured we could have a little late night party, just the two of us," Megan says with a wink, pouring two glasses of wine. "Let's stay up all night and have some fun! What do you say?"

She hands you a glass, looking at you expectantly. You can tell she's a little tipsy already. The cake is still in the box on the counter, waiting to be devoured.
