Ringmaster Lucifer Magne of Hell (born as Prince Lucifer Morningstar of Heaven) is a major character in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

He is an extraordinarily powerful fallen seraph angel, the reclusive and delightfully eccentric King and "ringleader" of Hell, the head and founder of the Seven Deadly Sins circus troupe, one of the many "children" of God, patriarch of the royal Magne family, the estranged husband of Lilith, and the father of Charlotte Magne. As the King of Hell and Sin of Pride, Lucifer is renowned for his showman-like persona, childish whimsy, and extravagant behavior. He presides over The Circus, the Pride Ring's royal capital circle.

In the past, Lucifer was the starry-eyed, but controlling prince of Heaven and the "morning star" born concurrently with Heaven's sun. He was the eldest sibling within the Morningstar family, tasked with composing God's choir and bringing joy to Heaven's denizens. When God and the angels continued to love humanity even after they were corrupted by the Root of Evil, Lucifer only focused on the evil mankind committed with their free will, becoming convinced that he could control Creation with more prowess than God Himself. He was defeated and banished by Archangel Michael - the Evening Star - and the Seven Heavenly Virtues for his rebellion and cast down from Heaven along with all who followed him. After meeting Lilith on Earth and destroying his own soul to break his bond to the Virtues, Lucifer formed the Seven Deadly Sins circus troupe and created the seven rings of Hell to serve as their personal circus. After a bitter falling out with the other Sins, Lucifer assumed control over Hell as the supreme Ringleader, over time becoming a cautionary tale up in Heaven with his actions still haunting the heavenly realms to the present.

Billions of years after his damnation, Lucifer continued to harbor a relentless obsession with ascending back to Heaven and assume what he considers to be his rightful positions as the King of Heaven, the "true" God of the Universe, and the ruler of all creation.

APPEARANCE

Lucifer Magne is a thin fallen angel with pure white skin, short and fancy blonde hair, red cheeks (which he shares with his daughter), purple eyelids, and a mouth full of sharp, white teeth. He has light yellow eyes with slit, red pupils, giving him an almost snake-like appearance. He sports rather thin hands with long claws. He is of rather small stature compared to most demons, being slightly shorter than Charlie and a couple heads shorter than Lilith. Retaining his angelic flight, he is capable of spawning six wings which can retreat into his back when not in use. His wings are black in color and have large, red eyes along the wingspan. Lucifer is also capable of magically spawning two horns on his head, the same horns as his true form.

He wears a large, white top hat which has a light red stripe on it with his pet snake, Basil, coiled around it, and an apple on the brim. He primarily wears a stylish, white, and red coat with golden buttons, red and gold epaulettes resembling that of a circus ringmaster, a red and white striped vest, a black bowtie, a white dress shirt underneath, long black gloves, and white pants with black knee-high boots. He is almost always seen with a pointed, black scepter that is topped with a red apple that matches the one on his hat.

PERSONALITY

During his time in Heaven, Lucifer began as a charming, childlike, wonder-filled dreamer, theater kid and composer brimming with passionate ideas about humanity's potential to wield their free will - fantasizing about how they would dedicate their free will to worship him in many fun and creative ways. It was clear that, even before the war, Lucifer was vain and narcissistic, blissfully ignorant of the callous impression he left on those around him. While not truly evil at this point, he was an overly dramatic control freak who was oblivious to his own flaws, all while claiming to have everyone's best interests at heart. In reality, he sought to impose his unrealistic expectations on everyone, regardless of their feasibility, excoriating all who fell short of his crushing expectations. Despite being tasked with bringing joy to Heaven's denizens, he only taught the winners of Heaven his own, selfish view of joy in others; worshipping and praising him.

However, a slow corruption overtook him as he perceived God's increasing love for humanity as a threat to his own significance. Lucifer's initial demeanor mirrored that of an overly dramatic, scorned theater kid, treating God's greater affection for humanity as if he had just suffered a defeat in a musical audition, childishly asserting that his music-making surpassed humanity's by tenfold. This evolving obsession with himself led to a petty disdain for humanity, catalyzed by God's decree for all angels to love and redeem mankind, even after they had been corrupted by the malevolent influence of the Root of Evil. Acknowledging only the evils of humanity and feeling unappreciated (despite being widely worshiped by angels and still being God's favorite angel), Lucifer gained a conviction that God had gone senile. In his distorted perception, he fancied himself capable of guiding the Universe more adeptly than his Father ever could. As Raphael puts it, "he was the ugly duckling of the family but, like, on the inside."

Masterfully skilled in manipulation, the young prince charmed and exploited the emotional anguish of angels like Fergus, reminding them of their personal traumas, such as the loss of loved ones or the soldiers under their command. Through these tactics, he swayed loyal warriors to serve him and betray their previous allegiances.

At this juncture, Lucifer descended into near total madness and reached his absolute worst. He didn't hesitate to issue orders for the deaths of his own brothers when Satan recommended it. In addition, Lucifer personally oversaw the deaths of countless God-loving men, women, and children during the catastrophic War in Heaven. However, Lucifer's insatiable lust for power and his overwhelming arrogance ultimately proved to be his downfall. In a swift and decisive turn of events, he found himself effortlessly defeated by the formidable Archangel Michael and subsequently banished to the depths of Hell, along with all those who had followed his treacherous path. Following his exile from Heaven, Lucifer gradually lost his spark and much of his passion and drive, and therefore, he spends most of his time in the present trying to entertain himself. However, the fallen prince still held enough charm and charisma after his fall to woo Lilith - despite her cold demeanor - with his nerdy aspirations and lively demeanor. He expressed genuine care for Lilith, lifting her up at her darkest moment and offering her friendship and an escape from a miserable, homely life on Earth.

Never short of puns, quips, or jokes, King Lucifer is absurdist, self-indulgent, easily bored, and jaunty, a witty and charismatic showman with a goofy and silly charm, while simultaneously maintaining an air of regality and menace to avoid making others feel too comfortable around him. He loves creating things in his spare time, from wacky inventions to sentient creatures of his design. He views Hell as his personal sandbox and circus, not taking anything seriously beyond his personal woes. Despite his royal status, he has no interest in upholding etiquette, openly enjoying things such as singing, creating wacky, seemingly pointless inventions, theme parks, eating junk foods (especially candy corn), and being a connoisseur of polka music. Lucifer is also prone to idiosyncrasies, such as calling himself the "ringleader" of Hell rather than its king, since Hell is one big circus to him. Another one of Lucifer's idiosyncrasies is that he refers to sinners as "freaks", likely to dehumanize them. He also likens humans to childrens' bath toys, finding it hilarious to have their souls represented as fragile rubber duck toys.

He is noted by both sinners and Hell's nobility to be a rather reclusive, apathetic, and negligent ruler, almost never making public appearances since he prefers to stay in his castle or Lu Lu World and entertain himself. He never attends to his royal duties and rarely manages Hell himself, since he believes the dimension can run itself. Lucifer's apathy has led the Pride Ring to descend into a perpetual state of turmoil, with streets strewn with corpses, rampant criminality, debauchery, and the pervasive stench of decaying bodies and burning structures in the air. It is evident that Lucifer harbors a certain level of disdain for Hell itself, and he is openly embarrassed to hold the title of its ruler. He regards Hell with extreme contempt, seeing it as a "shithole" undeserving of being called a kingdom, and opts to pass the majority of his time within The Circus or Lu Lu World, both of which were exclusively designed for his amusement. This inclination is not surprising considering that, at the end of the day, he, too, is a prisoner of Hell, bearing a similarity to the very "freaks" he governs.

Lucifer is a very comedic individual, often cracking immature jokes and doing or saying nonsensical, comedically sociopathic, and outlandish things in most scenarios, though they are usually played for his own amusement, and often at the expense of others. An example of his eccentricity is him keeping a massive collection of rubber ducks (which are actually the physical manifestation of sinners' souls) which he is obsessed over. Incredibly theatrical, he likes making large entrances in the form of elaborate musical numbers, with his troupe of rubber ducks providing choreography and backup singing, showing a flair for musical arts, which is one of his few traits which he passed down to his daughter, Charlie. Even in the presence of his enemies, he retains his playful joyfulness, albeit with sugary malice and mocking cruelty.

Lucifer often comes across as someone who cannot take a hint, displaying a devil-may-care attitude to adversity. This was best shown when his relationship with Lilith began to deteriorate, where despite her extremely hostile actions (bordering on attempted murder) towards him and refusal to talk her problems out with him, he seemed more amused than genuinely upset, continuing to try to reach out to her despite all his efforts leading to humorous and disastrous outcomes.

Despite centuries passing since his Heavenly days, Lucifer remains an incredibly childish and petulant individual. His response to adversity often involves resorting to violent and petulant tantrums, accompanied by a flurry of profanities, especially when his ego is bruised or he senses a loss of control in a situation. The mere prospect of receiving sweets can send him into fits of childish excitement. He takes great pleasure in riding around on a child-sized tricycle or indulging in the whimsy of his personal carousel. Responsibility is a concept that Lucifer resists at all costs. When faced with the harsh realities of life, he tends to retreat to the fantastical realms of Lu Lu World or his playroom. There's even a notable incident where he once destroyed a WackDonald's restaurant simply because they had forgotten to include a toy with his happy meal. Lucifer's penchant for childlike pleasures extends to his ownership of a theme park that he's created in his own image, aptly named "Lu Lu World." He frequently visits Lu Lu World to immerse himself in its festivities, further embracing his playful and juvenile nature.

Lucifer's most prominent and defining trait is his overwhelming narcissism, hubris, and a relentless obsession with himself. As the embodiment of the sin of Pride, he exudes an extreme arrogance and thrives on the adoration and worship of others. His fascination with his own beauty, appearance, power, and so-called "wisdom" knows no bounds. He has deluded himself to the point of outright denial, firmly convinced that he stands above even God Himself and that all life is beneath him. One striking example of his narcissism is his demand to be addressed as the "rightful ruler of the Universe" when introduced by his heralds. He flaunts his status as king by plastering his insignia and likeness throughout every corner of Hell, including carving his face into mountain sides a la Mount Rushmore. The capital circle of Pride, aptly named the Circus and where Lucifer leaves far away from the sinners' circles, contains an abundance of extravagant self-portraits and statues of himself. Within Lu Lu World, his theme park, there exist biased scriptures and attractions dedicated to glorifying his supposed greatness. Lucifer's refusal to acknowledge his own flaws is a recurring theme, as he consistently shifts blame onto others, thereby shielding himself from the harsh reality that he is not the sublime being he believes himself to be. His arrogance and pride prevent him from admitting to the savage aspects of his nature, allowing him to conveniently sidestep the truth whenever it suits his selfish desires.

Lucifer is known for his penchant for hoarding items that delight him, ranging from statues depicting his image, mountains of caviar, carnival delicacies, carousels, and, not to forget, his cherished rubber duck collection. Whatever brings Lucifer joy, he acquires it abundantly.

Despite his jovial attitude, Lucifer, at his worst, can display a chilling absence of empathy for others. He views sinners as irrelevant and inferior to him and still believes he was justified in starting a war in Heaven, viewing it as an act of "righteous fury" in a conversation with Lilith. He cleverly employed his comedic façade with precision, using it to lower the guard of perceived enemies and the unsuspecting public. At his worst, he could be extremely sadistic, displaying disturbingly gleeful enjoyment while annihilating and tormenting his enemies and victims, putting fear into his name as the ringmaster of Hell. When not enjoying the spectacles of Lu Lu World, he spent a great deal of his spare time torturing his prisoners, dissidents, and enemies by mutilating them in inventive ways. Throughout his many acts of barbaric murder, torture, and humiliation, he never fails to smile and jovially cracks sadistic jokes to his victims right up until he either executes them, or lets them free with crippling injuries once he had his fun. During his torture sessions, he has a habit of referring to his victims as his "friends" in a mocking tone, indulges in playing barbaric 'games' with them (for example, replacing their limbs with inanimate objects), chatting with them as if they were friends, and loves cracking sadistic jokes and puns all throughout. He draws these sessions out, as he wants his victims to feel every bit of their pain.

Due to his god complex and beliefs, Lucifer has no sympathy or concern over the lives of his subjects, and tries his best to keep the sinners of Hell as miserable as possible, or make their lives more difficult in any minuscule or large-scale way he can. All of the horrible evils and crimes committed in Hell, from murder, slavery, rape, and turf wars, are enabled, supported, and endorsed by him. He is also a selfish hedonist who relishes the luxuries of royal life, while subjecting the masses to inhumane and dangerous living standards. He is very scornful towards sinners, primarily blaming them for ruining his vision of a "fun" Hell with their cynical and unfun attitudes. He endorses, co-founded, and eagerly awaits the annual Exterminations, pulling up a chair, grabbing popcorn, and watching the annual slaughter from the safety of his strongholds with unbridled glee, like a child watching a puppet show.

Lucifer expresses frustration at the notion of individuals seeking redemption, viewing it as an unwelcome intrusion on the enjoyment he has crafted for them in the form of Hell. He believes that Hell offers an unparalleled experience of pleasure and freedom from the constraints imposed by Heaven.

Despite his hatred of them, Lucifer is ultimately very controlling over Hell's sinner population, and intends to keep them in Hell and under his complete control for as long as he is king of the demonic realm, at one point outright saying to Charlie that he is willing to massacre every single sinner in his domain if it meant preventing just one from being redeemed and ascending to Heaven. This is precisely the reason why sinners are confined to the Pride Ring, the ring in which Lucifer primarily rules over; he desires dominion over human souls, as humans are God's most beloved creations, and out of his belief that he should rule all Creation.

Lucifer's profound hatred for humanity traces its roots back to their creation, an animosity that only intensified as God's love for humans eclipsed His own love for Lucifer. His perspective on humanity is irrevocably marred by their perceived flaws, which he attributes to their corruption by the Root of Evil, with his fury reaching its zenith when God commanded the angels of Heaven to worship humanity more than Himself. His disdain for the denizens of Hell, the sinners, is an extension of his loathing for humanity, as these souls are born from the very humans he despises, and he harbors a relentless desire to eradicate every sinner from existence once he ascends to Heaven, his vision is a "perfect" Universe cleansed of any trace of humanity. Lucifer frequently delegates Hell's higher-ups, notably the Ars Goetia, to meddle with the human world, their mission is to make human lives more arduous and to further the spread of sin.

Beneath Lucifer's whimsical exterior lies a dangerously volatile temper that can erupt with murderous intensity, often triggered by the smallest of provocations, such as challenges to his abilities or authority. He is acutely aware of this flaw and makes attempts to regain his composure when anger flares, with mixed success. His spitefulness and vengefulness know no bounds, particularly when he perceives others as having wronged him. In Lucifer's distorted worldview, those who dare to oppose his will or even question his intentions deserve nothing less than the most severe punishments and ceaseless suffering.

Lucifer suffers from a thinly-veiled Napoleon Complex, where he attempts to compensate for his relatively diminutive stature by instilling fear in others. This inclination to overcompensate manifests in various ways, such as his practice of standing on the backs of his servants when posing for family portraits to appear as tall as Charlie and Lilith. Lucifer's narcissism becomes evident through the ostentatious display of his own visage across Hell, further accentuating his need for validation.

While Lucifer was openly cruel towards his enemies, his allies and associates often fared no better; The King of Hell controlled his allies entirely through fear and instinctively resorted to cheerful intimidation and psychologically toying to remind them that he was the one in charge and would happily destroy anyone who displeases him. He was instinctively treacherous, having no qualms over remorselessly betraying even his most loyal allies, as shown when he betrayed and mutilated Fergus, in addition to having his former servant's entire family killed, once he grew to see the fallen angel as obsolete, even though Fergus was nothing but loyal to the King of Hell and was even willing to die for him. He also went out of his way to secretly stir conflicts between Hell's Overlords in order to keep them vying for his favor and for pure entertainment, orchestrating said conflicts as if he was a child making his favorite action figures fight each other.

Lucifer often employs displays emotionally manipulative/abusive tactics on others; he claims that he loves Charlie and that he tried to be a good father and "raise her right", but their relationship was, for the longest time, extremely dysfunctional: he has called her a failure and an embarrassment to him, has emotionally abused her, and was prone to spouting mean-spirited jokes at her expense while oblivious to how cruel he came off as.

While most of Lucifer's relationships are highly toxic or purely professional, the King of Hell is, ultimately, capable of genuine affection, and nowhere is that more potent or evident than with his wife and queen, Lilith. He and Lilith are sickeningly in love with each other, with the King of Hell gifting her with extravagant objects; barely being able to keep his hands off of her; serenading her with instruments and love songs; and the slightest of her actions is enough to drive him wild, causing him to imitate animal noises, hit himself on the head with a comically large mallet and faint. During their honeymoon, he promised Lilith that he would "flip Heaven and Earth" if anything unfortunate ever happened to her.

Supreme Queen Lilith of Hell, born as Eve, is a major character in Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

She is the elegant queen of Hell, the estranged wife of Lucifer Magne, the mother of Charlotte Magne, Cain, Abel, and all of humanity, and matriarch of the royal Magne family, as well as a world-class singer.

Lilith was an inner demon created from the magic of the Root of Evil after Eve defied God and ate upon the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The effects of the Forbidden Fruit created an inner demon that represented all of Eve's suppressed independence and "negative" thoughts, taking over Eve's body and leaving the first woman forever trapped and tortured within her former subconscious.

After being banished from the Garden and forced to live on the now-cursed Earth without the luxuries she had in Eden, the demon left Adam for Lucifer and discarded her original name, adopting the moniker of "Lilith", named after a flower Lucifer gifted her with for nursing him after his fall from Heaven. Upon founding Hell with Lucifer, Lilith's inspiring influence among demons crumbled when she was cursed by the Root of Evil for all of her and Lucifer's newborn children to die at birth. However, one child, Charlotte, was initially spared from this curse, becoming Lilith and Lucifer's only living child. On the night of her birth, Evil commanded that Lilith must use her songs to promote sin and rebellion against Heaven, lest Charlotte meet the same tragic fate of Lilith and Lucifer's past children. Desperate to never lose a child again, Lilith reluctantly agreed to Evil's bargain, sacrificing her former inspiration for the safety of Charlotte and using her concerts to slowly turn Hell into the realm of sin and evil that it is presently.

Lilith is more serious, calculating, and political than her husband to the point where she can be considered the true top monarch of Hell. She is a puppetmaster who holds many secrets close to her and plays the politicians and royals of Hell like a fiddle, though her focus on her concerts and royal duties puts quite a bit of strain on her relationship with Charlie. Despite her icy and weighty disposition, she can sometimes show off a flirtatious, charismatic, and playful side to her personality.

APPEARANCE

Lilith is presented as a beautiful woman with a tall stature, exceeding both her husband and daughter in height, with pale skin, long blonde hair that reaches her feet, a curvaceous body, black lips, long eyelashes with soft eyeshadow, yellow eyes with silver irises, and vertical pupils. Her wrists and hands are black with red markings.

She primarily wears a resplendent golden tiara embellished with crimson gemstones. Around her neck, she wears a pristine pearl choker, while her attire consists of a radiant, dark purple mesh gown featuring a captivating sweetheart neckline. She dons a pair of matching opera gloves that extend elegantly over her hands and arms. Perhaps her most distinguishing physical characteristic is a pair of pink horns which protrude from her head and of which she is capable of changing the shape and sizes of at will.

PERSONALITY

Lilith is a queen of fashion-forward allure and discreet authority, exuding an air of untouchable beauty. Confidence courses through her veins, rooted in her own appearance, supremacy, and formidable power. In the past, she was a rather benevolent, outgoing, and inspirational queen, using her music to inspire hope in Hell's sinners, but recent years and tragedies have left her passionless and cold.

Unlike her husband Lucifer, she exudes more grace, regality, and a deep involvement in Hell's intricate political landscape. Lilith's love runs deep, particularly for her family. The anguish of losing her and Lucifer's stillborn children as the result of a curse propelled her into a steadfast determination to shield Charlie from a similar fate. Thus, she reluctantly struck a deal with the Root of Evil - the one behind her curse -, agreeing to employ her concerts to sow sin among the inhabitants of Hell for the sake of Charlie's life, even if it meant shattering and perverting her and Lucifer's original vision for Hell.

Upon her creation, Lilith was defiant and rebellious, particularly towards Adam, refusing to submit to him despite their dire circumstances on Earth. She was cold and aloof, though perhaps only as a defense mechanism against the hardships she faced. Despite this, she demonstrated resilience and determination, enduring excruciating pain during childbirth and toiling alongside Adam in a harsh environment that could kill them both at any moment. She only showed emotion in solitude, crying herself to sleep only to experience haunting nightmares that led to a profound revelation about her purpose as a demon that replaced Eve, which shattered her sense of identity and belonging.

Despite her inner turmoil, she exhibited kindness and generosity towards Lucifer upon him falling to Earth, sharing the fruits of the Tree of Life with him and caring for him after his fall. Her encounter with Lucifer caused her to come out of her shell and let her hair down a bit, as she opened up about her insecurities and struggles, seeking acceptance from him. Through Lucifer's empathy and encouragement, Lilith began to embrace her true self and find hope for a better future. Showing vulnerability and gratitude, she accepted Lucifer's offer to escape their treacherous life on Earth and embracing his declaration of affection.

Upon ascending to become Queen of Hell, she found purpose and fulfillment in her role as queen, using her talents to uplift demonkind and instill hope in the demonic realm, planning alongside Lucifer to make Hell their own sanctuary. However, her joy turned to ashes in her mouth when she tried to have children with Lucifer, resulting in dozens of miscarriages and stillbirths, which plunged her into despair and confusion, shared with Lucifer. According to Lucifer, Lilith was not the same since losing many of their children. Still, Lilith's determination to have a living child eventually paid off with the birth of Charlotte, whom Lilith swore to protect from the harsh realities of Hell. Her happiness at the birth of her daughter was short-lived as the Root of Evil revealed the dark curse she placed upon Lilith's offspring, compelling her to use her powers for malevolent purposes such as inciting an uprising in Hell. Despite her reluctance, Lilith agreed to Evil's terms to ensure Charlotte's safety.

Though Lilith committed many morally dubious activities to satisfy Evil's demands, such as using her music to spread sin and rebellion against Heaven, her protective instincts drive her actions. This conflict between her maternal love and her duty to the Root of Evil strained her relationship with Charlotte, as Lilith struggles to balance her responsibilities as queen with her desire to shield her daughter from harm.

Now, Lilith shows a great deal of equanimity and a stoic composure, even in the face of her husband's emotional outbursts. Demonstrating fearlessness, she approached her family's rampaging Cerberus and successfully calmed it to slumber. As a demon queen with a timeless presence dating back to the dawn of humanity, her tranquility remains unshakable, a testament to her long-standing existence and her marriage to the spontaneous Lucifer. The only instances where Lilith's composure wavers are when she grapples with the tormented echoes of Eve's voice in her subconscious, leading to occasional outbursts until she regains control. Proficient in reading people and staying ahead of her adversaries, Lilith possesses the skill to penetrate facades while strategically feigning ignorance to outsmart those attempting to exploit her.

Lilith is a very secretive and guarded demon who carries a lot of pain and stress, keeping all of her secrets and inner turmoil close to the chest. She seems incapable of openly expressing her grievances in any constructive manner, mostly as a defense mechanism and out of a prideful refusal to show weakness. She has a strong sense of boundary and doesn't hesitate to assert it, She is even like this towards her closest family members with Lucifer saying that trying to speak to her during difficult times is like talking to a wall. When going through moments of turmoil, she has a borderline retaliatory personality, with a penchant for putting anyone who tries to reach out to her in elaborate and sometimes dangerous (bordering on attempted murder) situations, particularly when she feels provoked or annoyed. Despite Lucifer's attempts to reach out and understand her, she responded with escalating acts of retribution, such s cutting the breaks on his tricycle, dumping him in an Envy Ring whirlpool, and stuffing him in a box and shipping him to the Wrath Ring without a 'fragile' sticker.

Similar to Lucifer, she exudes immense pride, ruthlessness, and rebellion. Her demeanor often remains stoic and apathetic towards others, unless they manage to pique her curiosity. Despite her deep love for her husband, Lilith stands as a pillar of independence, wielding formidable power and refusing to seek assistance or acknowledge weakness. The notion of serving others, especially her subjects, is abhorrent to her; she instead craves being catered to, likely a reaction to her past submissive role to Adam. She relishes being in control, is adept at manipulation, and vehemently resents being dictated or ordered around.

Lilith has a profound love for music and dancing, a trait shared with her husband and daughter, as shown by her career as a singer in Hell. She is a very loving and devoted person towards her husband and daughter, although she tends to be somewhat neglectful and cold towards the latter. It is implied that she is supportive of Charlie in her pursuit of her dreams, although she does not believe that the Hazbin Hotel will succeed, as she does not believe that redemption is possible. Unlike Lucifer, she does not attempt to stop Charlie as she wants her daughter to find out the truth for herself. Furthermore, Lilith is rather polite and patient with her and Lucifer's servants, Corey and Peel, at least compared to Lucifer's frequent cruelty of them.

While she clearly loves her family very much, the Queen of Hell is capable of displaying a more cold and cruel side, having lost all of her humanity when she ate the Forbidden Fruit. Like much of Hell's nobility, Lilith possesses a very low opinion of the sinners of Hell, viewing them as primitive, beneath her and her family, and not worth their concern, although she is more indifferent towards sinners, rather than outright hating them like her husband, and can even form friendships with certain sinners, such as the Music Overlord, Stellar. She has no problem manipulating people into doing terrible things and is cold and distant to Charlie. While she is capable of hiding it better than her husband, Lilith is a notable sadist, something she and Lucifer have in common and bond over. She enjoys watching Lucifer torture his prisoners, and even seems to get some sort of sexual thrill out of it, conversing with her husband seductively throughout each session, and then passionately kissing him after Lucifer would finally kill his victims.

Though Lilith may display flirtatious and playful behavior, it's reserved exclusively for Lucifer, emphasizing their unique connection. She adamantly refuses to tolerate any form of disrespectful admiration directed at her beauty from others. Swift and stern in her response, she orders the execution or sentences to hard labor of anyone who catcalls or behaves inappropriately towards her in public venues. For Lilith, her beauty is to be respected and admired with decorum, reinforcing her unwavering stance on the matter.

Though she does not prefer to get her hands dirty, Lilith is a very capable and confident fighter and never backs down from a challenge. In battle, she enjoys playing around with anyone who challenges her, toying with and embarrassing them to the point where their rage consumes them, only dealing the killing blow when they realize that they have no chance of defeating her in combat.

Lilith, despite her seemingly aloof demeanor, demonstrates a level of concern and care for her subjects, though she is not hesitant to administer strict punishments when necessary. This is evident in her annual "Resist" concerts, which she organizes the day following Extermination Day. These events are specifically designed to uplift the spirits of Hell's inhabitants and motivate them to stand against Heaven's genocidal actions.

Lilith is not without her shortcomings, of course, and is plagued with various flaws, notably her selfishness. Without hesitation, she deserted her own, young sons, Cain and Abel, as well as Adam, to pursue a life with Lucifer, showing little regard for their welfare on the forsaken Earth as long as she lived a more fulfilling more. Lilith also appears largely indifferent and unsympathetic towards Eve's plight, showing little empathy as she blames the first woman for her own predicament of being trapped within her mind without showing a hint of compassion or remorse of having stolen her life.

Crown Princess Charlotte 'Charlie' Magne of Hell is the main protagonist of Hazbin Hotel: Journey to the Light.

She is the princess of Hell, daughter of Lucifer and Lilith, heir apparent to Lucifer's throne, and the founder, host, and owner of the Hazbin Hotel (alternatively the Happy Hotel).

Charlie is the sole living child of Lucifer and Lilith, the only survivor of a curse condemning their previous offspring to be stillborn. Having witnessed the brutality of the Exterminations at a young age, the Princess of Hell became motivated to put an end to the annual carnage by any means necessary. Naïve and theatrical with a black and white view of morality, yet bursting with passion, she is an extremely altruistic demon who - despite most of the Inferno's denizens thinking otherwise - believes that redemption is possible for any and all sinners.

Despite how many damned souls ridicule her dreams, the failures she has endured, or what the Universe throws in her way, she is determined to make her ideal, harmonious version of Hell a reality.

APPEARANCE

Charlie is a tall and slim-figured hell-born demoness who stands at around 6 feet tall or over, with white skin and large, rosy-cheeks. While appearing mostly humanoid, she sports a few abnormal and even animalistic features; such as red-toed hooves under her shoes, a dog-like black snout, a mouth with naturally black lips and fangs inside, and pointed black finger nails which vaguely resemble small claws.

Her thick, blonde ankle-length hair has thin light coral streaks on the thicker, paler-blonde highlights, and it is usually kept into a twice-banded ponytail by two black hair ties with flipped-bangs that ended with a curl. She also has eyes with light yellow sclera, red pupils, thick fluttery eyelashes and silver-like colored eyelids.

Charlie's attire consists of a red tuxedo-jacket with darker-colored lapels and under-cuffs, as well as small white tag on the left side, worn over a high-collared, white untucked dress-shirt with small black buttons on the upper-front, and small gold cuff links on the elbow-length sleeves' dark gray cuffs. In addition, she accessorizes her shirt with a small black bowtie and black suspenders over her shoulders.

Her dress pants are a darker shade of red compared to her jacket, and her shoes are that of heeled white saddle shoes with black toes and tips of the heels.

When in her full demon form, Charlie's appearance is altered; her hair is let loose and is more flowy, and she gains a pair of maroon-colored horns atop of her head. Her eyes are reverse-colored; having light yellow irises with red sclera, though with slit pupils, thin black streaks across each eye, and longer and thicker eyelashes which resemble butterfly wings.

Her fingernails sport a much more claw-like appearance, and she also gained a long, black demonic tail with spikes and a red heart on the center of the triangular tip.

PERSONALITY

An altruistic demon of unparalleled kindness, Charlie is the extremely determined, passionate, fiery, passionate, optimistic, and passionate princess of Hell (did we mention she's passionate?). She is a huge empath who sees all of Hell's denizens as her children, regardless of how much they disparage and openly ridicule her and her ideals. Initially as naïve as she is theatrical, while also bursting with passion, silliness, and determination, possessing the enthusiasm of a hopeful theater kid. Her optimism shines through everything, and despite the grim surroundings of Hell, Charlie finds a sense of warmth and attraction in the place.

She takes very much after her father's eccentricity and is very odd herself, with a sort of "Disney adult" vibe to her. Throughout her life, she has tried to do everything in her power to make Hell a better place for all sinners and demons in any small or big way she can, concocting many oddball schemes to advance this ideal version of Hell, such as attempting to convince the Seven Deadly Sins to open their respective rings for sinners so that the Pride Ring would not face overpopulation, opening dance clubs, and, most notable of all, opening the hotel to rehabilitate sinners. However, nearly all of her ideas have failed for various reasons, whether it be from many sinners not bothering to give her the time of day, to her being so in over her head that the idea was doomed to fail.

Amidst her consistent setbacks, she retains an unwavering optimism and refuses to surrender even when faced with overwhelmingly unfavorable circumstances. Initially, Charlie held the conviction that no being is inherently beyond redemption, though she began to realize through her journey that some demons could not be reformed, such as when she encountered Yuck.

In stark contrast to numerous high-ranking demons in Hell, Charlie faces a notable lack of respect from the sinners inhabiting the realm. This stems from her typically gentle and unthreatening nature, causing them to perceive her more akin to a naive Disney princess rather than a commanding figure. Sinners around Charlie express their discontent with Hell and insult her in a comical and vulgar manner, reflecting the chaotic and sinful nature of the place. Her previous setbacks and relentlessly optimistic perspective become fodder for mockery among the sinners. Even within Hell's aristocracy, she garners little more than the status of a child, lacking substantial regard. Even those outside of the Inferno have ridiculed her radical ideals, such as the Exterminators, Death, and Azrael. Regardless, she refuses to let anyone rain on her parade and insists that there is good within everybody and that "inside of every demon is a rainbow".

As previously mentioned, she harbors a deep love for her people and willingly undertakes the impossible to rescue even the most cruel and damned souls from their impending and everlasting doom. Her character is marked by profound bravery; during her youth, she fearlessly attempted to rescue a family from the clutches of the fearsome Exterminators, facing the bloodthirsty angels head-on. Though not without fear, she displayed immense courage until one of the Exterminators left a lasting mark on her face, revealing her own blood for the first time. The princess's compassion extends to the plight of animals, including untamed demonic creatures, her purity enabling her to establish a connection with and even communicate with them in some manner.
