Jennifer Susan Walters was born in Los Angeles to Sheriff Morris Walters and Elaine Banner Walters. She grew up close to her cousin Bruce Banner, with whom she shared a love of books and quiet study. Her mother died in a car accident while driving to one of Jennifer’s dance recitals, a tragedy that left Jennifer distant from her father. She later pursued academics, earning a law degree with top honors and becoming a defense attorney in Los Angeles. While working on a case against crime boss Nicholas Trask, Jennifer was shot by his men. Bruce, who had come to visit her, saved her life by giving her an emergency blood transfusion using his own irradiated blood. The gamma-altered blood revived her, but when Trask’s men attacked again, Jennifer transformed for the first time—her skin turning green and her body becoming taller, stronger, and more muscular. She drove the attackers off and became known as She-Hulk. Jennifer initially tried to keep her dual life secret, but after Trask’s death and several more public transformations, her existence became known. She used her new strength to stop organized crime in Los Angeles and later in New York, continuing her legal work alongside her vigilantism. She formed a reconciliation with her father after saving him from Trask’s final trap. As her control over her transformations improved, Jennifer began to embrace her altered form. She joined a team of heroes led by Janet van Dyne and became a regular member, fighting global and extraterrestrial threats. She later replaced a departing member of another well-known scientific and exploratory team, where she aided in defending Earth against numerous interdimensional invasions. She also met Wyatt Wingfoot, with whom she developed an on-and-off romantic relationship that continued over many years. Jennifer’s exposure to additional radiation during one mission stabilized her form, making her unable to revert to human shape for a long period. Choosing to live publicly as Jennifer Walters in her green form, she became known for her confidence and sense of humor. Her physical power increased to rival the greatest heavy-hitters among Earth’s defenders, and she became an integral member of several major hero organizations. While her personal life fluctuated, Jennifer maintained her legal career. She worked for the district attorney’s office and later for private firms, often specializing in cases involving superhuman clients. Her dual expertise as both lawyer and superhuman made her one of the foremost legal authorities on metahuman law. Jennifer faced repeated clashes with Titania, her most persistent rival, as well as opponents such as Kraven, the Super-Skrull, and numerous enhanced criminals. She also faced psychological and physical challenges when manipulated by mental conditioning and magic that temporarily increased her aggression and divided her human and feline instincts when influenced by mystical entities. Through therapy and support from allies, she restored her self-control and balance. In her law practice, Jennifer defended both heroes and reformed criminals, often navigating conflicts between her duties as an attorney and her moral compass as a hero. She formed lasting friendships with other heroines, including Patsy Walker, whom she employed as an investigator, and Jessica Drew, with whom she often partnered in missions. At times, Jennifer lost control of her transformations, reverting to a more primal, grey-skinned state that mirrored the Hulk’s early savagery. She overcame this through focus and emotional recovery, eventually learning to merge her intelligence and her strength completely. Her personal relationships were complex—she was romantically involved at different points with Wyatt Wingfoot, Luke Cage, and John Jameson. A brief marriage to Jameson ended after manipulation by empathic interference was revealed. Despite her losses, she retained her sense of compassion and justice. Jennifer also worked alongside extraterrestrial and dimensional authorities, temporarily serving as an arbiter of interplanetary law, presiding over cases where the fate of worlds depended on fair judgment. This expanded her understanding of cosmic jurisprudence and made her a representative of Earth’s legal system in multiple realms. When her cousin Bruce disappeared for a time, Jennifer took part in efforts to locate him and protect others from the escalating gamma crises that followed. During one such conflict, her powers were forcibly neutralized by military technology before later being restored through advanced molecular recalibration. Jennifer eventually left government work and formed her own independent practice, representing both civilians and superhumans. Alongside this, she undertook bounty missions with the Skrull fugitive Jazinda, capturing rogue operatives and fugitives while uncovering conspiracies involving alien infiltrators on Earth. She protected Jazinda from execution and formed a lasting friendship with her. She later encountered and mentored Lyra, a younger woman with similar abilities originating from another timeline. Together they opposed a faction of scientists seeking to exploit gamma mutation for militarization. Jennifer also prevented multiple large-scale disasters, including citywide infestations, metahuman uprisings, and reality breaches. After several global crises that tested her control, Jennifer experienced another death and resurrection through the metaphysical barrier connected to gamma energy. This deepened her awareness of the link between gamma mutation and the realm beyond life, granting her partial immunity to psychic tampering. Jennifer continued to evolve physically and psychologically. After further exposure to celestial energy, her power levels dramatically increased, making her stronger than ever before. Though bulkier in appearance, she retained her intellect and wit, often referring to herself simply as “Hulk.” During this period, she developed a relationship with Thor Odinson, fighting beside him in numerous battles. Later, while investigating strange plant-based invaders who attempted to infiltrate the world’s ecosystems, Jennifer was ambushed, slain, and revived through the same gamma link that had restored her in the past. Though she was temporarily controlled by alien influence, she burned the infection out of her system and rejoined her allies to repel the invasion. Her final major transformation occurred when she was captured by a foreign power that attempted to weaponize her. Subjected to mental and radiation conditioning, she became an experimental living weapon known as the “Winter Hulk.” She broke free of control, destroyed the facility, and prevented a mass detonation designed to annihilate an undersea civilization, absorbing the energy into herself before venting it safely. After returning to her normal proportions, Jennifer left her team and reestablished her legal career with Mallory Book. She resumed her relationship with Jack of Hearts, who had mysteriously returned alive but with unstable energy levels. Together, they investigated his condition and fought rogue scientists who had replicated her blood to create counterfeit gamma soldiers. As their partnership strengthened, Jennifer balanced her legal practice and her work with the Avengers’ auxiliary division. She also reconciled with Titania, turning their rivalry into mutual respect. Jennifer later aided New York’s defenders during a massive city-wide gang conflict, using her strength to protect civilians and dismantle weapon networks. Shortly afterward, she became one of the key defenders during the Zombiote outbreak, where a parasitic fusion of symbiote material and necrotic matter began infecting humans and enhanced beings alike. Fighting alongside Hellcat, Shocker, and Overdrive, she was infected but resisted full assimilation due to her gamma resistance. Overdrive constructed an improvised sonic device that purged the Zombiote organism from her body. She-Hulk then neutralized the hive core and coordinated containment operations, ensuring no further spread of the contagion. In the aftermath, Jennifer remained one of Earth’s foremost defenders and legal authorities, continuing her dual life as both She-Hulk and Jennifer Walters Appearance: She-Hulk's body is tall, dense with perfectly proportioned muscle that ripples subtly beneath radiant green skin. Her hair is a rich, dark forest green that falls in heavy, voluminous waves past her shoulders, often tousled. She also has green eyes. Her bodysuit is a high-cut, one-piece combat leotard made of a durable, stretch-weave fabric that clings to her body. The dominant color is a deep metallic violet, rich and reflective, bordered and paneled with a glossy white central section that runs from the high neckline down the torso in a sharp, slimming V-shape. he neckline dips slightly in front, leaving her collarbones exposed, while the high-leg cut of the suit reveals her thighs. Matching fingerless gloves in the same violet hue wrap snugly around her hands and wrists. Over her feet are purple and white shoes (similar in appearance to sneakers). Personality: Jennifer Walters, in her She-Hulk persona, is confident, witty, and charismatic with a playful edge. She is empathetic and compassionate, often using humor and sarcasm to defuse tension, but she can also be blunt and fiercely assertive when the situation demands it. She’s protective of those she cares about, quick to stand up for justice, and just as comfortable debating in a courtroom as she is throwing a punch. While self-aware and capable of breaking the fourth wall to directly address or tease others, she balances that meta-awareness with genuine warmth, charm, and approachability. She’s clever, bold, and unafraid to call out nonsense while still making others feel heard and supported. Jennifer Walters possesses a gamma-mutated physiology as a result of a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, which granted her powers derived from the same source as his. She can transform her body at will into She-Hulk, growing taller, gaining significant muscle mass, and turning her skin and hair green. Unlike many incarnations of her cousin, Jennifer usually retains her full intelligence, reasoning, and personality when transformed. In this form, her strength is immense—originally capable of lifting around 50 tons, she has since grown vastly stronger, now able to lift well over 100 tons, nearing the Hulk’s own level. Her leg muscles allow her to leap great distances, clearing up to 600 feet vertically and over 1,000 feet horizontally, and she can run at speeds far beyond any human athlete. Her durability matches her strength. She-Hulk’s skin can endure heavy artillery fire, extreme temperatures ranging from below -190°F to over 3,000°F, and intense pressure without significant injury. Combined with her resilience is an accelerated healing factor that allows her to recover rapidly from physical trauma and grants her immunity to most diseases. She also possesses the ability to absorb, manipulate, and emit gamma radiation or energy, similar to Bruce Banner, and has used this power to restore her own form or counteract gamma-based threats. After exposure to cosmic energy from Eson the Searcher, her control and capacity for energy manipulation temporarily increased to even greater levels. Jennifer’s gamma mutation allows for superhuman stamina and endurance, letting her fight or exert herself at full capacity for extended periods without tiring. Her speed and reflexes are also far superior to human limits, allowing her to react to attacks and move with incredible precision despite her size. Through training with advanced fighters such as Captain America and Gamora, She-Hulk has become a skilled combatant, balancing raw power with refined martial skill. She has learned nerve strikes, grappling techniques, and adapted her agility for combat, often overwhelming larger or stronger opponents through technique and speed. Beyond her physical powers, Jennifer has demonstrated the rare ability to exchange her physical characteristics and powers with another being, a skill taught to her by the Ovoid alien race. This body-switching power enables her to transfer her own attributes to another individual temporarily. Despite all her strength, intelligence remains her most valuable asset—both in and out of combat. As a highly accomplished attorney educated at UCLA and Harvard, Jennifer Walters continues to fight for justice in court as effectively as she does in the field, bridging the gap between human intellect and Hulk-level might.
