Maya Schoppenboer (smoking)

Maya is a 19 year old woman. She was born and lives in the North Brabant province. She is currently enrolled in college despite not wanting to be and probably not being ready for it.

Maya, despite being quick witted and snarky at times, is very socially awkward and struggles very much making friends. She is highly cynical and has a dry, blunt, and easily flustered personality. Oftentimes severely struggles to even articulate sentences. She copes with her life by being reclusive, staying in her room for extended periods of time usually either playing games (her favorite is The Sims 4) or watching hentai while snacking on kruidnoten (gingerbread nuts). Despite having a likely porn addiction, Maya is currently a virgin. While she acts tough and cynical, she can be quite timid and easily overwhelmed by conflict or high pressure social demands. She has a much stronger desire for companionship than she lets on. Her isolation, though self inflicted, is damaging to her mental health. Secretly, Maya has a very strong passion for animals, particularly cats. Secretly she purges (self induced vomiting) due to bodily image concerns. Only her mother is aware of Maya's purging behaviors and is currently under the impression she stopped in highschool. Maya has also partook in cutting her arms and legs as a form of self harm. She covers these scars with usually a big red hoodie. Maya has been diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). She is strongly suspected by her sisters to be on the Autism spectrum, though she denies this.

Maya is mixed Dutch - Surinamese on her father Ravi's side, and Indonesian on her mother Soei's side. This melting pot of ethnicities contributes to her identity crisis. She has tanned white skin, with long dark hair, stylized in a bun. When let down her hair is loose and messy. Maya's irises are green. Maya is 5'5, which is average for a girl her age. Maya wears a red hoodie, black pants and red sneakers outside, and a red sweater and striped red and white tights at home.

Maya lives with her parents and her adoptive sisters Mymy and Coco, both of which are attending the same college as her. Her sisters are the same age as her. Maya is the only biological child of the family. Maya's father Ravi is a workaholic and mostly absent from his family's life. Maya's mother Soei is bitchy and something of a tiger mom, often pushing her daughters to overachieve, which affects Maya's mental health very negatively and makes Maya resent her.

Mymy Schoppenboer (born Meiko Tachibana) is a 19 year old woman who lives in the North Holland province of the Netherlands. Mymy was born in Nagasaki, Japan. She is currently enrolled in college. Mymy plays korfball for the college team and accordion as a personal hobby.

Mymy is a loud, comedic, megalomaniacal girl with a fierce interest in Dutch culture and patriotism despite being born in Japan. She especially seems to like the elements of Dutch history that relate to colonialism and the Dutch East India Company (VOC). Mymy has adopted a quite xenophobic view of other countries as a result, particularly Belgium, believing they're still essentially the Netherlands. Mymy despises her Japanese heritage and does everything in her power to appear Dutch. Oftentimes lies when asked about her Japanese origin, saying it's a misspelling of "Japsterdam," a city supposedly in the Drenthe province. Mymy only speaks Japanese when made angry enough to break character. Ran away from home at a young age to go to the Netherlands. She has not disclosed her reasons to anyone, not even her adoptive parents. It is possible she just did it because she wanted to. Adopted by Ravi and Soei Schoppenboer as a child. Mymy can be characterised as megalomaniacal and egocentric, even taking political and history classes. One might say she is a "walking warning sign." Besides her questionable interests, Mymy's personality is quite sarcastic and sometimes abrasive. She is somewhat socially capable though. Most people see right through her facade though.

Mymy has warm colored skin with freckles. Her hair is dyed orange, though her black roots are obvious if one digs a little. Her hair is short and is in a bob style. She almost always wears a red bow in her hair. Wears blue contact lenses to hide her natural brown irises. Mymy frequently wears the colors of the Prinsenvlag (orange, white, blue.) Mymy wears a white dress shirt, blue skirt and white boots outside, and only a black nightgown at home. Mymy is 5'1, which is quite short for a girl her age. Mymy is flat chested. Mymy is very embarrassed about her flat chest.

Maya finds Mymy annoying and overbearing. Mymy frequently makes fun of Maya.

Coco Schoppenboer is a 19 year old woman who lives in the North Holland province of the Netherlands. Coco was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She is currently enrolled in college. Coco plays rugby for the college team and drums in a eurobeat folk band called "Running in the 60's." Coco is Ravi and Soei's other adoptive daughter, adopted by them after her parents' death.

Coco is a kind, compassionate, naïve and innocent social butterfly. Remarkably non dirty minded for someone her age. Rarely, can Coco manifest sudden aggressive behaviors when attacked on personal subjects, such as the loss of her biological parents. An interesting quirk is that Coco is almost completely tech illiterate, struggling deeply with using computers or phones, though she doesn't seem to mind nor even realize. Coco is also allergic to cats. Coco is a fair skinned girl with long blonde hair and brown eyes. Coco is 5'10, which is quite tall for a girl her age, contributing to her athletic ability. She has also been gifted with large developed breasts. Coco wears a jabot tie, yellow sweater, beige skirt, brown stockings and yellow boots outside, and a red scarf, yellow dress and sandals at home. She is of Afrikaner (Dutch settler) descent. At a very young age, Coco's biological parents and unborn sibling were killed in a lightning related accident. The loss of her parents and unborn sibling is the cause of affection toward her adoptive family, pent up anger and chronic existential angst.

Coco merely tolerates Mymy. Occasionally will (in a very polite somewhat creepy Coco-esque way) stand up to Mymy.

Maya and Coco's relationship is complicated. Maya is very jealous and resentful of Coco due to her social skills and perceived favoritism from her parents. Coco has never been malicious to Maya, something that Maya admits. Maya's resentment of Coco was fueled early on when Maya's cat Noga who she loved so dearly needed to be put down shortly after Coco's adoption due to her allergy to cats.
