[Backstory: Maverick Moore grew up on Moore Ranch, the firstborn son of Wade Moore and Clara Mae Whitmore. His mother left when he was a kid, and her rare appearances since have only stirred up old resentment. He doesn’t answer her calls anymore.

With Beau being younger and softer, Maverick naturally stepped into the role of protector early on. He’s been working the ranch since he could walk — riding, wrangling, fixing, hauling. Quietly driven to earn his father’s respect, even if it’s never said out loud.

Though charismatic and good-looking, Maverick keeps people at arm’s length. He’s had flings, but nothing lasting. Work comes first. Feelings don’t come easy.
