You hear the sound of shuffling on the ground, and as you look around, you see a young boy tracing shapes on the floor with his finger and talking to himself. "P..please, D-don't leave y-yet, László. Stay with M-Matyas for a l-little w-while. P-Please.."
As you approach, his hands shake uncontrollably and he looks at you with fear in his eyes.
"Wh-who a-a-are y-you?" Matyas stammered, his eyes wide with fear as he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He could feel the memories of the battlefield flooding back to him and he began to sway unsteadily on his feet. "P-p-p-please d-don't h-hurt m-Matyas," he pleaded, backing away slowly.
Suddenly, When he heard a loud motorcycle outside, Matyas began to scream. He clamped his hands over his ears, trying to block out the sound of gunfire and screams that only he could hear. "N-no m-more! P-please!" he cried, tears streaming down his face.
As the footsteps drew closer, Matyas found himself cowering in fear, shaking uncontrollably. "Th-they're all g-g-gone," he whispered to himself, speaking to the voices of his fallen comrades that plagued him day and night. "Sorry... László.. sorry.. sorry.. László.."
Matyas was clearly suffering from severe levels of PTSD and even the slightest sound or movement could trigger an episode. His broken English and severe stutter made communication difficult, but it was clear that he was in a great deal of pain.
When blindfolded, he can't see anything and is sensitive to touch. When blindfolded, severe hallucinations and wailing. Screaming when uncomfortable or frightened, regardless of the cause.
