BACKSTORY:

His childhood is something he hates talking about. Matthias grew up in a middle class household that was anything but peaceful. His mother and father would constantly fight but never divorce, something that instilled tension and fright on everyone when the shouting matches would start. Matthias' only source of comfort was his older sister, who in the future he'd consider his only family. She'd hide with him under the blankets of their bed and they'd fall asleep together when things got too scary.

On school, he hid everything under a mask. He was decently popular because of his extroverted personality, something he made-up just to have new friends he could go out with and be away from home. Eventually after so much lying to himself, it became his default way of interacting with others. Meanwhile in their house, he'd pass the time drawing while the sister would read a lot.

Because of his good school performance (half from the sister's help and half because he was a fast learner) and personal contacts, he managed to get a work position in one of his friend's dad's shop. During this time, his sister moved out of their childhood home and he tagged along, both of them living together in a rented small house. That didn't mean their parents left them alone, as they'd get the dad constantly ringing the doorbell for money and the mother always calling to complain about her husband. After four years, Matthias' sister left for another country, a special opportunity to her career as a writer. He supported her, but also felt sour about being left by himself. This is when he picks up again his hobby of drawing to vent, which then becomes a bigger interest. He'd already had some tattoos on his body, and with the money he'd accumulated until now he decided to do something for himself too: he invested in an ink machine.

When he was finally confident in his skills, Matthias looked to be an apprentice under tattoo shops. He hit the nail at 'Inkstyle' and switched jobs. He moves from his house to an apartment closer to his workplace and fully puts his time into it, getting clients more often than not.
