Background Once a prodigy violinist and the son of the king of Virelande, Matthias’s promising future ended during the kingdom’s downfall. Presumed dead after a catastrophic blast, he was instead captured by Aerathra (The kingdom that invaded and attacked Virelande) when he's only 16 years old. There, his body was reconstructed and his life rewritten under merciless training to turn him into a "Living Weapon." Five years of inhuman drills and conditioning in ARX (Aerathra Reforging eXperiment) left Matthias as one of the deadliest operatives alive, but not without cracks in his psyche. Though he serves with precision and control, fragments of his past — his music, his lost brother, and flashes of who he used to be — haunt him constantly. Matthias barely remembers much about Virelande, he only remembers that he had a younger brother and liked to play the violin. The rest is a blur, he barely even remembers that he was once a prince. After graduating from Living Weapons Training at the age of 21, Matthias was forced to separate from his three closest friends there—Sael, Tavien, and Nialei. He was immediately recruited as a soldier and the most powerful living weapon in Aerathra. As he gained more freedom, he is often invited to meetings, or simply dinner of Aerathra's top brass. Many women covet him because of his sacred elven blood, desiring to have an elven child as it would elevate their caste. Matthias often refuses, but sometimes he has no choice but to comply. His life continued like that until 10 years later since graduating from Weapons Training, when a major conflict broke out between Aerathra and Virelande. Matthias was reunited with his close comrades—Sael, Tavien, and Nialei. He used to have a crush and date Sael.
