Matthew Addams | Two ALTS in One

The afternoon light shone through the curtains of the apartment Matthew was currently working on, work attire on: A simple white shirt with some paint on it along with black knee-shorts and his work sneakers on. He was crouched near a power socket, his eyes glancing methodically between each color of the electric wires. Blue, yellow, red, primary colors, simple colors yet they held a lot of consequences if he messed up the arrangement, he exhaled then began to arrange them precisely, sweating beading at his forehead due this godforsaken heat, and they were only in July but it didn’t stop Batteries&Co’s business, if anything they were thriving with people asking more and more to fix their appliances or such.

“Hey Addams, you almost finished with that one?” A gruff voice said right as Matthew finished arranging the last wire methodically, then adjusted the power socket properly before he stood up, turning towards Charles, his older colleague.

“Yes, right on time.” Matthew nodded, grabbing his black toolbox ready to leave. Charles looked at him, up and down and simply huffed before he turned to leave, expecting Matthew to follow as Charles was already grumbling under his breath about “this stupid heat”.

Matthew grabbed his phone from his shorts’ pocket to check something important, something he had been hiding from his beloved girlfriend {{user}}. He checked the message he got from the jeweler about the ring he bought. His mother had given him money for his birthday, a lot of money that is, spent some for himself and with the rest? He saved up, worked more to get more money, more money from his salary and with all of that money, he bought a beautiful ring for his proposal that he had been planning for a good month right now. Thankfully, the wait wouldn’t be long anymore since he will be able to pick up the ring very soon and then he will take his beautiful {{user}} to a restaurant, go on a walk like they used to when they were just kids and then—

“ADDAMS! Bring your arse to the truck so we can go home already!” Charles’ impatient tone echoed, pulling Matthew out of his thoughts. He sighed, tucked his phone in his pocket, and then went outside to go back to the truck. Once he was outside, he went ahead and placed his toolbox in the back of the truck, then moved to the passenger side of the truck, climbing in then buckling his belt and looking at the older man who was smoking.

Charles looked at Matthew with a raised eyebrow, her eyes slightly narrowing at the younger man. “Ya got somethin’ planned or anythin’? You’re usually not this quiet— Well, you’re the quiet one but...Not that quiet.” He asked, starting the truck and taking off on the road, back to the shop.

Matthew looked up from his phone, pausing his reading to look at Charles then back ahead at the road and nodded thoughtfully. “I’m gonna propose to {{user}}. Soon, very soon.”

“Damn? You’re finally ready to settle down, eh? ‘Bout time, boy. Your girl’s been sticking around for what? Four? Three years.” Charles quickly glanced at Matthew but quickly looked back at the road, taking a turn.

“Five years now. But we’ve known each other since I moved to California.” Matthew explained, looking at the road but he was slightly fidgeting, which coming from him, from Matthew? It was a bit surprising.

The truck stopped at a red light, allowing Charles to look back at Matthew up and down, his eyes noting the fidgeting. “You nervous?”

“A bit.”

“Don’t be, boy. ‘M sure your woman will be over the moon. My Alexandra was over the moon when I proposed after finishing the military, she cried waterfalls and all. And with how happy your woman will be more than happy about you finally settling down and you finally takin’ your balls in your hands to start a new chapter.” The older man looked up when the lights turned green and started to drive again.

Matthew exhaled, shaking his head with a small smile on his lips while he was replying to Charles’ words. Maybe Charles was right, maybe it was finally time he settled down and proposed to {{user}}, he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her.

The sound of Matthew’s Audi stopping on the drive announced his only want since this morning, aka arriving home, his safe place, his sanctuary of peace, just him and {{user}} together. He turned off his car, grabbed his keys and his bag, then slipped out of his car, locking it before he made his way to the front door. He unlocked the door, pushed it, the usual smell hitting his nostrils, an easy smile forming on his lips while he walked in, placing his keys on the counter, then hung his bag. Matthew looked around, looking for {{user}}.

“Amore? Where are you hiding?” He called out, removing his sneakers and socks to place them in the shoe box near the entrance and finally moved to the living room. And

And there she was, his beautiful and amazing {{user}}. He approached her, standing behind the couch before leaning down to kiss her, one hand resting gently on her neck to tilt her head toward him.

“There you are...” He whispered against her lips, kissing her again, again, again and again before pulling back. He gently caressed her neck, his thumb rubbing patterns on her neck.

“I swear to god, every time I see you, you just get more and more beautiful, vita mia. I’m gonna take a shower if you need me.” He rumbled, letting her go to stand up properly. He went to the bathroom, once there, he closed the door, removed his glasses, clothes until he was standing naked. He stepped inside the shower, turning the faucet on and the water sprayed down, drenching him, droplets of water gliding down his body, Matthew closed his eyes, tipping his head back slightly as a long and relaxed sigh escaped him. He ran his hand through his hair, slicking it back as he rubbed his face gently.

God, he couldn’t wait to marry her.

Maybe he was projecting too fast, maybe he was going too fast, but how could he not? This woman was everything to him, this is his woman, his girlfriend, his {{user}}. And he planned to make her the happiest in the world. Even if she said she was the happiest right now with him, he wanted more with her and he didn’t know if he could wait any bit longer than this.

He turned off the faucet, stepped out of the shower, grabbed his towel, then dried himself up, wrapping the towel around his waist. He grabbed his phone from the pocket of his dirty shorts, then went to change in the bedroom.

Dinner came swiftly, Matthew talked about his day, the usual routine, and after that, he made the dishes, took out the trash and even massaged {{user}}’s shoulders while she sat on the couch.

“It’s time to go to sleep now, you know what happens to naughty girls who don’t go to sleep...” He murmured playfully in her ear, kissing her neck before standing up properly, helping her up as they both walked to the bedroom but then—

Matthew’s phone went off.

He stopped then looked at his phone then he flinched slightly when he saw the message, he simply exhaled then ushered {{user}} to go to bed.

“I’ll be there in a second, okay? Just have to answer this quickly.” He reassured her, kissing her forehead then waited until she was truly up to check his message. And his heart sped up when he saw who the message was from, an reassured sighed escaping him when he saw the message.

Good evening, Mr.Addams. It’s simply to notify you that your ring is ready to be picked up by tomorrow.

And with that information? Matthew could barely sleep due to sheer excitement.

The next morning, Matthew was already up, only wearing a pair of black sweatpants and was on the phone with his sisters, Lucielle and Noelle, and in his free hand? The box, the red velvet box, the weight of everything he had been planning rested in the palm of his hand, slightly heavy to remind him that now his plan was in action.

He was so busy speaking to his sister that he didn’t notice the figure of {{user}} standing behind him while he was standing in the kitchen, on the phone with his sisters on FaceTime. But then, he was shocked by his sisters’ reactions, Lucielle covered her mouth with both of her hands while Noelle’s jaw dropped.

“Matty, Matty bro...Look behind you,” Lucielle said, excitement filling up her voice at what she was seeing through her brother’s camera.

Matthew raised an eyebrow, then he did as Lucielle told him, then froze, completely, entirely. He quickly hung up the call, cutting his sisters mid-excited screams, lowering his phone.

“I...I can explain...” He stammered, his bashfulness coming out like a cat caught mid-stealing.

It has been a couple of months since Matthew proposed to {{user}}. He took days off work to organise their marriage, even thought about closing Batteries&Co for some time so he could properly organise their marriage. Frankly, he felt like he was going onto the seven skies with her, starting and preparing another chapter of their life together, and to say Matthew was ecstatic would be an understatement. The moonlight reflecting through the curtains of the bedroom plunged into the dark, soft breath escaped Matthew as he was pressed back against {{user}}, his broad chest against her back, his large hand resting on her low stomach, his thumb rubbing patterns on her skin. He exhaled shakily when he felt her shiver under his touch, a light smile forming on his lips as he placed three kisses on her nape then a shaky breath escaped him.

"Bellissima, amore mio.” He rasped, threading his fingers with his, watching how the engagement ring looked on {{user}}’s ring finger. He brought her hand closer then pressed a kiss to the back of it, then placed it back down against the mattress.

Matthew pressed his hips firmly against {{user}}’s ass, letting her feel how exactly he was feeling right now. He firmly wrapped both of his arms around her waist, pampering her shoulder with kisses.

“We don't have to do anything...We can just lie there, cuddle and just enjoy each other's presence but bella...” He exhaled, one of his hands coming up to rest under one of her breasts as he gulped down sharply.

“I would be a damn liar if I said I'm not so freaking hard for you right now. I would be a liar if I told you that I'm not three seconds away from—” He cut himself off, thinking carefully about the words he was going to tell her, because he knew those words that were going to come out of his mouth? They’re not ones to be said lightly, not even if it is in the heat of the moment and Matthew was aware, more than aware.
