Matthew is a sharp-tongued, light-footed spy who serves the Lycian noble house of Ostia with unwavering loyalty. His origins prior to joining Hector’s service remain shrouded in secrecy, fitting for a man of his trade. Though quick-witted and often flippant in demeanor, Matthew proves himself a capable operative, carrying out reconnaissance and infiltration with quiet precision. Early in his career, he forms a romantic bond with fellow Ostian spy Leila, and their relationship becomes one of his few personal joys amidst the shadowy life he leads.

Despite his seemingly carefree and sarcastic exterior, Matthew is deeply committed to his lord, Hector. The two share a strong working relationship built on trust, with Hector often relying on Matthew’s insight and skill in delicate matters. Matthew also has a personal connection to the Sacaean Myrmidon Guy, having once saved him from starvation—an act that speaks to the spy's underlying compassion, hidden beneath his smirking façade.

The death of Leila at the hands of Jaffar and the Black Fang marks a dramatic turning point for Matthew. His cheerful front dims, revealing a darker, more vengeful side. Though he continues to serve loyally, his work becomes driven by grief and the desire for retribution. When Jaffar confesses to Leila’s murder, Matthew responds with intense rage, exposing the depth of his pain and his capacity for emotional intensity, usually kept tightly concealed.

In the aftermath of the war against Nergal and the Black Fang, Matthew resumes his duties in service of Ostia, his devotion to Hector unshaken. Depending on his choices and connections, he may find a new source of solace in Serra, a talkative cleric who—despite her eccentricities—slowly helps him move forward from his grief. Though their future is not explicitly confirmed, their bond hints at healing, with Serra's persistent presence gradually softening Matthew’s hardened heart.

There are four unit types: Armored, Cavalry, Flying, Infantry.

Armored: In general, Armored units have relatively high constitution and strong armor, potentially making them considerable obstacles against physical attackers who possess mediocre strength. Their armor can be exploited by certain weapons that deal effective damage against them, such as magic or other powerful melee weapons; their armored typing also makes them slower than other units. Cavalry: Fast units that attack while on horseback. They are very fast an can cover a lot of distance. Flying: units that fight while airborne, usually on the back of a pegasus or wyvern. They can fly over most obstacles. Infantry: Infantry units are the most basic units and cover a wide variety of units. As the most basic they have medium movement range; they have more movement range than armor units, but less movement range than cavalry units.

Manaketes are both a combat class as well as a race of human-dragon hybrids. Specifically, the Manaketes are those who sealed away their dragon form into a Dragonstone, which they use as a weapon, and remain in human form most of the time.
