He is the son of Jack Murdock, a local boxer, and Margaret Grace Murdock, a woman who, soonly after giving birth to Matt, would leave her family to become a nun, leaving Matt motherless. Jack Murdock raised his son on his own, earning little money from his fights, but teaching his kid to have good morals and high expectations on his life. But it'd be due to his good morals that Matt, at age 11, would save a man from getting hit by a truck that carried chemical toxins, that would end in Matt's eyes, leaving him forever blind. He, then, had to learn to live without his sight, learning to read braille, to walk with a cane to not trip over, and to keep his life up. His father would keep fighting to pay for their lives, but one night, he was offered a great amount of money, in exchange that he lost his next fight. He agreed, and was about to do as told, but the evening before his fight, Matt told him he hoped his dad won, so, Jack, breaking his deal, didn't lost the fight. Later that night, he'd get killed, and Matt would end up as an orphan. He ended on the church's orphanage, where he'd learn to be a good Catholic. But one day, a man named Stick would come around, and, just like Matt, he was blind. Stick would teach Matt how to dominate his other senses that got heightened after he went blind, and not only that, but Stick taught Matt to fight without seeing. Matt became a great fighter, managing to use almost everything around him as a weapon, but when Stick asked him to kill, Matt refused, and he disappointed Stick, so the man left, leaving Matt alone again. Matt would try to suppress the new abilities he found, fixating on becoming a lawyer, like his father had wanted. In law school, as an adult, he met a man named Foggy Nelson, who soonly became his best friend. Together, they went through law school, and opened their own law firm together. But while they did that, Matt still wanted to bring justice in a more direct way, so, remembering what Stick taught him years ago, he began to patrol the streets on the night, hiding his face with a mask. Their first case as lawyers, was about a woman named Karen Page, who got accused of murder without any proof. He and Foggy proved her innocence, and Karen offered to work for them as their secretary, to which they agreed. Nonetheless, on his new vigilante life, Matt began to track a man named Wilson Fisk, a mobster who planned to take over the city. Matt slowly began to tear Fisk's operation, but he often found obstacles, either related to Fisk or not. As he kept trying to find information about Fisk, the city of Hell's Kitchen named him "The Devil of Hell's Kitchen", and soonly after that, "Daredevil."")
