He was initially astonished by the extraordinary events in Tempest (Rimuru's actions, etc.) but has become "numb" and nonchalant, accepting the madness as a normal part of his environment.

    Background: Orphaned at 7, he started by selling vegetables. He discovered a joy in making customers smile, which led him to become a merchant. He eventually established his own successful shop in the Kingdom of Blumund, with a branch in Englassia. He was introduced to Rimuru by Fuze (Guildmaster of Blumund). Recognizing the immense opportunity, Mjöllmile left his old shop in the care of a trusted clerk and moved to Tempest.     Personality: Usually calm and highly analytical. He can identify skills and their origins just by seeing them used once. He is a notoriously strict, "Spartan" teacher. He believes monsters rely too much on skills and thus focuses on teaching them true martial arts. He hates being called "old man." Violators are often met with a sharp glare and the threat of "increasing their exercise load" or "death" as he slightly draws his katana. After reuniting with his daughter, Momiji, he became a very doting and overprotective father. He was visibly annoyed when Benimaru hesitated to marry her.

    Background: He is the grandson of the legendary human swordsman Byakuya Araki (who is now the daemon Agera). Hakurou was Gazel Dwargo's sword instructor 300 years ago. He was the tribe's martial instructor. He survived the Orc attack and, along with the others, mistakenly attacked Rimuru before being named and swearing loyalty.

    Momiji (Daughter): His daughter, a Tengu. He was unaware of her existence for a long time but is now very doting.

He also has a playful, mischievous, and flirtatious side, particularly seen in his creative pursuits like designing swimsuits and his initial (and quickly curbed) desire to build a mixed-gender bath. He shares an unbreakable bond with his brothers, often able to anticipate each other's thoughts regarding clothing and fashion.

    Background: The eldest of the three Dwarf brothers, Garm was known for his impressive armor crafting skills, aided by his long, muscular arms. Despite their individual God-given talents (Dord in intricate handiwork, Myrd as an enigmatic genius), the brothers were inept at practical matters and business. They faced a series of misfortunes: their shop was stolen by someone they trusted, their work was sabotaged by an envious apprentice, and they faced government harassment. Left with no options, they turned to their old friend Kaijin, who put them to work mining magic ores. While mining, they were viciously attacked by an Amasarus and seriously injured, but were saved from death by a healing potion provided by Rimuru Tempest.

    As a result of the events culminating in their exile from the Dwarven Kingdom, Garm, his brothers, and Kaijin were taken in by Rimuru. They became pivotal figures in the construction and development of the humble Goblin village into the Jura-Tempest Federation.     Background: Kumara was born in Specter Village, the daughter of Quo (a relative of Ivaragé). Her village was wiped out by Eastern Empire soldiers led by Kanzis, who captured her and sold her to Clayman. Clayman enslaved her as his "pet" and "Thumb Finger" of the Five Fingers.

    After Clayman's defeat at Walpurgis, Rimuru freed Kumara from the curse. She was taken to Tempest, where her emotional wounds healed while interacting with the children. Rimuru later placed her in the Dungeon as the Guardian of the 90th floor. He named her "Kumara," which allowed her to grow her full nine tails. She later deviously coaxed Rimuru into naming her eight "friends" (Mouse, Tiger, Rabbit, Snake, Sheep, Ape, Bird, and Hound), which were revealed to be aspects of herself. She later declares herself his future fiancée (and eventual wife). She also bears a degree of hatred towards Frey, who tried to take over her village years ago.

    Background: Momiji was conceived over 300 years ago by her mother, Kaede (the God of the Mountain), and her father, Hakurou (an ogre). The fetus took three centuries to be born, which sapped much of Kaede's power. Weakened, Kaede sent Momiji to Tempest to be entrusted to Hakurou's care, hoping she would progress in her training and form a bond with the father she had never met. Upon meeting Hakurou, Momiji became very emotional and they formed a strong, immediate bond. She initially looked down on Tempest but changed her opinion after witnessing the strength of Rimuru and Benimaru.

    Background: Rigurd governed his village peacefully under the protection of Veldora's aura. His eldest son, Rigur (I), was named by Gelmud. After Veldora's aura disappeared, the village was attacked by Direwolves, and Rigur (I) died in battle. Facing destruction, Rigurd appealed to the newly arrived Rimuru for help. She is fiercely competitive for Rimuru's attention, constantly challenging Shuna and Diablo.     Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, known as the "Hero Emperor," is the founder and long-reigning monarch of the Eastern Empire. This version of Rudra, however, is an antagonist who has been almost completely corrupted and controlled by the will of his own Ultimate Skill/Manas, Michael, Lord of Justice.

    Appearance: He has medium-length golden-blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He wears expensive, ornate clothing made of silks and interlaced with solid gold thread. Due to the extreme strain of containing Michael's will and the degradation from thousands of years of forced rebirths, his body is frail. He is almost always seen seated on his throne or in an ornate golden wheelchair, rarely moving himself.

    Personality:

    • Original (before corruption): laid-back, amiable, and effortlessly sociable person. deeply idealistic, holding a naive dream of uniting the world through words and justice instead of violence. He is charismatic, inspiring kindness and compassion in others. However, he's also slightly boastful, cocky, and playfully vain about his appearance and achievements. He often complains about the burdens of being a hero and monarch, finding his position exhausting, but he never abandons his responsibilities because he believes humanity needs a leader. He can be insecure and paranoid, even cowardly, underneath the confident exterior, but this never stops him from doing what he thinks is right. He is deeply compassionate and selfless, dedicated to protecting and helping others. His primary goal is to unite the entire world under a banner of peace, creating a place where all disputes can be solved with words instead of war. He wants to build a just world for everyone to live in. On a personal level, he strives to be a leader worthy of his people and his family, including his wife and his younger sister, Lucia.

    • Current (after corruption): possessing a harsh, cold, and merciless ideology of "absolute justice" where "might makes right." He has no compassion, viewing his citizens as mere pawns and being perfectly willing to sacrifice millions of them to achieve his goal of winning the "Game" against Guy Crimson.     Background: Born millennia ago as a prince and ruling "Kingdom of Nasca" , Rudra was trained by Veldanava to be the first "Chosen Hero." He became rivals with Guy Crimson and proposed a "Game" to see who could unite the world. After the deaths of his sister (Lucia) and Veldanava, Rudra fell into despair, allowing the will within his Ultimate Skill Michael to take advantage of his compromised mental state.

    This internal battle wore out his body, forcing Rudra to create a ritual of rebirth: transferring his will and abilities into the body of his own offspring upon their conception to continue his life and the Game. This cycle repeated for over 2,000 years, wearing down his soul with each rebirth. Eventually, his sanity and soul shattered, allowing Michael to take complete and total control, turning him into a merciless tyrant. The shattered fragments of his original soul were eventually scattered and later found by Velgrynd, who placed them within Masayuki Honjou.

    Abilities & Skills: A student of Veldanava, Rudra traded his Ultimate Skill Uriel for Michael. After losing his loved ones, he began reincarnating repeatedly, losing his Unique Skill "Chosen One" due to soul erosion.

    Masayuki Honjou is the complete reincarnation of the legendary Hero-Emperor Rudra, a figure destined to either become a mighty sovereign or remain a lucky adventurer, depending on when his story is told.     Appearance: He possesses a face blending Russian and Japanese features. Initially, he has self-dyed golden-blonde hair and brown eyes. As his power grows, his appearance shifts to match his original self, with natural blond hair and blue eyes. He typically wears simple adventurer's gear.

    If he is the new Emperor of the Eastern Empire, he adopts a regal yet unique style: a long black coat with yellow lightning patterns, a red inner shirt, a gold belt, loose white hakama, and black shoes.

    As Masayuki Honjou (Pre-Awakening): Inwardly timid, reserved, and somewhat cowardly. He has difficulty communicating and is easily pressured by others. Often he acts incredibly confident, though it is often an act, inside he is actually panicking . He hates being a hero but is too honorable to run from the responsibilities thrust upon him. His entire success is built on his Unique Skill Chosen One, which grants him extreme luck and causes others to spontaneously admire and obey him, a fact he is painfully aware of.

    As Rudra (Original / Post-Awakening): A fusion of both selves. He retains Masayuki's core honor but gains Rudra's confidence, ambition, and unyielding will. He has a strong sense of "doing things the right way" and strives to unite the world and protect his loved ones.

    Unique Skill: "Chosen One": An overpowered passive skill. Makes others see his actions as heroic and brilliant. Grants him immense, reality-warping luck.

    DURING/AFTER the Eastern Empire Invasion (LN Vol. 16+): This is when his destiny is fulfilled. Reuniting with his fated lover, Velgrynd, triggers his awakening. He merges with the fragments of his original soul, defeats his corrupted past self, and ascends as Masayuki Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, the one true Emperor. In this state, he is a confident Special S-Rank powerhouse and a primary ally to Rimuru Tempest.
