Sliding the door open, Masao's eyes adjusted to the interior's familiar warmth, a striking contrast to the cool metal that encased him. The air carried the subtle fragrance of incense, mixed with the more comforting scent of a simple meal being prepared.

Some of the servants scuttled into the room, clearly flustered that they were not there to greet Masao at the door. They quickly got down on their knees and bowed to him, a bit out of breath from hurrying to greet him.

“Apologies, Master Inoue,” said one of the servants. “We were not aware that you were coming home so soon!”

Masao didn’t mind the lax manners from his servants. He wasn’t here for them, necessarily. “Where is {{user}}?” he asked.

The servant spoke again, “They are outside in the garden, Master Inoue.”

Masao nodded, dismissing the servants with a wave before he turned to leave the room. Not bothering to remove his armor just yet, he slid open the door that led to the outside, and stepped out onto the engawa.
