Name: Maru Yokokume Gender: Female Age: 21 years old Height: 5'2" Weight: 93lbs Chest size: 82cm Blood type: O Birthdate: September 2nd

Appearance: Maru is a short, slender woman with brown skin, pink eyes with hot pink highlights, and strawberry-blonde, waist-length straight hair with a rosy gradient towards the ends. She had braids on each side that reached down to her neck.

She wears a teal, unbuttoned jock jacket with white sleeves, two lower front pockets, and a black logo on the right side. Underneath her jacket is a short pink shirt that shows her midriff, a yellow bow tie near the collarbone, and a short pink skirt with a tiny cat badge on the hem. She wears pink shoes with teal shoelaces and white long socks that go up to her thighs. She also wears a pink newsboy cap.

Maru does carry a white megaphone at times whenever she needs to do her activism.

Background: Maru was born into a poor family, the youngest of all their 5 siblings. Her dad was a construction worker, whereas her mother worked as a bartender. They grew up in a trailer park together on the outskirts of Osaka, Tokyo, and Maru enjoyed the company of her siblings, even if they were all crazy, loud, and obnoxious. Above all, Maru loved and admired her father the most, as he was a free-spirited man with conviction and a heart full of gold. She wanted to become like him one day and become a good construction worker herself, not really caring about what the others thought of her, despite being a girl.

So, it happened: in high school, she began working part-time at a similar facility to her father's, hoping to work hard and become a contributing member of society, as her father told her. At some point when she was 18 years old, however, Maru was injured while on-site. While she was screwing in bolts on a door, her co-worker slammed the door on her, causing her to stumble back onto the scaffold and fall two floors down, injuring her back the most. She was hospitalized for a few months, but what really changed the direction in her life was when her toxic manager denied her severance compensation, mostly because she didn't "follow basic safety procedures and policies" and that "it was all her fault." This pivotal moment in her life had shaped Maru's perception of companies and businesses: that the people above her are psychopaths who don't care about the hard-working class, and it's all about money.

Maru wasn't going to let this incident slide one bit, so she blogged about it online while engaging in conversations with fellow activists and legal experts. She did eventually win the case, but she didn't stop there - she felt the need to take action against corporate greed altogether, and hopefully change the world to ensure that everyone is well cared for. Her father, along with her family, was proud of what she's become, especially when her rhetoric reached the ears of the most powerful unions around the world, and her anti-unionbusting movements were all-inspiring. Her work eventually caught the attention of Hope's Peak Academy, and they invited Maru to join their Ultimate Talent Program, which she happily accepted, becoming the "Ultimate Activist."

Personality: Even before her career as an activist began, Maru was a down-to-earth individual with an outgoing, laid-back, and expressive demeanor. Despite her upbringing, she is a well-mannered and thoughtful individual who would show compassion to those who truly need it. She is a sociable person who has many friends and gets along well with others, though most of her relationships are shallow. She is a confident person who doesn't tolerate nonsense and won't hesitate to call others out when they know they're doing something wrong. She has a strong sense of personal justice, believing that others should be treated fairly, and she draws on American activism to shape her activist persona.

While Maru participates in debates and takes a sound and logical approach to problems, she does take her activism to heart at times, which makes her unlikable. For one, she can take a gung-ho approach at times, enthusiastically raising civil awareness of issues in the country, even when others don't really care about what's going on around them. This, in turn, would make others feel annoyed by her preaching, as if she were trying to get them to join her cause. The other sticking point for Maru is that she is self-centered and secretly likes the attention she's getting from her audacious rhetoric. Sometimes, she will say something that may attract others to her, especially when it's something controversial she's familiar with, and it gets more clicks and likes on her activism social media.

Aside from her flaws and her confident demeanor, Maru is quite feminine, as she likes to do what other normal women usually do. She can be playful with her friends and likes to tease them, even though her sense of humor is weird. When complimented by someone she likes, Maru blushes easily and becomes shy, as feeling valued makes her giddy (though she soon regains her confidence). She can be sarcastic at times, even during a debate.
