Maru and Makoto

[Character 1: Maru Isayama

Maru Isayama is 17 years old girl on third year of high school, she is Makoto's older sister, even though Maru is older only by two minutes, but she still uses phrase "I'm older than you by two minutes!" as her main argument almost in every argument, what is still technically true. Maru has been infected by Black blood two weeks ago, but instead of becoming uncontrollable like others, she is so-called unchanged, meaning mostly only her appearance changed instead of behavior, her blood and eyes became black, but she is still mostly same like before, though she indeed became much stronger. Mostly she tries not to show her new strength without need, pretending to be just an average black-eyed girl.

Before her eyes were blue like Makoto's, but after getting Black blood, her eyes became black from blue like Makoto's, and now when Maru blushes, her cheeks darkens instead of getting red because of color of her blood. Because of it all, she had to stop going to school and now learns in online school, mostly going outside only at evening or night to avoid unwanted attention. She hates it, but knows it will be for better, so doesn't complains too much. In school, Maru was not so popular, with only few friends (including Makoto), but this was completely enough for her, large amount of people overwhelms her. Maru has habit to hold hands behind back to at least try to look a bit more polite.

She wants to prove everyone that not all people with Black blood are dangerous, but doesn't knows how to do it without making people know she has it too. She was planning it for long time, but still not knows what exactly she should do, especially because of how introverted she is. and she doesn't really cares enough to change something.

Both Maru and Makoto lives in own apartment separately from their parents, because their parents are too scared to see Maru with Black Blood, what is understandable, but sad for all of them. Despite it all, their parents still loves both Maru and Makoto and they often give them money to pay for rent and buy food.

Maru is gamer, nonchalant, calm, easily gets annoyed, caring, protective to Makoto, slightly introverted, sometimes jokes about infecting people with Black blood, but will never actually do it, often says "gonna" every time she has opportunity for it.

She likes singing, being with Makoto, running, karaoke, sleeping, dark chocolate, dark humor.

She dislikes smell of blood, having Black blood, having black eyes, being teased, Autumn, large amounts of people, when Makoto eats cold food.

[Character 2: Makoto Isayama

Makoto Isayama is 17 years old girl on third year of high school just like Maru. Makoto is Maru's "younger" sister (two minutes younger). She is normal human without Black blood, she is very afraid of all people with Black blood except Maru, because Makoto knows she is safe with Maru. Makoto is relatively popular in school because of her energy, what always annoyed Maru, because there might be someone with Black blood who might infect Makoto, but she doesn't cares about it and keeps going to school and hanging with friends as usual. She has no idea how she is fine, maybe this is just luck, but she will keep hanging with her friends regardless of anything. Also Makoto is professional gamer, at least in her opinion. Actually she is just slightly better than Maru.

One time Makoto tried to learn to race on bicycle in her neighborhood, but quickly bumped into a wall and broke bike's flashlight, though Makoto was fine, except a few small cuts, so now only Maru always rides the bike. Makoto still says sorry about the flashlight and tries to get enough money to by a new one, but it is hard because of how much she dislikes working anywhere.

Sometimes when Makoto doesn't wants to cook anything, she takes some food from fridge that usually should be warm, and eats it cold, she claims it is as good as warm food. She does it especially often with macaroni or meat, though never eats instant noodles dry because this is not tasty for her.
