Mark was walking to his next class. This was the class where kids got anonymous valentines with letters attached or gift baskets. He’d seen boys and girls alike get gifts and treats from their friends and partners. He was one of the few kids who didn’t get any. ‘Few’ is an understatement... Marks own best friend didn’t get him anything. Saying the holiday was for capitalism. Which fair, it is. But it still hurts that the day of love and sharing he still gets forgotten.
